Description of THOMAS M'CURLEY, native of Ligoniel, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of November, 1889, in the batony of Upper Belfast, parish of Shankhill, assaulted Constable Francis O'Brien while in the execution of his duty:— Brown eyes, regular nosa, fresh complexion, round full face, very stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 25 years of age, sandy hair; wore a black cap, dark coat, trowsers, and vest. Description of ROBERT MITCHELL, native of Strabane, county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 8th November, 1889, in the barony of Upper Toome, parish of Drommaal, stolen from his employer, Edmond M'Manus, a glazier's diamond, value 15s.:— Tattooed on back of both hands, American flag with stars and stripes on left, and a fern leaf on right, gray eyes, slightly cocked nose, fair complexion, regular face, slight mako, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, fair hair; wore a black peaked cap, gray coat and trowsers, and black vest, low shoes, nearly new; is a painter. Description of JOHN GRANT, native of Lisburn, v ho stands charged with having, on the 22ad day of October, 1889, in the barony of Upper Massareene, * parish of Blaris, seriously assaulted Robert Hall, of Lisburn, thereby fracturing his skull and placing his life in danger j— Large mark of an evil on right side . of neck and jaw, with pieces of flash, now healed, projecting, blue eyes, regular nose, study complexion, tbin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 years of age, sandy hair; wore a dark coat, white moleskin trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer. Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 21st October, 1889, in the barony of Upper Orier, parish of Killeevy, stolen a gold watch and chain, and gold brooch and ear- rings, value £ 20, from the dwell- ing- house of James Carragher; watch and chain have been recovered:— Wants some upper front teeth, mark or small hole behind one of the jaws, one of the fingers contracted or joint off; dark eyes, regular nosa, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark brown hair, recently clipped: wore an old small hat much indented, old dark long- skirted coat, brownish trowsers, and bad shoes ; is a ballad singer, and plays three balled trick ; very sbabby appearance. Description of PATRICK MONAGHAN, ( believed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 7th November, 1889, in the barony of Tullygarvey, parish of Kildrumsheridan, stolen a bullock, the property of Thomas Hamilton, and sold it on same day to Geo. M'Cabe:— Very slight make, black moustache, hooked nose, thin features, rather good looking, smart appearance, carried a stick, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 19 years of age; wore a soft black felt hat, dark clothes, red and black woollen gloves, purple muffler round his neck. Description of MICHAEL GALLIGAN, native of Cullis, county Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 9th August, 1889, in the barony of Tullyhunco, parish of Drumlane, stolen a watch the property of Thomas M'Caffrey. The offence has not previously been inserted in the Hue- and- Cry :— Prominent teeth, has lost two teeth in upper jaw, hazel eyes, fair com- plexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 18 years of age, brown hair; wore a gray tweed coat, plaid trowsers and vest; is a farm servant. Description of MICHAEL M'GUIRE, native of Portarlington, who stands charged with Laving, on the 25th November, 1889, in the barony of West Offally, parish of Monasterevan, stolen 23 calves from Jeremiah Sexton, of Cork Recent cut on nose, blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair; wore a soft light- coloured tennis hat, brown sack coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. Description of MICHAEL GORDON, native of Kingscourt, county Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 20th November, 1889, and sundry other dates, in the barony of Ardagh, parish of Temple- michael, embezzled various sums amounting to upwards of £ 30 sterling, from the Singer Sewing Machine Company:— Leans forward when walking, stooped rounded shoulders, gray tender eyes, large nose, florid complexion, round full face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age, fair hair, slight sandy moustache, small side mutton- chop whiskers; wore a round hard black hat, black coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. Description of PATRICK M'NALLY, native of Shanmullagh, and MICHAEL HIGGINS, of no fixed residence, who stand charged with having, on the 10th day of November, 1889, in the barony of Longford, parish of Cloonguish, stabbed Michael Quinn, thereby endangering his life :— 1. May have fresh cut- marks on his head and face, dark eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, long thin face medium make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 24 years of age; is a stonemason. 2. Description of JAMES CULLUM, native of Lark field, who stands charged with having, on the ' 28th day of October, 1889, in the barony of Granard, pariah of Columbkill, stabbed Francis Brady, of Lark- field, in the back, from the effects of which his life is now in danger:— Dark heavy eyebrows, slovenly gait, leans forward when walking, down- looking appearance, small dark moustache, gray eyes, long thin nose, dark sallow complexion, long thin faae, medium make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 28 or 30 years of age, dark hair slightly tinged with gray; wore a hard hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, Wellington boots; is a farmer's son. Description of FREDERICK MULLIGAN, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of November, 1889, at Drogheda, in the barony of Upper Duleek, parish of St. Mary's, by false pretences obtained a number of carpenter's tools, viz.;— 4 planes, 5 saws, 9 chisels. 3 gimlets, 2 hammers, and I hatchet, all marked " S. Martin," value £ 3 10s., the property of one Stephen Martin:— Tattooed on right arm, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 32 years ef age, brown hair, fair moustache; wore a round hard hat, dark coat, white plaid trowsers, and tweed vest. Description of TERENCE M'CONNELL, native of Rathdrina, who stands charged with having, on tbe1 25th day of November, 1889, in the barony of Lower Duleek, parish of Knockcommon, stolen a cow, the property of Isabella Carpenter, which he is supposed to have sold at Collon fair, connty Louth, on same date:— Slovenly gait, dark eyes, slightly cocked nose, dark sallow complexion, oval face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age, black hair; wore a gray dust- coat, gray tweed trowsers, and tweed vest. Description of JOHN KELLY ( name supposed to be fictitious), native of Ballymote, county Sligo, who stands charged with having, on the 15th November, 1889, in the barony of Lower Moyfeuragh, parish of Rathcore, stolen about £ 1 ( one pound) in copper, the property of James Carolan, from a lodging- house at Enfield :— Pretends to be dumb, but speaks with slight stoppage; slouching gait, dark eyes, regalar nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 33 years of age, dark hair, dark beard and whiskers, which it is likely he will shave off; wore a hard black hat, black torn coat, moleskin trowsers, and new high- low boots. Description of ANDREW BREHENY ( mother's surname Kelly), native of Ballymote, who stands charged with having, on the 18th September, 1889, in the barony of Corran, parish of Emlaghfad, stolen nine heifers, five bullocks, and seven sheep, value for about £ 200, the property of his father, Michael Breheny, which he sold at Collooney Fair on 18th September, 1889, and decamped with the money :— Smart active make, foil gray eyes, straight nose, fair complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore a soft hat, dark blue coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son; served in Marines. Description of JOHN HOPKINS, native of Thurles, irho stands charged with having, on the 10th February, 1888, in the town of Cappoquin, got married to a woman named Judith Cormack, his lawful wife being alive at the time:— Blind of an eye, one foot flat result of an injury, was in the army, dark complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, dark hair, reddish whiskers; is a tramp and gathers rags in south and west of Ireland. Is accompanied by Judith Cormack, who is also blind of an eye and of small stature. If observed, informa- tion should be at once sent to the D. I. at Nenagh. Nenagh, 23rd November, 1889. Description of MICHAEL MOLONEY, alias MICHAEL M'MAHON, alias JOHN BYRNE, alias MICHAEL WHITE, native of Feakle, county Clare, who stands charged on suspicion, with having, on the night of 20th October, 1889, at Gurtlassobrien, in the barony of Owney and Arra, parish of Temple- chally, stolen three head of cattle, the property of Hugh Garahee :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 46 years of age, brown hair, turning gray; is a stonecutter, bnt latterly acts as a cattle drover, and attends fairs. This man has been several times convicted for cattle stealing, and is a returned convict on ticket- of- leave, who has failed to report himself. Newport, 31st Oct., 1889 ( 99277 c.— 70464.) Description of EDMOND CROWE, native of Cutteen, who stands charged with having, on the night of 22nd or morning of 23rd October, 1889, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Sologheadbeg, stolen four calves ( since recovered), the property of Thomas Crowe, which he sold in fair of Newport, county Tipperary, on 23rd October, 1889:— Smart active appearance, respectable looking, dresses very tastily, gray eyes, straight nose, fresh complexion, oval face, smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a light- coloured overcoat, light tweed trowsers, and vest; has the appearance of a jockey; is a farmer's son. Description of PATRICK GLEESON, native of Mohir, who stands charged with having, on the 29th June, 1889, in the barony of Kilmanagh Upper, parish of Upperchurch, seriously assaulted James Corbitt and Michael Quinn, from the effects of which Corbitt's life is now in danger. He was bailed for trial and has absconded:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, soft round face, stout make, 6 feet high, about 22 years of age, brown hair; wore a large soft hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's- son. Description of LAURENCE O'DONNELL, native of Lyre East, who stands charged with having, on the 27th September, 1889, in the barony of Coshmore and Coshbride, parish of Lismore, grievously assaulted one James O'Donnell:— Gray eyes, cocked nose, sandy complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7^ inches- high, about 23 years of age, light brown hair, small sandy moustache, no beard or whiskers; wore'a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. Description of TWO MEN and A WOMAN, names and native places unknown, who stand sus- pected of having, on the 14th October, 1889, in the barony of Shillelagh, parish of Carnew, been concerned in forcibly entering Shillelagh Church, and taking from the vestry a pair of shoes, an old white towel, and a box of matches:— i 1. 5 feet 8 inches high, between 20 and 30 years of age; wore a grayish cap and coat, dark trowsers. 2. 5 feet 8 inches high, between 20 and 30 years of age; wore a black hat and dark coat. 3. Description of TIMOTHY KELLY, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the night of 24th or morning of 25th September, 1889, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilcoole, stolen gray tweed coat and elastic side boots from John Maloney:— Old sores on upper lip and right cheek bone which he received in a fight lately, dark sunken watery eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, brown hair; wore a light tweed coat, dark trowsers; is a tramp. Particulars relative to convict JOHN SULLIVAN, A 841, convicted at Cork Spring Assizes, on 20th March, 1884, for wounding and grievous bodily harm, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 32 years of age on conviction, married, is a labourer; born at Cork; resided before conviction at Fox's- street, Bandon, where his friends reside; brown hair, getting bald, brown eyes, dark brown eyebrows, large nose, large mouth, dark complexion, oval visage, stout make; 6 feet £ inch high ; crucifix on left arm; eagle, flag, anchor, and tomb of Napoleon on right arm; English coat of arms, lion, unicorn, and crown on breast. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 27th September, 1889. He notified his arrival in Cork to the R. LC. on the 3rd ult, and gave his address as Barrack- street, but he has not since reported himself, and his present whereabouts is unknown. He formerly lived at 7, Bennett- street, Crumpsall; he wai also at one time in business at Todmorden, Yorkshire, as a sizer and warper; a native of Preston ; about 48 years of age, at out 5 feet 9 inches high, very bushy light sandy hair, parted in the middle, had light coloured whiskers, moustache, and eyebrows, light coloured eyes, rather deep sunk; a lowish forehead. This man's defalca- tions are very heavy, a charge of forgery will also be preferred sgaimt him by the Manchester City Police. He will endeavcur to leave the country. Stolen at 3 p. m., on Tuesday, the 12th November, 1889, from a dwelling- house in this burgh, by means of false keys, the following articles, viz.:— A lady's geld ring, with initials " I. S. W." on plate; a lady's gold turquoise ring, set with a cluster and diamond in centre; a lady's half- hoop gold ring, set with several turquoise stones; a lady's gold ring with plate for initials, two pearls, and heart formed of diamonds, initials " I. L. D. to H. H. H." inside of ring; a lady's gold ring, with one pearl and 5 or 6 rubies; a lady's gold rir g, with red stones; a pair of small round amber earrings; a jubilee brooch, made of one shilling and two sixpences; a jubilee brooch, made of a two- shilling piece; a silver brooch, shape of a fiddle, with pebbles; a silver jubilee brooch, oval shape, with dates 1837 and 1887; two gold brooches, about 1 j inch long and half- an- iach broad, one with diamond in centre, and initials " I. S.," the other a spray of forget- me- not flowers and diamond in centre; a small round gold brooch, carved front, size of half- a- sovereign; a long gold chain, secret link ; a silver bracelet, raised flowers on back, name " I. Sutherland " on it; a gold sleeve stud, round shape and flowered front; a £ 1 note and £ 4 15s. in gold and silver money. The house from which the above articles were stolen is occupied by the barmaids at Stirling Railway Station, who are seldom in it during the day. On one of the girls going to said hous- about 3 16 p. m. on the above date she fomd the door open, and on entering, the person hereafter described came out of a bedroom, and on being questioned as to how he came to be in the house, stated that le was waiting on one of the girls, who had gone out of a message. He then bolted out at the door, and it has since been ascertained that a man answering his description took out a ticket at the Railway Station at 3 25 p. m. lor Edinburgh, and it is suspected that he left Stirling by the train leaving at this hour. A chisel or screw driver about half an inch broad has been used in forcing drawers and toxes. Similar thefts were comn. itted in this burgh on the 2nd and 11th October last, and it is strongly suspected that said thefts have been committed by the same person. Description— A man about 23 or 24 years of age, about 5 feet 3 or 4 inches in height, stout build, fresh complexion, fair hair, no whiskers, may have very small fair moustache, full eyes. Dressed in a light- coloured short overcoat, brown tweed trowsers and vest, brown felt hat ( the band of wMoh is of a lighter colour than the felt), linen collar and cuffs well shown. Wore a watch chain, and carried a light- coloured walking- stick. Spoke with Scotch accent. Can be identified.
