INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Wanted for night- poaching and shooting with intent to murder, at Bostocfe, near Middlewich, Cheshire, ori morning of 25th ultimo :—- JOHN RULSE, about 34 or 35 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, dark complexion, black hair, heavy black moustache ( which may be shaved off), no whiskers, if not shaved every day looks very dark, stout build, large round features, rather largo head, and is a labourer ; dressed in pilot cloth jacket and vest, dark cloth trousers. Frequents low public- houses, and plays a concertina or accordian. Information to Mr. Supt. Hindley, County Con- stabulary, Middlewich, Cheshire, who holds a warrant!, for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Decoinber 8. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person at Bradford on 6th instant, for which a man named FRED. TURNER has been appre- hended :— a gent's gold lever stop Watch, centre seconds, white centre, sunk chronograph dial, chronometer balance, full jewelled, 18 carat dome cases, oval shield aud garter oo back of cases, No. on dial 7 | 2914, and on movement 72914. A man about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, had a moustache, and wore dark clothes, was in the company of the above, and has not yet been apprehended. Stolen by means of housebreaking, at Sheldon, 9th inst. : — a Musical Box, 12 ins. by 6 ins, plays seven tunes, light walnut case, the bft end drops down for winding ; a p^ ir of gent's elastic side Boots, patent leather, size 9, recently soled and heeled. Information to Mr. Supt. Yardley, Acocks Green, near Birmingham.— Bow- street, December 13. During the night of 27th ultimo, the parish church at Hornsea was feloniously entered, when tire alms boxes therein were broken open and the contents stolen therefrom. The churchwardens have offered a reward of £ 5 for imfoima- tion that will lead to the conviction of the thief or thieves. Information to Mr. Ben. E. Nay lor, Deputy Chief Constable. A burglary was committed between II p. m.- 6th and 3 a. m. 7th instant, at Linton Lodge, West Street, Reigate ; the thieves regaled themselves with bread and cheese and ale, but upon being disturbed they left behind them in a hedge, near the house, a 6- barre led revolver, 2 screwdrivers, an old chisel, and a pair of pincers. BORSE AND CATTLE STEALING Stolen from a field at Gilfach Hanwnog, during the last 3 months :— I Ewe and 1 Wether, Limbs, a cross between Kerry Hill aud Welsh ; mottled faced, raddled across back in two places, pitched on cross ' E. I.' ear marked, left ear point cut off and slit, snd right a notch in point ; a Mo during the last 3 mouths from Blaincerniog Carno, 4 Ewe Welsh, pitched on nearside ' T. Stolen at Bishops Stortford at 4 p m. on 5th instant:— a large dark brown Mare ( lince recovered), at Oat ley, Essex By a man about 5 feet 8 or 9 iciches high about 2( 5 years of age, clean shaved, rather stout build, and is crippled in the left arm, has the appearance of arr ostler or cabdriver; dressed in black cloth coat and waistcoat, with white waistcoat uuderneath, worsted corduroy trousers, lace- up watertight boots, har8 black felt hat, and blue necktie, tied in a sailor'.-* knot. After selling the horse on 6th instant, he went to Saffron Walden, where he lodged at the White Ilorso Ii n, on the Wednesday night ; he appears to know Leeds well, he left Saffron Waldeu on Thursday morning, by the up train, stating that he WHB going to meet his rather in London, having first supplied himself with a new pair of shoes, new check woollen stnrt, scarf, and dark blue knotted cloth over- coat, all of which he is now weari- g. hiving left his old shoes, shirt, & c. behind ; he is wearing the same trousers as he wore when he stole the horse, and has a scarf pin ( brooch pattern), silver colour. He is also wanted for a robbery at Newmarket, on 28th ultimo, and a robbery oa lst instant, at the Mitre Hote', Cambridge, where he stole a Great- coat, belonging to a cab proprietor, whose pocket- book and name wa a in the stolen coat. Stolen from a field at Abevmu'e, near Newtown, on Sunday night last :— a dark brown horse Pony, - 1 years old, large whit" star in forehead, cross burnt on left hip, about 12 hands high, tail cut to about a foot, long. Information to the Chief Constable, Newtown, Montgomeryshire. — Bow- street, December 11. Found at Budshot Lea on 30th ultimo :— a very small hay mare Pony, aged, hog mane, short tail, white hairs on forehead, white mark on nose, bind feet white, recently shod and in good Condition. The letters ' F R ' or ' E K' clipped on near shoulder with scissors. Supposed stolen. Informa- tion to Supt. Pike, Surrey Constabulary, Farnham.— Bow- st., December 11. Further description of ROBERT CI/ APHAM, wanted on a charge of stealing 6 Bullocks, advertised in Police Gazette of 4th instant. £ 20 reward will be. paid by Mr. EL'iiry Thackray, to any person or persons who t- hall give siuh information as shall lead to the apprehension aud con- viction of the said Robert Clapham, or any other person or persons being the thief or thieves, or for such information as shall lead to a like result. The man wanted for stenling a Horse at Upton Pyne, Devon, advertised in Police G^ z- tte, lst instant, disposed of lhe grey Cob, he exchanged at Crediton, Devon, at Plymouth, ou the 25th ultimo ; he has since stolen a Horse at Ivybridge, Devon ( recovered). He has in his possession a Weymouth £ 5 note of Messrs. Glyn, Currie, and Mills, paid to biui for the horse stolen at Ivybridge. He is 28 years of age, looks very much older, 5 feet 1 iuch high, freckled sallow com- plexion, bioad forehead, small features, blue eyes, brown bair, clean shaved, slight build, erysipelas marks on face, scald marks on back of both legs; has a watch with no hands to it; dressed in a suit of grey tweed, round jacket, tight- fitting trousers ( lighter colour than jacket), small hrowii hard round poll hat, iace- up boots with brass hoops. He i3 in the habit of staying with prostitutes, and leaving the horse he has stolen at an inn. Supposed to bo the man who has stolen five horses in Somerset in October and November last.. Wanted under warrant for larceny as bailee of a Horse Cart, and 300 pieces of Earthenware : — ROBERT WILLIAM GIBSON, of Witton Northwich, hawker, 31 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair and eyes. It is a brown Mare, about 14 hands ; the cart has the name of ' Charles Gilson' upon it. Robt. Gibson left Runcorn on 2ud instant. Stolen on 28th ultimo from Newmarket:— 2 Coats, ono has been found pledged at Bury St. Fdmuuds. By a man - who gave the name of ALFRED TILDE SLY, Cole Street, Manchester, he is about 26 years of' age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion, no whiskers, large nose, and very thick lipb, large cut on left side on the back of the head ; dressed in dark coat, and lightcord trousers. Absconded from Witbycombe on 5th instant, charged on warrant with stealing a grey mixture cloth suit of Clothes, having a tinge of yellow in the mixture; a cloth striped Waistcoat; a pair of cloth topped goloshed elastic Boots ; a broad Necktie and Pm ; a check cotton Shirt, aud some other small articles of apparel:— HENRY DAVEY, 29 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, pale complexion, fair hair, very short, no whiskers, fair light moustache, blind of left eye, which is closed, has been in the Army, and was discharged after the Ashantee War, is much addicted to drink, and has the appearanee of a tramp ; dressed in old light coloured cloth suit, the coat a very Bhort one, very old boots, and cap. The clothing will likely be pawned for drink. Information to Mr. Supt. Durham, Somerset Constabulary, Dunster, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, December 8 Wanted at Bacup, charged with stealing a Purse, con- taining A2, from a dwelling- house at which he lodged on the night cf 5th instant:— a man, about 22 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, fresh complexion, dark hair, and slight dark moustache, one of hia thumbs has been injured ; dressed in dark tweed shooting coat, ribbed cloth vest, and fustian trousers. He has been employed as engine cleaner at Acciington Railway Station, but is now tramping the country. He obtains lodgings at private houses, stating generally that he is a transfer railway servant, and leaves early next morn- ing under the pretence of going to his work. He is Wanted at Staleybridge ( property recovered), and several other places for similar offences, lie is a native of'Newchurch, and has a wife residing at Staoksteads. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Eccles, between 915 am. and 11 a. m. 6th instant :— a gold Lever Watch, gold dial, No. 11040, chased cases, had attached au imitation gold Albert Guard, with gold Locket, blood stone in shape of a shield on one side, and a blue stone with gold masoric emblem on the other side ; a lady's gold Geneva Watch, makers name ' Grey, of Leicester;' a lady's long gold Albert Chain, with broken piece, had attached gold Seal and Key; a lady's long gold Chain, snake pattern ; a pair of lady's gold Earrings, bird pattern, gold fringe at the bottom, and a stone in each ; a gent's gold signet Ring, with initials ' W. P. By a domestic Bervant, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, sloider build, pale face, dark hair, lier back teeth are decayed, five of her upper front teeth are a little apart, which give her the appearance of having pro- minent teeth ; dressed in a dark blue print dress, and black straw hat, with grey feather and two red roses, and may be wearing tho stolen' jacket. The body of a man name unknown, was found in a drain, near Beverley, on 10th instant, having apparently beta drowned not less than 24 hours:— about 35 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches long, proportionate build, full face, dark com- plexion, pockmarked, dark brown hair and moustache, no whiskers, tattooed seven dots iu circle and one in centre right arm, cross about three inches long left aim ; dressed in black cloth coat, with pockets at hips, grey striped vest, with bone outtons, fustiau trousers, strong lace boots, black crocheted - carf, and grey socks. Prison at Northallerton, for 1 month lard labour, on 13th instant, for larceny : — JAMES FLEMING, 32 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow com- plexion, pockmarked, dark brown hair and whiskers, hazel eyes, enlarged joint right wrist; dressed in old blue coat, much worn, grey vest, dark cord trousers, old woollen cap, with peak of same material, and low laced boots, a labourer, tud a native of Ireland.
