POLICE GAZETTE. PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY. NEW SERIES. TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 1885. VOL. II., No. 173. REGULATIONS- 1. All announcement) for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTR, and all communications upon them should be addressed to THE EDITOR OF THE POLICE GAZETTE, GBEAT SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2. Particulars toncerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE G VZETTB, if they are sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. 3. Pariicilars as lo stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 1. In all cases where a reward i « offered the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, an 1 the exact conditions be clearly stated. 5. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of rtolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of Is. 6d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. 6. Eoerii announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an offioer of not less rank than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be required to be inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the thief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may 7. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analagout thereto. 8. Announcements tf all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, ami an alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents. or stolen property to be inserted W the POLICK GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the EdUor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announeetnent fjr insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases, the offirer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, ted I be wholly responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwardtd to as to be received not later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. Tkiu must be cleariy written on one side of the paper only, be in- the usual form, and accompanied by * covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office.
