E. The words " FREEMAN'S ORIGINAL CHLORODYNE " are engraved on the Government Stamp— which is the only GENUINE. " NEVER TOO LATE TO MENI)." Now, I never met with more than one perfect in- dividual in my life, and he talked for an hour and more about himself, and then got into a row and a rage because someone happened to disbelieve a little of what he was saying. Do we want any mending 1 Let me see. First, I think we want to be more real. I went into a cottage one day and a labouring man was testing a sovereign. He dropped it on the brick floor to hear whether it had the ring of reality about it. Have we got the ring of reality about us ? Make- believe and snams may do for man ; realities alone will do for God. It is not where you live, it's how you live. It is not what you do, it's how you do it. It isn't what you've got on you, it's what you've got in you. And it isn't what people say about you, it's what the great God / cnows about you. Another thing, I think we should have more faith in little things. Many are thirsting to do something wonderful. They are discontented with their lot, dissatisfied, ill at ease. They want to dosomething extraordinary, but cannot or will not do the common things which lie close to them ; and little things are not so little as they seem. The acorn grew into the giant oak— the rivulet became part ot the ever- sounding sea—- the word of kind- ness broke the hard heart and won the blessing of one ready to perish. Another thing— I think we want to trouble our heads with our own business and leave other people's alone. If anybody wants to start a story that's likely to be painful or disagreeable, it's always " They say.'' Yes ; they say A. B. is in debt— the parson buys his sermons— the teetotaler drinks gin out of a teapot. Oh, busybodies ! let us keep ^ uiet, and sweep our own doorsteps clean—" it's never too late to mend." And once more, I am sure the world wants more sympathy, more kindness, more love. Dr. Guthrie entitled one of his works " Speak- ing to the Heart." That's what we want— the true secret of success. Forgetting self, let us speak earnestly, _ love deeply, teach practically. There are so » , any little ways in which we may add to the joys of those around us. " It's never too late to mend." " It's never too soon to begin." ENAMELLED IRON CABMEN'S BADGES CAB NUMBERS, CAB FARE ILATES, & c. NUMBERS FOR DOOR. & o. o " POLICE STATION" PLATES. Hackney Carriage Standing Plates.
