He is well known in the Midland Counties attending fairs, races, & c., with cocoa nuts. Stolen on the morning of 20th instant, from the house of James Hewett, Rhos: a suit of grey Clothes, a white Shirt Front, a black Tie, a pair of lace- up Boots, a silver Watch and Chain, No, on case and works ( verge in lever case); a leather Purse, with clasp, containing 9 s. or 10?. in Silver ; and a new jimcrow Hat. By a man, who lodged in the house a few night?, a collier's labourer, 23 years of age, 5 feet high, hair inclined to be sandy, no whitkers or mous- tache, and rather weak eyes. Description of WILLIAM MILES, of Eastbourne, Sussex, a collector of marine stores and a low horse- dealer, charged with stealing a number of sheep Skiaa ( recovered) : he is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, rather fresh complexion, dark eyes, dark brown hair, rather stout figure ; dressed in a velveteen jacket, dark vest, card trousers, and black round crowned hat. He is of rather dirty appear- and?, and accompanied by a young woman and child. He is charged with stealing a second- band gold Watch, No. 14899, a gold Guard, a Half Sovereign, aud 10s. in Silver, the property of John Browning Withers, the landlord of the above Inn. Description of THOMAS HINDS, alias SPENCER, a native of Wellington, Salop, charged on a warrant with stealing on 10th instant, a pair of Militia Boots and Braces, ' No. 195,'' the property of Richard Littlehales: he is 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, no whiskers or mous- tache, and has a cataract in right eye ; dressed in old grey jacket, moleskin trousers and vest, tight- fitting cap, and wears clog?. Works in ironworks, Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Ivins, County Constabulary Office, Wellington, Salop.— Bow- street, June 20. Stolen from a public- house in Berwick- on- Tweed between 5 and 6 p. m. on 15th instant : a blue pilot cloth reefer Jacket, pocket outside each skirt, and one pocket inside left breast, with velvet collar, green lining, and in fair condition. By a mm, between 40 and SO years of age, about 6 feet 4 inches high, stout make, yellow hair, bald on top of head, and fair complexion ; dressed in black felt hat, and moleskin trousers, He said he was a bricklayer from Edinburgh, where he bad resided for 13 years, but had been out of work for 11 weeks. Has his initials on his left side. And a woman, about 50 years of age, 5 feet high, slender make, daik hair and complexion ; dressed in old dirty shawl, old stuff dress, knitted worsted cap, and carried some papers • whieh she offered for sale. Stolen from Dorthy, in the parish of Colva, Radnorshire, on the night of 12th or morning of 13th instant; the pro- perty of James Thomas, servant : a silver verge Watch, No. 53319, maker ' C. Hope, London'; a pair of woollen cord Trousers, new ; 3 calico Shirts ; black round Hat; old light drab velvet Jacket. Also a pair of lace- up Boots, with patent, leather under the lace holes, and capped and nailed ; 2 blue plaid bundle Handkerchiefs ; a red cotton Pocket- handker- chief ; Is. 6d. in Silver; and 7d. in Copper; the property of Wm, Williams, another servant. By a man who gave the name of JOHN FINCH, about 23 years of age, 5 ft. 5 ins. high, sallow complexion, brown hair, no whiskers or beard, scar under left eye, left arm recently broken, rather round shoulders, walks slovenly, and turns his toes out; dressed in a dark jacket aud vest and corduroy trousers. He said he was a native of Malvern, Worcestershire. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Penybont, Radnorshire.— Mwo- itreet, June 20. Absconded on 22nd ultimo : EDWARD BADE, charged on warrant with embezzling £ 11 lis. 6d., the Monies of Mr. R. W. Dance, fly proprietor, of Southboro'; he is 30 years of age, about 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, fresh complexion, and bow- legged ; dressed in dark overcoat, plaid suit underneath, and round felt hat. He is a fly- driver, is a German, and can speak English ; is known by this name of German, and well known in most of the horse repositories in London. Infor- mation to be given to Mr. Superintendent Dance, Police Court, Tunbridge, Kent.— Bow- street, June 18. Absconded from Bedford, charged with stealing from an outhouse on the 10th instant: 16 Ducks ( recovered), and a tox terrier Bitch, white with black and tan mark bottom of right eye, slight black and tan on the top of left eye, and slightly tanned round edges of the ears ; the property of John Whittemore: HARRY PALMER, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, fair complexion and hair, grey or blue eyes, a labourer, stiff build, walks erect, and has been a soldier ; dressed in a black coat, brown worsted waistcoat, dark trousers, and round billycock hat. £ 2 reward will be paid on his apprehension. Description of HENRY COPE, a brewer's traveller, who absconded from Wordsley, Staffordshire, on 12th inst,, charged with embezzling £ 19, the monies of Mr. Edward Oaks : about 28 years of age, smart appearance, 5 feet 9 inches high, brown hair, grey eyes, slight whiskers and moustache, and shaved on the chin ; dretsed in a suit of dark plaid, and a round black billycock hat, He was seen in High- street, Dudley, on 12lh instant, and had in bis possession a black Portmanteau and a carpet Bag. By a man, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inehes high, fair complexion and hair, slight whiskers ; dressed in dark suit, striped cotton shirt, and hard felt hat.-- Metropolitan Felice, K Division, June 15, Description of WILLIAM ANTHONY COPPIN, charged with embezzling monies belonging to the Cam budge University and Town Gas Light Company, of which Com- pany he was a collector : he is about 30 years of age, but looks younger, 5 feet 1 inch high, very fair and piste com- plexion, light hair, rather curly, few small light whiskers and beard, has a false tooth in right side of upper jw, thin build, walks erect, with a springing gait; generally dresses in light clothes, low black felt hat, and of respectable appearance. Supposed by a man, from 45 to 60 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, very red face, clean shaved, walks rather awkwardly ; dressed in a long black coat, black soft hat, and supposed grey trousers; was seen going about public- houses offering matches and thread for sale. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Ellis, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- street, June 15. Description of WILLIAM BURKE, wanted under a warrant, charged with stealing on 11th instant, from an office in the library, Union- street, Birmingham: £ 22 18s. 61., and 96 penny Postage Stamps, the property of his employers, the subscribers to the said library : he is a labourer, 24 yrs. of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown hair, slight moustache, no whiskers, flat face, badly pockmarked; dressed in dark clothes; he has friends residing at Dublin, and it is strongly suspected ha will endeavour to leave the country. No. X 25, was con- victed at Leeds on 10th April, 1871, and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude and 7 years police supervision, for breaking and entering into a warehouse; he was discharged from Wormwood Scrubbs Convict Prison on 25th Nov. 1876 ; he is 21 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, brown hair, fresh complexion, brown eyes, rather tender, mole on left arm, near shoulder blade, several scars en back, and brown spot on lower part of back.
