I. _ Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. t. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. ). In all cases where a reward is offered the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. 6. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen properly, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of 7s. 6d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. v 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must bs guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not Uss rank than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be required to be inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. i. Announcements concerning stolen property mutt be guaranteed by an officer of not lets rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. T I O N S. 5,' Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property beat a number, and er< alphabetically arranged by counties. • 9. The force which causes partusulan concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted to the POLICE GAZETTE, mutt, on their apprehention or recovery, at once transmit to the EdiUr notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the text issue. 10. In all catet, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, will i. wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue thould be forwarded to at to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They mui' be clearly written on one tide of the paper only, be i « the usual form, and accompanied by * covering letter. 12. But the knoioledge of what is given to us in Christ, to make Him our own as the realised gift of God, is the work of the Spirit. The heir to an estate may be but an infant of a day old. but the estate is his as legally, as completely, as it ever can be. The knowledge of his possessions has yet to be revealed to him. " That we might know the things that are freely given to us of God." This is the most pitiable thing under heaven— not that we are so poor, but that we are so rich and do not know it! I have heard of a millionaire who imagined himself a pauper, and lived upon half- a- crown a week and a loaf of bread. How many of us are precisely like that pauper— millionaires! All the unsearchable riches of Christ ours, if we did but know it! The Holy Spirit is come to reveal the Lord Jesus Christ exactly as we need to know Him— as fitted exactly to all the common wants of our daily life and our earthly circumstances.
