ROYAL AQUARIUM.— THE VIENNESE LADY ORCHES- TRA opens for the WINTER SEASON at the ROYAL AQUARIUM on MONDAY NEXT, November 30, and will per- form TWICE EVERY DAY in the Orchestra on the Great Central Stage, commencing EVERY' AFTERNOON at 3.0 and EVERY EVENING at 8.0 Their daily programme will com- prise GENUINE VIENNA VALSES of Lanner, Strauss, Fahr- back, Gung'l, Czibulka, Kasan, and others; and the Step- Valses, Marches, Gavottes, Mazurkas, Polkas, Galopades, & c., of the best modern composers; also Overtures and Selections from the best operas and works of Handel, Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Meyerbeer, Mendelssohn, Wagner, Flotow, Verdi, Balfe, Thomas, Bizet, Gounod, Herold, and all the great masters. There is a singular impression abroad that the Viennese Lady Orchestra plays only dance music, whereas such is not the case. They play the works of every composer, and this announcement is intended to open people's eyes, and it is hoped their ears ( if they will come and hear them) to the fact that they play all equally well. It is true that they play beautifully the GENUINE VIENNA VALSES, which none can render properly but a Viennese Orchestra. Old Josef Lanner and his first fiddle, Johann Strauss* father, were the originators of the " Vienna Valse," and were called the " Vienna Valse Kings," and outside Vienna nobody seems able to play their valses. Mdme. Schipek will play Lanner, Strauss, and other Genuine Vienna Valses every day. Also our present Anglo- French and German Crawlers, or Step Valses, of the popular valse composers of the day, which, however, have nothing in common with the GENUINE VIENNA VALSE, and the British Public, when once they find out the real article, will no doubt begin to dance " instead of crawl" the valses which, according to the Viennese, makes the ball of the day appear to them as melancholy as the " Old Men's Chorus" in Gounod's " Faust."
