Information to be given to Head Constable High, Borough Police, Godalming, Surrey.— Eo ^- street, September 26. Further description of the two men supposed to have committed the burglary at Mr. J. J. Mortlock's, Bishops Stortford, on the night of 17th insiant: they are believed to have committed a similar burglary on the night of 20th inst., at the house of Miss Proctor, Ware, where they were heard at 3 am. by the inmates, and decamped, taking away a plated Snuffer Tray, a plated Pepper Stand, and a plated Mustard Stand. These men, it is believed, were seen at 8 a. m. on 21st instant, near Widford Railway Station, Herts, wearing the two coats stolen from Mr. Mortlock's. One about 25 yeais of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, wearing a cheese- cutter cap, blue dress coat, plaid trousers, and side- spring boo! s The other rather taller, about 40 years of age, wearing a light grey Overcoat, hard felt hat, plaid trouaeis, and light boots. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Ryder, Police Station, Bishops Stortford, Herts.— Bow- street, September 26. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 9 am [ and 3 p. m. on 19th instant, from Skelton, Howden : 2 top Coats, one long blue cloth, three pockets outside, velvet collar, and buttons covered with black cloth. The other a blue pilot Reefer, bound with black braid, black velvet collar, bone buttons, four pockets outside ; also a check Waistcoat, a& d a cotton Shirt, with red, white, and blue stripes. JONES alias JOHN BARFIELD, described in the Police Gazette of 14th instant, charged with assaulting and wounding with intent to murder Joe Fawcett, licensed victualler, at Great Chart, Kent, on the evening of 17th instant : he is 24 to 26 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 ms. high, fresh complexion, full eyes, light moustache, to whiskers ( it is supposed his eyes are blackened from a blow and face may bs scarred), and walks fiat- footed ; dressed in long brown overcoat or ulster, dark snuff- coloured corduroy trousers, wore two rings ( one an oblong shape) on his hand ; had with him a small Yorkshire silver rougb- grey terrier bitch, answers to the name of ' Lady,' ears cropped and tail ditto. By a man, who gave the name of BUTLER, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fresh complexion, full eyes, light moustache, no whiskers, walks flat- footed; dreoStd in loag brown ulster coat, check trousers, and light felt hat; wore two rings ( one an oblong shape) on his hand. The same man as advertised in Police Gazette of 14tb and 24th instant in the name of GEORGE JONES, alias JOHN BARFIELD, for offences committed at Hinckley, Leicester, and Great Chart, Kent. Between 9 a. m. and 4 p. m on 24th instant, the dwelling house of Joseph Cook, of Cradley, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a small white handle pocket Knife ; a HC& BSK & M1& OATOS BX& ULXaarGI Stolen during the night of 19th instant, from a field at Alfrick, near Worcester : a light- coloured Donkey- mare, aged, with white face and belly, tail cropped ; also stolen during the night of 21st instant, from a field at Moorend, Tibbertoa : a email very light- coloured Donkey- mare. Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Tuxford on the night of 12th or early on the morning of 13th instant: a light bred chestuut Horse, white face, aged, about 15 hands high, broken winded, scar OH inside of right fore leg and on left fore fetlock, the hair not grown over, and blown a little in fore legs; and a light bred brown Irish Horse, about 3 years old, white star on forehead, about 14 hands high, black legs, has been broken to harness, and two scars near the fetlock inside left hind leg, the hair not grown over. Supposed by a man. 20 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair; dressed in a rough cap, with the esfr- lapa tied over the head, old white slop, and cord trousers, with strong lace- up boot?. On 22nd instant, between 5 and 8 a. m., a house was entered in Chester, by means of breaking a pane of glass, and stolen : a small lever Clock, octagnal shape ; a Table Cover, green ground, with black flower ; two Skirts, one dark green, the other dark claret colour ; a white flannel Petticoat; and 3 Books in Welsh, two vols ' Methodistiaeth Cymru.' September 28. 8 POLICE GAZETTE, Sept amber 28 Description of WILLIAM CAMPBELL, charged with] larceny, who absconded from Penrith, on 1st instant: he is a labourer, a native of Penrith, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, slender figure, brown hair, small brown whiskers and moustache, round features ; supposed dressed, in dark tweed clothes. He is accompanied by a woman, 24 years of age, stout figure, fair hair, fair complexion, and has lost one front tooth in upper j'lw. He occasionally teaches dancing in public- houses. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Fowler, Penrith, who holds a warrant for his apprehension, or at the County Chief Constable's Office, Carlisle, Cumberland.— Bow- street, September 28. Stolen from a box at the dwelling- house of Mary Ann Longhurst, at Hailsham, between 9.30 a. m. and 7 p. m. on 24th instant: £ 2 10s. in Gold and £ 2 5s. in Silver, including a great many Sixpences and a black woollen Shawl, which has a place torn in the back about five inches long. Supposed by a woman about 40 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, full red face, a scar over right eye, and a alight enlargement on right side of upper lip, dark smooth hair, slightly turning grey, stout figure, and is an artificial flower maker ; dressed in old black dress, with green skirt under, an old rusty black velvet jacket under au old shawl, old black bonnet, and thick leather boots. She is supposed to belong to London, has been in the neighbourhood of Hailsham about five weeks, and has been staying with Mrs. Longhurst as companion for the last three weeks. Absconded at Mold, charged under warrant with stealing from a house in Maesydre, Mold, on 24th instant, the property of Anne Parry, a grey Shawl, with black border and grey fringe; a small grey aDd black plaid Shawl; also a email black and white plaid Shawl; a ladies' full- sized Dress, with green and white stripes, twilled with two flounces ; a pair of ladies' elastic- side Boots, quite new : ANNIE JERVIES, late of Minshull- street, Liverpool, wife of Edward Jervies, a bricksetter, now supposed to be working at Birkenhead. She is about 32 years of age, rather tall and slender, dark complexion, black hair, and dark eyes ; rather shabbily dressed. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Adams, or Inspector Minshull, Mold, Flintshire.— Bow- street, September 28. Absconded from Crewe on 25th instarlt, charged with stealing from the dwelling- house of Peter Furlong, provision dealer, Flag- lane, Crewe : £ 12, 10s. in Gold, and 4s. in Silver : THOMAS POOLE, labourer, a native of Chester, about £ 6 years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, light sandy hair, and small moustache ; has a woman and two other marks on the left arm, anchor on back of one hand, and a blue maik on right arm; dressed in a blue ribbed cloth coat, tweed trousers, white muffler, low shoes, and striped stockings, information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Saxton, Nantwich, or to Mr. Superintendent Morris, Clewe, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, September 28. Stolen from a dwelling house in Hastings, on 25th inst.: a small leather Case, containing 3 £ 5 Bank of England Notes, Nos. F.'; 5 ladies gold Kings, one set with single diamond in a claw, one diamond and sapphire clustre, one half hoop, set with pearls and small diamonds, one gipsey- pattern, set with three turquoise two pearls, one antique gold, with large amethyst; a coloured gold necklet, with gold Cross; a ladies gold Watch Chain, twisted cable pattern; a ladies gold Chain, with Locket attached, blue enamel set with a pearl; a small gold Necklet, with blue enamel Locket; a massive gold Bracelet; and a gold Bracelet, set with aqua marine. Supposed by a man, about 45 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, whiskers and moustache turning grey, shaved under the chin ; dressed in a grey suit, and bard black round hat. Absconded on the morning of 19th instant, charged on a warrant with stealing from their^ employer, F. Bowyers, Esq., of West Dean House : s: x £ 5 Bank of England Notes, bearing the stamp of the London and County Bank, Chichester; nine Sovereigns, seven stamped with George and Dragon of dates ranging from 1818 to 1822, and two of the present reign, of George and Dragon, stamped in the like manner; £ 6 10s. in Gold of current coin; about .£ 1 in Silver ; two new Half- crowns; four new Shillings, all fresh from the mint; silver Maundy Money, Id, 2d., 3d., 4d., 5d., and 6d., all fresh from the Mint; and a black silk Purse, trimmed with bright steel beads : ARTHUR LINDOE, the butler, 29 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark complexion, little whiskers, buahey eye- brows, stroDg built, and good looking; dressed in dark clothes, and hard felt hat; has been living at Hingham, in Norfolk. And EDWARD KELLOW, the footman, 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair, no whis- kers, slight build, narrow cheated, and stoops when walking ; has an hesitation| in his speech when suddenly addressed; dressed in dark clo hes. and. black hard felt hat. Both took tickets for Victoria Station, London. Stolen from the dwelling- house at Malton, North Riding of Yorkshire, on 22ad instant: a lady's gold Watch, with glass and hands broken ; a lady's gold Ring, set with white stones; a ditto, set with pearls and corals; a lady's gold Bracelet, with raised flowers ( rosee) in gold; a lady's silver Card Case, lined with blue watered silk, with ivory tablets inside, and containing address cards ' Mrs. Hugh Pearson;' a silver French Franc Piece ; and a copper five Centime Piece. Supposed by a man, about 25 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, thin face, light brown hair, light moustache, little or no whiskers, and pro- portionate figure ; dressed in black frock coat, dark trousers, dark felt hat, and lavender necktie; of respectable appear- ance. £ 5 reward will be paid by Mr. Pearson to any person or persons who shall give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders. Stolen on the morning of 24th instant, from a bed- room at the Seven Stars Inn, the property of Mr. Richards: a small gold Watch; a gold Albert Chain; and a black Vest. No. V 76. He was convicted at the Central Criminal Court on 5th April, 1869, of housebreaking, and sentenced to 10 years ; was discharged on 28 th February last, his destination then being the Discharged Prisoner's Aid Society, London.
