Found on the afternoon of 2ud instant, in the Steyne Gardens, Worthing: the dead body of a newly- born full grown female Child, wrapped in a piece of old black maroon, aBd tied in a piece of old black alpaca. The child had been dead about 10 days. At the coroner's inquest a verdict of ' Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown' was returned. Stolen about six weeks ago, from a field at the Won Farm, Bettws, Salop: twelve Hogs, of the Kerry Hill breed, shorn tails, marked with 1 P.' on both thighs, round punch mark in left ear, and small heart on back; and a Ewe, with ' P.' on both sides, small heart on back, and round punch mark in left ear; the property of Mr. Thomas Price, and can be identified. Arundel, was broken into, and £ 4 7s. 9d. stolen thereiw : by two men named CHARLES GENT and HENRY SUMMERS, Gent has been apprehended, and k remanded till 10th instant. Summers is still at large, and is 36 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown hair, bazel eye?, and clean shaved; dressed in dark clothes, and cloth cap. Is an Irishman, and pretends to talk French, was ia the training stables at Mitchel- grove, near Findon, as a helper. He was sentenced to 3 months hard labour last December for stealing a Coat from the stables there. He also goes by Ihe name of JOCKEY. A warrant has been usued for his apprehension. Description of AMOS JANES, charged with stealing at Luton, on 14th ultimo, one truss of Hay : he has been in the army and is supposed 1o have his initials on one arm ; he is about 29 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fresh com- plexion, light hair, hazel eyes', no whiskers,, small moustache, very high Cheek bones, and his face was scratched ; drer sed in dark rough cap, fustian trousers, short drab coloured slop, with band at the waist; carried a bundle containing a nearly new black Overcoat, skirt poeket each side, and a ticket pocket on right side, Supposed to have gone in the direction of Lincolnshire or Leicestershire, where he has friends. Matthey, Supposed by a man who visited the hotel and ordered luncheon, and left hurriedly, 35 or 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache, military appearance ; dressed in dark coat and trousers, and sealskin waistcoat. Stolen between 5 p. m. 29th and 6.30 a m. on 30th ult., from a workshop in Oxford : a carpenter's Work Basket, containing three Planes, one Trying, one Smoothing, one Jack j a foot Square, an Oilstone, a Brace and Bits, a Rabbet Plane, a 1- inch round Plane, three Saws, one Hand, Tenon, and Pad, and several Chisels, Gimlets, & c, ail marked ' W. Brown.' Supposed by a man, between 20 and 30 years of j. ige, about 5 feet, 5 inches high, fresh complexion, and has the appearance of a striker or smith; dressed in dark cloth coat, cord vest and trousers, dir ty, and sugar loaf billyeosk hat. information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Head, Oxford.— Sow- street, December 3. Stolen from a cottage, at Cradley, on 20th October last: a small grey waterpjojf Cloak, with large cape and three rows of black braid trimming on it; the property of Olive Ann Oliver. By JAMES TILLEY, who absconded on the following morning, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, medium build, light complexion, light brown hair, small sandy whiskers and moustache, lost some of his toes, and Iras a slight impediment in his speech ; dressed in an old mole- skin monkey jacket or slop, light cotton cord trousers, patched on the knees, light- coloured cap with peak of same material, and old lace- up boots. He has worked as a farm labourer and on the Worcester and Bromyard Railway, and states that he has worked in iron works in Wales and Staffordshire. His father is living near ths Greyhound Inn, Norton, Stour- bridge. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent. Ovens, Police Station, Bromyard, near Worcester, or to Ser- geant Smith, Police Station, Cradley, Malvern, Worcester- shire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, December 3. Stolen on 30th ultimo, from a public- house in Oxford : a black diagonal cloth cutaway Coat, pockst inside left breast, and one on each hip outside, double- breasted; a pair of orange- coloured Trousers, bound round bottoms; a black felt Hat, red lining, ' Hartington' on crown; a silver- mounted Meerschaum Pipe; and various coloured twill Handkerchief. Supposed by two men, or. e 24 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, and carried a concertina in a blue hand- kerchief ; dressed in short black jacket, cord trousers, heavy nailed boots, and eld black felt hat. The other about 20 yr?. of age, 5 feet 1 itch high, carried a flag basket, and supposed to be a mason's labourer ; dressed in short grey jacket and vest, email white ditto underneath, cord trousers, heavy nailed boois, and cloth cap.
