Notice.— It is requested that all communications for the purpose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolon property, may bear the Signature of the person requiring or sending tho same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to the Editor, Police Court, Bow Street, London, W. C. *#* Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As no charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all betters addressed to the Editor must be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. The Names and Descriptions of Deserters from the Army, and ef Absentees and DesorterB from the Militia, should be forwarded on War Office Forms 88 and 88A, to the Editor, as above, for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE. Advertisements offering rewards must state clearly:—( 1) The amount of the reward. ( 2) The conditions on which it is payable. ( 3) The person by whom it will be paid. They should be signed or accompanied by a letter, signed by the persons forwarding them They shoidd contain no expressions holding out any expectation of reward for the return of the property, without the apprehension of the offender. It is particularly requested that when, owing either to insufficiency or incorrectness of the address or other- wise, Copies of this Gazette are delivered to persons, to whom they are not addressed, or who are not now entitled to receive them, such Copies may be at once returned through the Post to " The Editor, Bow Street, London." PRISON and POLICE AUTHORITIES are requested te be good enough to inform the Editor of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, & c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Police Gazette" no longer necessary. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Encombe House, Wareham, Dorset, was burglariously entered on the night of 12th instant, and stolen therein:— 1 Necklace, single diamonds. 2 diamond Bracelets, with diamond brooch centres, ( not pairs). 1 diamond Brooch, octagon ruby centre, stone more purple than usual, and slight flaw. 1 square diamond Brooch, that had contained a minia- ture. I large Sapphire Stone, set in gold Brooch. 1 diamond Tiara. 3 small diamond Clasps. Silver- gilt Mounting of Flagon, set with precious stones. 1 large Seal with ivory handle, carved with satyr's head, above 6 inches long. 1 gold Pencil- case, with stone seal on top— anchor and port cullis engraved thereon. 12 silver Table Spoons, crest— coronet and lion's head. II do. Tea Spoons do. do. 1 do. Sugar Basin with 2 handles, do. do. 1 do. do. Tongs do. do. See in Police Gazette of 16th instant. ,£ 500 reward will be paid by the Earl of Eldon to any person giving such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property. Information to Chief Constable Amyatt, Dorchester, Dorsetshire.— Bow- street, August 23. Stolen, by means of housebreaking, at Northfleet, Kent, on 16th instaut:— a black cloth Jacket, pockets at side ; black cloth Vest; pair of black cloth Trousers ; pair of dark mixture cloth Trousers and Vest ; pair of elastic- side Boots ; and a pair of lace- up Boots, nearly new, no nails. Informa- tion to Mr. Supt. Coppinger, Police Court, Chatham, Kent. Bow- street, August 23. INFORMATIONS. FORGERY. Description of JOSHUA SISSON, a watchmaker, wanted at Bolton, under 2 warrants for feloniously puttiug off 2 forged Bills of Exchange, for £ 31 10s. on 12th April, and 26th May, 1880 :— he is about 37 yrs. of age, 5 ft. 5 or G ins. high, medium build, sallow complexion, light brown hair, light coloured whiskers aud beard, and supposed moustache, walks quick and very erect, usually ; dressed in black cloth coat, and vest, mixture trousers, and black hard billycock hat; he formerly kept a jeweller's shop, in Bolton, and may seek employment as a watchmaker, or may emigrate. Infor mation to Chief Constable Holgate, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, August IS. About 11 a. m. on 14th instant, the dwelling- house of George Boulton, of Moddershall, near Stone, was entered, and stolen therein :— a silver English patent lever Watch, No. 6523, maker's name 1D. Price, Birmingham'; half- a- Sovereign in Gold; 10s. in Silver; and about 4s. worth of penny postage Stamps. By a man, about 5 feet 8 inches high ; dressed in dark brown jacket and trousers, the latter much worn about the legs, and soft brown hat. Supposed to be in company with two other men, one of whom wore a green shade over one eye. Information to Mr. Snpt. Crisp, Police Office, Stone, Staffordshire.— Bow- st., Aug. 23. it; a pair of fancy gold Ear- rings, with ruby and pale green stone ; 2 pairs of gold Ear- rings, with coral balls ; a dark brown diagonal cloth top Coat, single breasted, fly front, lined with dark material, velvet collar, one pocket inside, one out- side of breast, two in laps, and ticket pocket; and a black felt Hat. By a man, who pledged one of the rings in York, the following morning :— about 28 or 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, brown hair and moustache, rather thin face, proportionately built; dressed in dark coat, and black felt hat. Informrtion to Mr. Supt. Hunter, N. R. Constabulary Office, Heworth, York.— Bow- street, August 20. Stolen during night of 14th instant, by burglary, at Burford :— a pair of elastic side Boots, have been worn, and have a few flat headed nails outside of the sole and heels,, no seam in front. Supposed by a tramp about 40 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, slight build, rather dark com- plexion, beard aud whiskers shaved off, and hair rather short, as if recently been in gaol; dressed iu an oid hard felt hat, dark coat, cord trousers with a stripe down the outside seam, and a patch on the bottom of each leg behind. Supposed wearing the stolen Boots. Can be identified. Information to Inspector Burton, County Police Station, Burford, Oxon. — Bow- street August 20. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 10 aud 12 a. m. 15th instant, at Basford, Stoke- on- Trent :— a lady's gold Geneva Watch, maker ' Steer, Derby'; twelve silver tea Spoors, marked * B.' on top, and star on undelr side ; a gentleman's gold Ring, 18 carat, with a stone ia which is a small hole on one side; and about £ 7 10s. in Gold and Silver Money. Information to Mr. Supt. Bowen, Stoke- on- Trent, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, August 18. About 5 a. m. on 8th instant a house at New Hinksey was broken into, and stolen :— 3i lbs. of Beef, 2 lbs. of Sugar, 2 ozs. of Tea, and 2 ozs. of Coffee. By 2 brothers, one 25 years, of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark hair, small dark whiskers at'd moustache, thin features, sallow complexion, looks haggard,, is rather deaf, walks upright having belongea'lo the Oxford Militia, low dirty appearance; dressed in old dirty brown, cloth coat, supposed cord trousers, large white wrap round his neck, and round hard felt hat The other 20 years of age, 5 feet 8J inches high, dark complexion and hair, small dark whiskers and moustache, high cheek bones, has a gipsy appearance, walks erect, and belongs to the Oxford Militia ;. dressed in a white slop, light trousers, and cloth cap with peak. Are supposed to be gone harvesting in Buckingham- shire or adjoining counties. Information to Mr. Supt. Hedger, Berks Constabulary, Abingdon.— Bow- street, August 16. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person on the Race Course, on 19th and 20th instant :— A lady's gold Geneva Watch, engraved, 18- carat gold case, No. 50,199. A small silver Geneva Watch, maker Terry, with brass Chain and gold Locket attached, containing photo of a man and woman. A gold Pin, with small black stone in centre. Information to Mr. Supt. Head, Oxford.— Bpw- st., August 23. Stolen from the person at the Goldcar Races, ou 16th inst.: — a gentleman's silver lever Watch, No. 13494, cream coloured dial, gold ornamental hands, seconds hand, engine turned case, nearly new, and swivel broken off. Information to Mr. Supt. Goodall, West Biding Constabulary, Huddersfield.— Bow- street, August 20. Stolen from the person, at mid- night, on 14th instant : - a small gold Geneva Watch, open- face, No. 01691 ; a gold Albert Chain, large links, with a masonic Jewel, and a small bullet encircled." with a gold ring, attached. Also stolen between 8 p. m., 14th, and 9 a. m., 15th instant, from a stable :— a pair of double harness Reins, recently repaired. Stolen from the person at the Ram Fair, Oxford, on 11th instant:— 18 £ 10 Notes on Bassett's Bank, Leighton Buzzard, Nos. 17748, 17758, 17768, 17803, 17814, 17819, 17824, 17825, 17844, 17846, 17868, 17921, 17931, 17932 17933,17935, 17954, and 17960, two of which, Nos. 17768 and 17814 have since been paid into the Banker's London Agents. Information to Mr. Supt. Head, Oxford.— Bow- street, Aug. 18 Stolen from the person, between Market- street, and Belle Vue Gardens, on 12th instant:— a gent's gold lever Watch, white dial, engine turned cases, No. 10885. Infor- mation to Mr. Supt. Bent, County Constabulary Office, Old Trafford, near Manchester,— Bow- st., August 16. Wanted on a warrant for burglariously breaking and entering a dwelling- notice at Upper Sandgate, on 17th inst. : — HENRY GILDEN, bricklayer's labourer, 22 years of age, 5 feet 9 iuches high, dark hair, inclined to curl ; dressed in white slop, light fustian or moleskin trousers, red wrapper or handkerchief round neck ; he left behind a billycock hat, blue lining, aud a pair of military ammunition boots of ' E. K. Militia, No. 1582, dated 1877.' He may be found at a tramp's lodging- house. Information to Mr. Chief Supt. Gill, Town Hall, Folkestone, Kent.— Bow- street, August 23. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Ingrow, Keighley, between 1 and 2 a. m. on 21st instant:— a silver lever Watch, large size, cream- coloured dial, large figures, steel hands and seconds, engine- turned case, capped, brass spring or push to open case ; a gold snake- pattern Albert, 9- carat, with ' J. M? stamped upon swivel ; 3 pairs of drawing Compasses, and two loose legs for another pair. The thief left a red and white cotton pocket Handkerchief in the house. Information to Mr. Supt. Ireland. West Biding Constabulary, Keighley.— Bow- streei, August 23. Stolen during the night of 17th instant, at Thame :— three silver pint Cups, marked 1R. J. C.', two plain and one chased; a double- barrel, central fire Gun, maker's name on lock, ' Boreham, Cambridge'. A man about 35 or 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark complexion, moustache, little or no whiskers ; dressed in loose grey overcoat, dark under suit, low crown felt hat, and wearing a gold ring is suspected ; he was traced to Princes Risborough, whence he booked to Paddington, by the 8.12 a. m. train, and at that time had the Gun ( which he had taken apart) in his possession. Information to the Deputy Chief Constable, County Police Station, Oxford.— Bow- street, August 23. Stolen by means of housebreaking, at Aston Clinton, Bucks, on 17th instant :— a black cloth Coat, pockets at the hips, three buttons down the front; a black cloth single breasted Vest with roll collar ; a pair of black cloth Trousers, much worn, moth eaten down the front. Information to Inspector Andrews, Wendover, Tring, Bucks.— Bow- street, August 20. Stolen from a dwelling house, on the Haxby- road, Clifton, on 11th instant, by means of housebreaking:— a lady's gold lever Watch ( No not known) engraved on back ; a lady's strong gold Guard; a gold Albert Chain, round links, one plain, and the other engraved, but taken off, has been used as a necklet, but bar has been stolen, and may be fitted up again ; a gold Key, with white and amber stones ; a gold. Locket, to hold 6 photos, engraved ; a gold Locket.; with slide for velvet; a gold Brooch sei( with white stones, and pendant attached ; a small gold Pencil- case, engraved ' E. Pollard'; a gold Piu, set with diamonds, on blue enamel ; a gold Pin, pear pattern ; a lady's gold mourning Ring, small diamond in centre ; 2 ladies' gold dress Rings, with diamond in centre, and turquoise ; a lady's gdd Ring, with dark hair plaited round The following articles being a portkm of the property- stolen by means of burglary on the night of 19th ultimo, and which appeared in the Police Gazette of 4th instaut, have been discovered :— a Life Policy £- 2,000, ' London Life Asso- ciation, 81, King William Street, London, No. 1C093, dated 15th July, 1870' ; a ditto, £ 2,000, ' West of England, No. 29958, dated 2nd Mrrch, 1870.' The Life Policy still miss- ing, £ 1400, ' London Life Association, No. 20433, dated 31st March, 1878,' should have been dated ' May' instead of March. Information to the Supt., Detective Office, Exeter, Devonshire.— Bow- street, Auqu> t 1C. Between 11 p. m. 11th and 6 45 a. m.. on 12th ins.., the resi- dence of Colonel Thos. Hunter, of Bainfield, Berks, was. entered aud stolen :— 3 silver- gilt chased small Saucers, one with a ship, one with a man and hound, and one with flower ; 4 silver- gilt Salt Cellars with small coins let in bottom ; 2 antique silver Salt Cellars with gold coins sunk in ; a Quee. o, Anne's 5- Shilling Piece; 4 old silver Coins; 2 military Medals— one with 2 clasps, and one with ' Candabar, 1842, with name of some sepoy, ' 45th Bengal N. I.,' on, fim of Medal; an Indian filigree silver Card Case ; a new silk Umbrella with waterproof cover, ' T. A. H.' stamped on handle; a black Cane with double horse- shoe in silver, 8 inches from tip ; a piece of old Church Plate, usually called 1 Pyx,' fitted with watch works. Supposed by two men :— first about SO years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, stout figure ; dressed in a greasy high silk hat, long black coat, black trousers, and worn out at bottom ; second, about 23 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, brown com- plexion aud hait, with light whiskers and moustache, medium figure ; dressed iu white billy hat, and a brown tweed suit. Information to Mr. Supt. Borlan, Berks Constabulary, Wok- ingham.— Bow- strcet, August 16. The Church at Heapey, and St. Peter's Church, Chorlev, were entered on the night of 6th instant, aud a quantity of property stolen, the whole of which has been recovered, iiaving beeu disposed of on the morning of 7th instant, by tba thief:— who is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, and beaid inclining to sandy, an. t slightly bow legged ; dressed in grey tweed trousers, monkey jacket of same material, with black velvet collar, outside pocket at each side, bound round with braid, black aud puce necktie, lace- boots, the right bOot, slightly torn at the bottom of the lacing, and baid billycock hat. He carried the stolen articles in two blade lugs, and had a large bunch of keys with him. He auswers the description, of, and ia supposed to be, RICHARD PICKERING, who has bee'n several times convicted of similar offences, and who escaped from H. M. Prison, Preston, on 4tli August, 1879. During the night of 12th instant the Rectory at Willington, near Dartford, was broken and entered and a large pair of silver candle Snuffers stolen therefrom, • 4 P O L I C E GAZETTE/ August 23 - — _ — elaborately embossed, with roses and flowers, there is a spring in the middle to take the wick. Information to Mr. Supt. Tread, Kent Constabulary, Dartford.— Bow- street, Aug. 16. Stolen, by means of burglary, at Betchworth, between 1215 and 7 am. on 14th instant:— a square carriage Repeater- Clock, with glass all round ; a silver Sugar Sifter, crest— a warrior's head ; a child's Rattle with coral handle and pearls ; and a damask Table Cloth, marked ' T. B. H. 12.1879 ' m red cotton. Information to Mr. Supt. Lambert, Surrey Consta- bulary, Dorking.— Bow- street August 16. Stolen by means of housebreaking, at Iford, in Christ- church, Hants, oa 11th instant:— 1 gold open- face, English lever Watch, No. 35255 ; 2 silver Table Spoons, engraved ' Presented to Mr. Robert Hunt, for the best field of turnips not less than two acres'; 1 pair of silver Sugar Tongs, marked ' J E H.'; 2 silver Tea Spoons, marked ' J. E. H. ; 1 gold Locket, marked'M. A. H.' on the outside; and about £ 12 in cold and silver. Supposed by two men, one about 50 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark complexion, very dark hair, whiskers, and moustache, rather stout figure ; dressed in a dark suit, and silk hat. The other about 45 years, of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, pale complexion, dark round the eyes dark hair, whiskers, and moustache ; dressed in black cloth suit, and silk hat. Both men are of Jewish appearance. Also stolen by means of housebreaking, at Bournemouth, on 11th instaDt :— 1 carriage Clock, 6 inches by 4 inches, glass frame, brass handle on the top; 1 other Clock, mahogany case, 6 inches by 4 inches, round dial; 1 black Bag, letters ' M M. W.' on the side ; 1 silver Biscuit Basket, round shape ; 1 silver Pencil Case, plain seal at end; 1 gold Pencil Case, plain seal at end, the property of J. W. Williamson, M. A. The 2 men suspected of committing the robbery at Iford same date, are also susnected of committing this robbery. Information to Mr. Supt. Brinson, Hants Constabulary, Birgwood.— Bow- street, Auqust 16. A cottage at Basbury, Hereford, was entered on 12th instant, and a silver hunting Geneva Watch, No. 39233, with long silver Chain attached, stolen therein. Also a cottage at Ledbury, was entered through a wiudow, and a new pair of man's strong nailed Boots stolen therein, on 13rd instant. A man about 26 years of age, dark complexion, no whiskers; dress, dark coat, and black hard hat ; and a woman about the same age ; dress, black jacket and hat, light hair and complexion, hawker of needles, are suspected. Information to Mr. Supt. Blunsdon, Ledbury, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, August 16. HORSE AID CATTLE STEALING Remanded until 23rd instant, charged with stealing a Cow : HARRY PRYOR ( name supposed fictitious) 5 feet 5 inches high, 22 years of age, dark brown hair, brown eyes, sallow complexion, long features, small dark moustache, beard of about a week's growth on chin, left front upper tooth brokeu ; dressed in black diagonal cloth coat and vest, brown mixture cloth trousers, lace- up shoes, worn over at heels, aud small black hard felt hat. States he has friends at 7, White Lion- street, Islington, London. Information to Deputy Chief Constable Denson, Aylesbury, or to Inspector Sutton, Linslade, " Bucks.— Bow- street, August 20. Stolen from a field near Kidderminster, on the night of 5th instant:— a- ram Lamb, Lincoln breed, a punch marked on ears, and raddle mark on back. Information to Mr. Supt Wheeler, Police Station, Stourbridge, Worcestershire. — Bow- st., August 16. Stolen at Halesowen, on 4th instant :— a light grey Mare, aged, about 15 hands high, cut tail, and has a number of brown or condition spots about the body. Information to Mr. Supt. Kemp, Halesowen, near Birmingham.— Bow- street, August 16. hat, and elastic- side boots ; he has been in the army, and said to be now in the army reserve; he represents himself to be a policeman or detective officer, is single, an Irishman, and has friends residing at Newcastle- under- Lyme. Information to Mr. Supt. Hockney, Brownhills, or to Sergeant Cockerell, Police Offioe, Cannock, near Stafford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Auqust 20. Wanted, charged on a warrant with embezzlement :— W. D. GARROD, wine merchant's traveller, late of No. 3, Spurstone- place, Hackney, 36 years of age, 6 feet high, slim build, sallow complexion, dark hair, whiskers and moustache, has thick lips ; dressed respectably. Information to Inspector McWilliam, City Police, Old Jewry, E. C.— Bow- st., Aug. 20. Stolen from the Truro Railway Station, on 17th instant: a black Bag, containing a quantity of Dental Instruments. By a man 40 or 45 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, light sandy complexion, hair and whiskers ; dressed in lightish trousers, sort of dark brown coat, and supposed high black hat. The articles were, within two hours after they were missed, offered to be pledged for £ 3 10s. Information to Mr. Supt. Angel, City Police Station, Truro, Cornwall.- Bow- street, August 20. Wanted on a warrant for stealing Letters, & c., from the post office at Arundel, on 18th ultimo r JOHN DEARLING, a native of Arundel, 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slight build, walks very upright, black hair, bushy black whiskers and moustache, shaved chin, sallow complexion, turned up nose ; was dressed in black hard felt hat, light coloured coat, pockets on hips, light trousers, and old thin lace- up boots, turned up at the toes; was a rural letter carrier for about a fortnight. Information to Mr. Supt. Puttock, Police Station, Littlehampton, West Sussex Con stabulary.— Bow- street, August 20. Description of JOHN HORN, alias EPHRIAM EVAN TUCKER, charged with stealing at Fordington, on 13th instant, a pair of men's home- made water- tight nailed Boots, much worn, with toe plates off :— he is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fair complexion, thin features, very light hair, blue eyes, sandy whiskers ; a native of Devon ; dressed in moleskin trousers and vest, dark monkey jacket, white jumper underneath, Dorset Militia shirt and socks, black donkey hat, and scarf round neck as worn by navvies with colour washed out; seeking work at turnip hoeing. Information to Head Constable Coward, Borough Police Office, Guildhall, Dorchester, Dorset, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, August 20. Wanted at Bacup, on a charge of stealing a Half- Sovereign ( as bailee) :— a woman, about 25 or 30 years of age, 5 feet high, fresh complexion, slightly freckled, dark hair, and rather stout; stated she came from Burnley, was hawk- ing earthenware, and accompanied by a mau of whom no description can be given. Information at County Police Office, Bacup, Lancashire.— Bow- street, Auaust 20. is supposed to be employed in the herriDg trade, probably at Yarmouth, or Lowestoft. Information to Mr. Supt. Burrows, March, Isle of Ely, Cambs, who holds a warrant for his arrest. — Bow- street, August 18. Wanted on a warrant for embezzlement:— FREDK. BURT, 23 years of age, about 5 feet 8^ inches high, full face, dark complexion, and no whiskers; when last seen dressed in dark drab suit, black hard felt hat, and black necktie. Photo can be seen at Waterloo Station. Information to Mr. Supt. Hoskison, London and South Western Railway, S. E. — Bow- street, August 16. FELONIES. ( Not otherwise described.) Description of a man charged with attempting to obtain Money by false pretences, by presenting a begging book, on the 14th instant at Hay, Breconshire— containing a tale that he had a child suffering from cancer, discharged from the Brecon Infirmary, and was anxious to place it in the Bronipton Cancer Hospital. The book is represented to bear the signature of several gentlemen in the neighbourhood, and amongst others that of thejname of Rev. W. L. Bevan, for the sum of 12s. Gd. :— he is about 50 years of age, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches lii^ h, fair complexion, sandy whiskers, nearly turned grey, has a scrofulous arm, which he states he had burnt iu a cotton ship ; he also states that he has been a sailor ; dressed in old dirty clothes, and puts up at common lodging- houses. Absconded from their loggings at Eastbourne, during the night of 16th instant, charged with stealing a pair of Wellington Boots ( recovered) :— One about 26 or 27 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, stoutish figure, by trade a bricklayer ; dressed in black boulder crowned felt hat, dark coat, and worsted cord trousers. The other about 24 or 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, sallow complexion, dark brown eyes, dark hair, propor- tionate figure, walks erect ; stated he had been a soldier in the 16th Lancers, but now works as a bricklayer ; dressed in black boulder crowned felt hat, pepper- and- salt coloured coat, corduroy trousers, and lace- up boots, with perforated toe- caps. Charged with stealing from his lodgings at Wyrley, on 9th instant, nineteen Shillings :— THOMAS KING, 27 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, slender build, fresh com- plexion, dark brown hair, no whiskers or moustache ; dressed in dark ribbed cloth suit, plaid shirt, black hard billycock Wanted, by warrant, charged with stealing £ 1,300, the moneys of his employers :— ALEXANDER SLEDDALL, cashier, 30 years of age, but looks older, 5 feet 10 inches high, weight 15 stones, handsome features, well proportioned build, stout full habit, dark eyes, the whites of which are tinged as those of a half caste, olive complexion with no red tint, very small pimple under one eye, jet black thick hair, whiskers, beard and moustache, all trimmed pretty close, hands and body completely covered with hair, slight skin eruption on palms of his hands, stolid composed demeanour, even under excitement, speaks as though his tongue was a little too large, slight watery swelling left point of forehead, slight permanent swelling from an old tooth in the right cheek, very small hands and feet, walks erect with swinging gait, and swings his arms, rather deaf left ear ; generally dressed in thick black clothes, and black silk or round hard felt hat; fond of drink and loose flash company ; when in drink has a laughing scream, and snores heavily in sleep. Supposed left Liverpool on the night of Friday, the 28th May ; was seen at North London Station at 4' 30 in the afternoon of the 29th, and at the Westminster Aquarium, with a woman, about 10' 30 the same night. £ 100 reward, 5 per cent, on money recovered, and expenses guaranteed, will be paid for the arrest of Sleddall by his late employers. Prison, Stafford, till 24th instant, after which he will be committed to the Quarter Sessions on a charge of stealing Harness from a stable in the night time at Walsall Wood :— THOMAS WEBB, 49 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, and small whiskers, no beard or moustache, large face, medium build ; a labourer; dressed in black soft billycock, grey trousers, pepper and salt jacket, dark vest, lace- up boots, all old aud much worn ; is married, and a native of Bloxwich, Walsall. In 1877, at Stafford Sessions, he got 6 months for horse stealing; Stafford Sessions, 1879, he got 12 months for stealing wheelbarrows. Since his release from prison, seven weeks ago, he has been in Derbyshire, Warwickshire, and Staffordshire, and it is supposed he has committed offences in the two former counties.
