Wanted on a charge of steading a. Horse ( recovered) the property of Mr. James Waite, of Thorpe, near Easington,. on the night of 13th instant : a man about 32 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion, full red face, brown hair, cut short, dark ginger bushy whiskers and moustache, and stout figure ; dressed in a blue cotton jacket, light cloth trousers, light cap, the crown of which fastens down to the peak with a loop. Stolen during the night of 1: 8th instant, from General Phillips, J. P., at Burntwood : a black- faced yearling Shrop- shire Sheep, marked ' R. N. P.,' nearly worn off. Absconded, on 15th instant, stealing a Donkey and Cart from Ledbury,: a man about 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark hair and complexion, a little whiskers on chin, grey jacket, black cloth vest, cord trousers, soft high crowned black hat; 7 or 8 blue marks 011 left arm, supposed to be a tinker and umbrella mender. Black Donkey with light nose, hair rubbed off on top of jie'ck, under collar ; Cart painted blue, with name of ' J. Gregg, Ledbury,' and ' . John . Dobbs,' painted 011 side underneath., and Harness j. 2 Sack Bags, one pair of steelyards, with ring to hold up with. Between 12 midnight on 17th, and 7 a. m. on 18th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Samuel Massey, Church Lawton, was broken and entered and there were stolen therein : a double- breasted black cloth Top Coat, four pockets outside, Mine inside left breast, lined with red and white woollen plaid im- ieli worn, and to fit a boy about IS years of age : a Shirt, cotton and woollen mixture ; and a grey cloth Billycock. Supposed by a boy- vrho had beta servant at the house about eight weeks' and was discharged on 17th instant. ' He is 16 years of age, 4 feet 1" 0 incites high, fresh complexion, dark brown hail', scabs on both sides of his neck, tattooed on both arms, and an anchor on one; dressed in cord trousers and . clogs, and stolen coat and hat. Description of THOMAS WINTER PRICE, late rate collector for the parish of St. Margaret's, Leicester, charged on a warrant - with embezzlement : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, very small light blue eyes, wears spectacles, thin featured, ruddy complexion, light sandy hair ( parted in centre), whiskers and moustache, and also wears a small tuft under lip, but lie may now be clean shaved; is tattooed on one of his arms with the rose, shamrock, and thistle, and the letters ' E. B.' ; skin much freckled ; dressed when last seen in a rough blue Ulster overcoat, dark rough mixture suit, and black soft billycock hat, which he wears a little on one side. He was formerly in the 60th Rifles, and is fond of talking upon Indian subjects; is a. good musician and plays the euphonium. A reward of j£ 10 will be paid to any person who will give information that will lead to his appre- hension. Absconded, on the 19th instant, from Tunbridge Wells, charged on a warrant with stealing two pairs of women's new high- legged Button Boots ( one pair recovered) a jour- neyman shoemaker, who gave the name of HARRY WILLIAMS, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, rather sandy hair, slight sandy whiskers and moustache, fair complexion, rather weak in the knees, and limps with the right leg when walking, dirty appearance, and is accompanied by a- woman with an infant in arms. The boots not re- covered are a pair of high- leg kid, with nine buttons, high heels, and marked 8/ a. Information to be given to the Police Office, Tunbridge Wells, Kent..— Bow- sircet, Jan. 25 Stolen, 011 llth instant, from- Madley, a Blacksmith's Apron, nearly new, bottom rounded out and corners fringed : by a blacksmith, 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, pale face, light brown hair parted in centre, small light whiskers and moustache, globe mark on right arm ; dressed in dark Dressing Comb; a bag of Coins ( some copper, some silver, and some foreign) ; an Opera Glass. Two men were seen to leave the premises at a, quarter to nine, each carrying a parcel; thev were dressed in dark clothcs and low round hats, and appeared to be about 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or / inches high. Thev left behind them a steel jimmy 13 inches loii « - and, I- inch wide. Stolen on the 22nd instant, from Albion- street, King's Cross : a dark bay'Mare; a set of brass- mounted Harness; coat ( torn on left breast), dark waistcoat and trousers, blue shirt, elastic side boots, and black hat, all much worn ; gene- rally put his hand to his mouth, and scrapes his throat before speaking.. Stolen about 10th instant, from Llanveynoe Clodock : a dark brown Top Coat, double breasted, velvet collar, right pocket burnt, and a small patch put m place. Supposedly an Irishman, 52 years of age, 5 feet ( i inches high, stoutly built, fresh complexion, grey hair and clean shaved ; dressed in white slop, clean woollen cord trousers, dark hard hat, and strong heavy nailed boots ; is a labourer and tramps the country seeking work at farm houses, and is supposed to be wearing the stolen coat. Absconded, charged on a warrant with stealing Wear ing Apparel: ' JOHN BUTTON, 56 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, stout build, grey hair and whiskers, bald head ; dressed in high hat, dark overcoat with velvet collar, respectable appearance. Description of a man wlio gave the name of WILLIAM DAVIS, supposed to be a native of Lancashire, who ab- sconded from Wells on 15th instant, charged with stealing a blue cloth Reefer Jacket ( recovered) and a faded red anil yellow cotton Handkerchief, tbe property of George Henry Cox, a fellow lodger : he is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair and whiskers at the sides of face, shaves top lip and chin, square shoulders, and walks erect; dressed in old black cloth jacket ( much faded), brown sleeved waistcoat, light cord trousers, light faded handkerchief round neck, and white soft bowler hat with black band round it, or black bowler hat, and Cossack boots heavily clumped. He stated that he had been a soldier, and it is supposed that he is a deserter, as he left a shirt at his lodgings branded ' W. Davis, B. A., 1876,' and some other figures which have been defaced. He will likely seek employ- ment at stone- breaking. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bisgood, Somerset Constabulary, Glaston- bury ; or to Sergeant Vowles, wells, who holds a warrant tor his apprehension.— Bow- street, January 21. Absconded on 14th instant., from Kilburn, stealing a £ 5 Bank of England Note, and £ 3 3s. Gd. in Gold and Silver : a man, tailor, 21 years of age, 5 feet G inches high, dark com- plexion and hair; dressed iu long black Ulster, plaid suit, hard felt hat, and carried a silver watch and chain ; is a native of Yeovil, Somerset.- Metropolitan Police, X Division. January 21. Absconded, charged on a warrant with embezzling various sums of Monev belonging to bis employers, on lst instant : LEONARD STEPHEN DICKENSON, late manager to the Butchers' Hide and Skin Company ; he is about 34 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, thin, black hair, whiskers, beard and moustache, unshaven, has a slight impediment iu . his speech, or lisps on commencing a conversation, has rather a short quick step and rolling gait; dressed in a brown suit, with blue overcoat, and top hat : resided atlodgings. it the top of Constitution hill, Birmingham. A reward of £ 50 will be paid for such information as shall lead to his apprehension. Information to be given to Major Bond, Chief of Police, Birmingham. Bow- street, January 21. Absconded, charged on a warrant with embezzlement : A. R. COOGAN, late of 7, Orchard- street, Kensington, 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 or .9 inches high, slight dark whiskers, sallow complexion, and stoops a little ; dressed respectably, usually wears a round hat, and is a clerk. May be accom- panied by his wife and a child, G months old. Mrs. Coogan is a tall, fine woman, about 34 years of age, speaks broken English, and is supposed to be a German lady. Information to be given to the Inspector. City of London Police, Detective Department, 20, Old Jewry, E. G.— Bow- strect, January 21. Description of CHARLES BATES, for whose appre- hension a warrant has been issued at Hastings, for stealing a pair of Trousers and a pair of Boots, at Hastings, on 9th instant : he is about 20 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, stout figure, no whiskers or moustache ; dressed in a white slop, cord vest and trousers, and billycock hat; is a carter, and a native of Kent. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Glenister, Hastings, Sussex. — Bow- street, January 21. dark cloth coat, white moleskin or browft cloth trousers, black hard felt hat, and iace- up boots. Supposed to have crone to Birkenhead or Liverpool. Information to be given to Detective Inspector Williamson, County Police Office, 110, Foregate- street, Chester, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, January 21. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONS. Description of WILLIAM WILLIAMS : about 35 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and eyes, medium build, tattooed on left arm ' R C.,' heart and anchor, and a cross, also a coal mark on muscle of right arm ; dressed in dark brown pilot jacket ( much worn), dark cloth cap with cloth peak, dark blue vest ribbed, brown broad- ribbed cord t rousers, white muffler, and clogs. Also of ANN WILLIAMS, his wife : 32 years of age, 5 feet high, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes, rather stout built, rather good looking, tattooed on right arm ' W. W.,' double hearts and an arrow across them ; dressed in a dark cloth jacket trimmed with sealskin, black dress with three flounces, black bonnet, and dark knitted scarf with blue knotted border. They were both arrested at Tutbury, on the 21st instant, charged with hawking without a licence. A quantity of men's scarves were found in their possession. Both were committed to Stafford Gaol for 14 days each. The prisoners will again be brought before the magistrates at Burton- on- Trent, on 5th February, on a charge of larceny. Missing from his home, since the 20th ultimo, at Pon- tardawe, Glamorganshire: RICHARD HOPKINS, cattle dealer, 38 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, blue eyes, rather aquiline nose, thin features, small whiskers, no moustache or beard ; dressed in a dark grey tweed overcoat, dark mixture undercoat, light woollen cord trousers, dark billycock hat, arid strong lace- up boots with nails.
