Al! gnnounceinmts for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communication upon them, should be addressed to THE EDITOB OP THIS POLICE GAZETTE, GEEAJ SCOTLAND YABD, LONDON, S. W. I. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. J. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article m question to be thereby identified. 4. In all cases where a reward i, offered the name and address of some person responsible far the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose apprehension it sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15 « . per portrait, and of Is. 6d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. 6. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be required to be inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. J. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. T I O N S. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property beat a sumler, ana <*- alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be interted * the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editet notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the text issue. 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, idtt * t wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded to as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They mutt be clearly written on one tide of the paper only, be in the utual form, and accompanied by * covering Utter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, Great Scotland Yard, by cheque, crossed " Drummmd $ Co.," Pott Office Order payable at Charing Crott, Postal Order, or M Stamps. 13. Advertisementt are accepted for the POLICE GAZETTE through Mr. Jama Willing, 126, Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will furnish the rata on application. 14. He does not hesitate ; amidst the ridicule of his companions he stakes his all upon that one prize, and returns with it to his country and to his king, who pays a yet greater price; and places the pearl in his crown. We are all seeking for a pearl— we call it happiness. Some say if they can find it they will give up all to secure it. Some seek it in riches, and find they crumble. Some seek it in pleasures, of which they soon get weary. The lustre goes, their pearl is tarnished. Others seek it in the knowledge of Jesus Christ as t heir Friend and Saviour, and they find in Him riches that never fail, never grow dim, and never lessen in worth. Salvation through Jesus is the great prize of the Gospel. We read of one who sought and found the pearl of great price. Listen to what he says : " What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ." I give up all, " that I may win Christ." We also read of a rich young man who seemed to be seeking for the pearl, yet he could not make up his mind to part with all, he was very sorry, but he turned away. Are we seeking this Pearl of Salva- tion in Christ Jesus 1 If so, we shall find this great difference— it is God's free gift to us- ours " without money and without price."
