All announcements for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, and all communications upon them, should, ' be addressed to THE EDITOR OP THE POLICE GAZETTE, GEEAT SCOTLAND YARD, LONDON, S. W. 2 Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will be inserted in one issue of the POLICE GAZETTE, if they are sufficient to amble action to be taken upon them by another force. 3, Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted in one issue, if sufficient to enable the article in question to be thereby identified. 4 In all cases where a reward is offered the name and address of some person responsible for the pay- ment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. 5, Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15s. per portrait, and of " is. 6 d. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense of engraving on wood. t. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature of an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and, if the nane of such person be required to be inserted, and no warrant is in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief officer of police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. 1. Announcements concerning stolen property must be guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto- A T I O N S. i 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and ar alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars ctncemvng delinquents, or stolen property te be inserted in - ht. POLICE GAZETTE, must, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Editor notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion m the next issue. 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, will be wholi : responsible for any proceedings which may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be, forwarded so as to be roceived n » t later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only, be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, Great Scotland Yard, by cheque, cro'. sed " Drummond $ Co.," l ost Office Order payable at Charing Cross, Postal Order, or in Stamps. 13. Advertisements are accepted for the POLICE GAZETTE through Mr. James Willing, 125, Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will furnish the rates on application. 14. The pale lips moved, And gently whispered " Hush !" then they closed, And life seemed gone :— But yet once more They whispered those thrice- blessed words, in hope To point the parting soul to Christ in Heaven,— " Brother ! the precious blood of Jesus Christ Can cleanse from every sin." Again the pale lips moved, All else was still and motionless, for death Already had his fatal work half done ; But gathering up his quickly failing strength, The dying soldier, dying victor, saicl,— " Hush ! for the angels call the Muster Boll, I wait to hear MY name."— They spoke no more, What need to speak again 1 for now full well They knew on whom his dying hopes were fixed, And what his prospects were ; so, hushed and still, They, kneeling, watched,— And presently a smile, As of most thrilling and intense delight, Played for a moment 011 the soldier's face, And with his own last breath he whispered " HERE !"
