The " DAILY TELEGRAPH." of Feb. 7th, 1884, says:- •' No idle boast is involved in the assertion that ' The Popular Educator' has in its various issues played an important part in the education of the people. A new and revised edition of this spirited work has been completed, in six library volumes ; and those homes in which frugality and the love of knowledge, going hand in hand, have gradually acquired so rich a store of varied information, may be congratulated both on the possession of a household treasure, and on the honourable position they occupy in having set a laudable example to their friends and neighbours. It is now many years since Lord Brougham spoke in terms of the highest praise and admiration concerning such works, emanating from the same firm of educational publishers. The value placcd on them by the famous lawyer and universal philosopher, who, with all his drawbacks, was a zealous champion of popular education, and, in this vital respect, a true friend of the people, has certainly not diminished in later years. This, the latest triumph of cheap excellence in literature, may fairly lay claim to the character of completeness in its practical elucidation of the whole range of elementary, advanced, and technical education." %* Prospectuses at all Booksellers, or post free from CASSELL AND COMPANY, Limited.
