" There is no difference, for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." This is what God said. This is what we never could and never can feel ; it is a thing for which we must believe God. Of course there are differences in heinous ness or degradation of sins ; we all know. it; but what we don't by nature know is that there is no difference as to where we stand before God. The one question is— Guilty or not guilty 1 There are no degrees as to the fact of guilt. " He that offends in one point is guilty of all," and nothing less. He that offends in all points is guilty of all, and nothing more. Therefore, while there are differences among offences, there is no difference as to guilt- all have been brought in guilty before God. Whether was Adam or Eve most to blame 1 The Cherubim separated both equally from the tree of life. There was " no difference" when the rain began to fall and the waters to rise after Noah had entered the ark, the people on the hills might have pitied the people in the valley, but the water rises, and there was " no difference." " All flesh died that moved upon the earth. . . and every man." You may be able just now to get anything that money could buy. Could money have saved you then? Prince and beggar, strong man and weak, bad and good, were all equally swept away. When Jehovah rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire, there was " no difference." It took everyone by surprise. But He overthrew " all the inhabitants of the cities." When Israel was sheltered from the destroying angel's hand, " It came to pass that at midnight Jehovah smote all the first born in Egypt"— beautiful, educated or degraded, ignorant, hardened- there was " no difference." When Jericho's walls fell, all were equally destroyed— " no difference." So there is a day coming when there will be " no difference." All the goats are equally on the left hand ; " there is no difference." " Whosoever was not found in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire "—" no difference." W. P, M. ( To be continued.)
