Suspicion is attached to a n? aa who jostled against him, from 60 to 70 jears of fg<\ middle height; dressed in black cloth coat, and black silk hat. Was in the company of a young man. Charged with robbing two ladies on the highway at High- street, Cheadle, about 3 p. m. on 18th kstant; a m3n, 6 feet 4 or 5 inches high, dark complexion and large dark whiskers, 35 to 40 years if age; dressed in light- coloured clothes, black tommy hat, strong boots, and carried a large walking stick. He imposes on Jewish congregations with a tale that he has been in the Dutch Army, and bad absconded because he had struck an officer. Supposed to be in the North of England. He is a native of Bailiwick near Bath, and is known to Messrs. Edkur and Son, Bristol, in whose employ he had been, for the past twelvemonth as a labourer. He may be travelling the country with Jane McAllister, 21 years of age, ordinary height., brown hair, fresh complexion, who has a child about 12 months old, with her. He has been several times con- victed of theft, and in 1875 he enlisted under the name of JAMES STEEL, and he may again adopt that name. Description of ROBERT FENTON, absconded, charged with entering a watchmaker's shop at Hull, and stealing a number of Watches, &::. : he is about 21 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair ( cut; short), no whiskers, slight moustache ; dressed in a blue pilot cloth monkey jacket, plus guernsey under, yellow cord trousers fitting tight, laced boots, aud Scotch cap with peak and tassel at top. He is a sweep, and belongs to Newark. He made his escape at Grimsby on 22nd instant, when a woman was offering a watch in pledge. Stolen about 10 a. ot., on 20th instant, from a bedroom at Gilead Mansion, Mount Ephriam, the property of Baron Hochepied de Larpent: an old- fashioned open- face gold lever Watch, with steel hands, maker Barrand, Cornhill, No. 2 | 3157, a email gold Chain, with Seal with three sides, and revolves on a swivel, a Telescope, gold Pencil Case, and Penholder attached ; also a steel Chain with bar. Supposed by a man, about £ 0 years of age, 6 feet high, dark complexion and beard ; dressed in dark clothes, long overcoat, and high sijk hat. Had the appearance of a foreign jew. Description of JAMES FITZGERALD, a pensioner from the 9th Lancers, absconded charged with stealing J40 and. a silver lever Watch, the property of John McCarrick, on 21st instant : He is 35 years of age, 5 feet 10£ inches high, sandy grey hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion, a sword cut on left arm near hand. Born at Westminster, and supposed to be in company with John Rouaell, another pensioner from the East India Company. A large sapphire surrounded with 3 circles of diamonds. A richly enamelled red Chatelaine in shape of egg, in wh'ch is a gold ball containing small bird, coronet and ruby ring. A thin Bracelet of large pearls and diamonds. Sapphire and diamoud Earrings. A turquoise and pearl Necklace and Earrings, and a Stud.
