TINSLEY BEOTHERS, 8, CATHERINE STREET, STRAND SLOW AMD SURE! " How was he gettin' on ? Well, lie feared he was only a slow traveller Heavenward. But there ! he'd many troubles and trials— fightin's without, and fears within— and he hoped that his motto was slow and sure— slow and sure. " When the top do spin slow he's sure to come down. ' Tisn't the way the angels told Lot, ' Escape for thy life, tarry not in the plain,' and I don't think we shall get off any easier than he did. Paul says, ' Run the race set before you.' He don't say anything about • creeping, and it be best to stick to the word. Slow • and sure ! Seems to me that everything be the other way about. The old Tempter, whatever other failings he's got, hasn't got that there; he do go about like a great roaring lion, and if we go creepin' along he's sure to spring out upon us all unawares. Time is swift and sure, death is swift and sure, and then the love of Jesus is swift and sure. ' When he was yet a great way off his father saw him and had compassion and ran— rati.' No creepin' then, or walkin' either. ' He ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.' Ah, bless the Lord, that's His way ahfrays, and His way be always best.' DANIEL QUORM.
