8G PORT OF SLIGO— continued. ACCOUNT of all MONIES received and expended in respect of PILOTS or PILOTAGE. Note.—' The Harbour Commissioners pay pilot masters and rent of watchhouses out of other Harbour funds, and the amounts are not deducted from pilotage payments. 23 January 1878. Moses Monds, Secretary. PORT OF TRALEE. EXTRACT from BYELAWS and REGULATIONS. 1. ALL vessels desiring- to enter the canal, shall come to, outside the mouth of the canal, and shall there remain, until directed to enter by the harbour master, under a penalty not exceeding 5 I. for each offence, to be paid by the master or other person in command. 2. That all ships, vessels, steam boats, or river crafts, lying and being in the harbour, or at the quays or docks thereof, shall be placed in such manner as the harbour master may direct, and shall be subject to the orders of the harbour master, in regard to moving or shifting, and in regard to the extent of accommodation masters or persons in charge may require from each other under a penalty not exceeding 5 I. 22. Masters or owners of vessels having complaints against the pilot are desired to state them immediately, in writing to the harbour master or secretary, that the same may be laid before the Commissioners. 23. That masters of vessels frequenting the port be directed not to employ any pilot but such as can produce regular license from the Commissioners. 24. That any person acting as a pilot, not having a regular license from the Commissioners, shall be subject to a penalty for each offence, not exceeding 5 I, 25. All persons guilty of assaulting, striking, resisting, obstructing, or molesting the harbour master, lock master, or his or their assistants, the collector of dues, or any other officer in the execution of his duty, and all masters, pilots and other persons having the command of any sailing or steam vessel, acting contrary to the directions of the harbour master, or neglecting his signals, in relation to placing or shifting their vessels in the harbour or canal, or in any way hindering them in the execution of their duty, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding 5 I., and the harbour master, together with his assistants, are hereby strictly enjoined to see that the whole of the foregoing Regulations shall be punctually observed by the parties concerned, or in default thereof, to be dealt with by the Commissioners as they shall deem lit, pursuant to the provisions of the Tralee Harbours Acts. 26. That all pilots be particularly desired to aid and assist the harbour master in enforcing the Harbour. Regulations; penalty for neglect of same, 2 I. for each offence. RATES of PILOTAGE. For every vessel comiag from foreign, on draft of water, per foot - For every coaster or cross channel trader, per foot ------ Distance money payable to pilots from outside the Hog Islands to the Anchorage From between the Hogs and Mucklough Rock to the Anchorage From Mucklough to the Anchorage For such services in tempestuous weather, or special dangerous cases, payment to be made on the award of the harbour master. BALLAST to be supplied as follows : Limestone or gravel ballast - - - - Clay or mud ballast 1 ~ » Ballast lighterage to Samphire Roads * ° » A cham- e of 1 I. per day will be made for all lighters discharging ballast on board vessels at Samphire Roads, when detained beyond one day.
