SPECIAL NOTICE. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. FUGITIVE OFFENDERS. A case has come under the notice of the Editor, in which a person whose apprehension was sought in England, and who was described in the POLICE GAZETTE, gave himself up to the Colonial Police. To avoid such expense, the Editor requests, that if there is reason to believe that a fugitive offender is likely to go to the Colonies, and the prosecutor is un- willing to incur any expense, with a view to obtain his surrender, a notification be made in the communi- cation sent to this Office to the effect that the offender ia not to be arrested beyond the United Kingdom. The necessity for the adoption of such a course will be apparent from the fact that the POLICB GAZETTE is circulated in the Colonies. If we would walk with God, let us see what He tells us about His way. 1. tie says He will cause His people to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way."— Jer. xxxi. 9. 2. He says narrow is His way, and vet " His Commandments are exceeding broad !" 3. He says it is not a smooth path— it passes thro' val- leys, thro' waters, thro' fire, but " I will be with thee," and there shall be a good foothold — it is a highway— ( see Isai. xxxv. 8, and margin). He has trodden every inch, and left His footmarks. 4. He says there may be a " walking in darkness," and yet that " the path of the just is as a shining light." 5. He tells us to walk before Him, after Christ. A trail of Indians follow so closely that their footsteps are as the walk of one man. Christ's footprints are in His Word. 6. He tells us to walk in wisdom, to walk earnestly— the fault is in Christians, not in Christianity, it the world finds ground for reproach. 7. He tells us to. walk circum- spectly, definitely— not one day one thing, and another the next, as if we did not know where to put our foot down, or where we are. 8. He tells us to walk, and not faint— a steady on- going— not briskly on Sunday, and lagging through the wees. 9- He tells us to walk in goodlcompany.— Prov. ii., 20. 10. He tells us to " walk about Zion ; to go round ; to tell her towers ; to mark veil her bulwarks; to consider herpalaces"— i. e., taking a good view of the glory to come.
