A noted writer and thinker, in his autobiography, mentions the time when as a very young child he first came to the consciousness that he was " ME." There dawned on his mind a sense of his individuality and responsibility ; that there was a duty devolving upon him, and that he himself had to fulfil that duty. This feeling never left him, but animated, energised, and directed all his subsequent career. Much in the same way the new- born child of God receives a knowledge of what he is, whose he is, and what is required of iim. Christ died for ME. He loved ME. Gave Himself for ME ( Gal. ii. 20). Christ liveth in ME ( Gal. ii. 20). For ME to live is Christ ( Phil. i. 24). The Lord stood with ME ( 2 Tim. iv. 17). There is laid up for ME a crown ( 2 Tim. iv. 8). It is a wonderful and glorious thought— God for ME ( Ps. vii. 6), performing ( Ps. lvii. 2), sheltering ( Ps. lxi. 3), standing up ( Ps. xxiv. 16), and proving a shield ( Ps. iii. 3)— to ME. Hence I have a consciousness that there is about ME an ever- living, powerful, and all- wise Protector, whom I can call Father, who is God Almighty, and with whom myself — this very ME— can have fellowship. Such is the happy portion of tne believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, who can say, " All things work to- gether for good to ME." ENAMELLED IRON CABMEN'S BADGES; CAB NUMBERS, CAB FARE PLATES.
