' X Particular, concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. S. Particular, as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified i. In all cases where a reward is offered the r. ame and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. 4. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of Is. 6d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. 8. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be req-' ued to be inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case m « < j be. C- Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. T I O N S. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property beat a sumber, ani art alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be inserted * the POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once trotumit to the Ed-. lot notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion if any announcement, trill H wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded to at to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They miut be clearly written on one tide of the paper only, be in the utual form, and accompanied by e covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, Great Scotland Yard, by cheque- crossed " Drummond 4 Co.," Post Office Order payable at Charing Crott, Postal Order, or M Stamps. 13. And I mean to try and follow his example, and to say to my own self, " Dan'l, I won't have you for a tenant any longer; you're more trouble to me than all the world besides ; you're so hard to please, and so uncertain, that if you happen to be all right to- day, there's no knowing what you'll be like to- morrow. Paul gives us a good m any short cuts from the low level to the high. There's one in the twelfth chapter o' Romans, first verse : " I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a livin' sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Now. seemin' to me, that's plain eno' for anybody. Here's the house, a three- storied house, consistin' o' body, soul, and spirit. You go on month after month, an' year after year, sayin' what you would like to do, and what you mean to do I've heard scores o' sermons about this text, an' heard it talked about hundreds o' times ; and I've heard folk say, in their prayers, they desired to do it. But hearin' about it, and talkin' about it, and prayin' about it like that isn't a morsel of good. Here, take the key, and go right away and give it up to the Lord once for all, and have done with it. We go dilly- dallying about it year after year, till the old walls fall in and there's nothing left but a heap of rubbish. " Present your bodies," says Paul. Go in before the Lord and say, " Here I am, Lord ; take me altogether. Thine, ard Thine for evermore." Give Him the house, and let us just sweep the rooms and keep it so nice as ever we can for Him.
