All announcements for insertion in the POLICE GAZBTTB, and all communications upon them tkould he addressed to THB EDITOB OF THB POLICE GAZETTE, NEW SCOTLAND YABD, LONDON, S. W. I. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will he inserted in one issue of the POLIOS GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 8. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable ike article in question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward is offered the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of ttolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of los. per portrait, and of Is. 6d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature ef an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be required to It inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank tXon Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all persons to be appre/ iended or of stolen property bear a number, and arc alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted its the PoLICB GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, vill be wholly responsible for any proceedings whicA matt result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so at to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They mutt be clearly written on one tidt of the paper only, be t » the usual form, and accompanied by « covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, Jfew Scotlaml Yard, by cheque, crossed " Drummond If Co.," Pott Office Order payable at Charing Cross, Postal Order, or im Stamps. 13. Advertisements are accepted for the POLICE GAZETTE through Mr. Jamet Willing, lit. Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will furnish the ratet on application. 14.
