He ^ sas seen in Exeter a short time ago. June 15 of 8th instant: the man described has been in the Army, and sleeps in tramp wards- Information to be given to Inspector Young, Hitchin, Herts, who will pay a reward of £ 3 for information that will lead to his arrest and con- viction.— Boio- ilreet, June 13, Absconded from Bilston, charged with stealing Skins from a shop on 4th instant ; an upholsterer, 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light complexion, chubby face, brown hair, and blue eyes; dressed in dirty grey clothes. Absconded, charged with stealing, on 6th instant, a Watch ( recovered) : SAMUEL SIMPSON, 28 or 30 yeavsot age, ff feet 3 or 4 inches high, proportionate build, sallow complexion, black hair, no whiskers or moustache, full grey eyes, teeth very yellow, lost right leg from the knee, wears a coik one, walks with great difficulty and with a stick ; dressed in small blaok felt hat, light loose- fitting overcoat, black trousers, rather shabby, - and elastic- side boots, far worn. He is & clerk, and has for 3 or 4 months resided in Bristoi. Absconded from Chesterfield on 9th instant, embezzling 10s. 6d. : a man, about 36 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight build, black hair, black bushy whiskers and mous- tache, shaves his chin, sallow complexion, aDd hazel eyes ; dressed in a dark tweed suit and hark billycock hat. He is supposed to be in company with a woman named Elizibeth Willburn, who has two little girls with her. WILLIAM WOODMONASE, advertised in the Police Gazette of 28th ultimo, charged with stealing a Watch at Great Ayton, has been committed to Northallerton Gaol for 1 month hard labour, and the Watch recovered. Description of HENRY HILL, labourer, native of Selby, Yorkshire, who absconded from Henley- in- Arden on 30lh of April last, charged on a warrant with stealing 15s., the money of his master : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inp. high, stout build, brown hair, small ( « ady) whiskers, right forefinger missing from second joint; dressed in corduroy trousers, short moleskin jacket, tweed waistcoat, and liat cap with button on top. Absconded on 31st ultimo, from 41, London- street, St, Pancras, stealing £ 3 153. : a man, 25 years of age, 5 ft. 5 ins. high; dressed in dark tweed coat, black trousers and vest, and black billycock hat.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, June 8. Description of a man who has absconded from Long Itchington, Warwickshire, charged with stealing a steel Screw Plate, with taps ; a pocket Shoeing Knife, with dirty white bone handle ; and a Leather Apron; the property of Robert Bayliss, blacksmith. He is known as JOHN THE BLACKSMITH, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, tuft of hair on chin, aad is in- kneed ; dressed in dark brown cloth coat, red and white scarf, dark cloth cap, dark clothes, and is wearing a pair of light lace- up boots. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Palmer, Constabulary Station, Rugby, or to Inspector Welch, Southam, Warwickshire, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bcw street, June 8. ( Not otherwise described), Absconded, charged on a warrant, with assault with intent to ravish : WILLIAM JOHNSTONE, a miller, a native of Clouden Village, Dumfrieshire, 25 years of age, 6 feet 10 inches high, smart appearance, long face, pale com- plexiqn, dark hair, small dark whiskers shaved off chin, and hazel eyes; dressed in dark cloth shooting coat, dark cloth vest, light coloured striped or checked tweed trousers, black hard felt hat, elastic side boots, and light grey stockings. He has worked as a miller in Glasgow and Mid Calder. He will probably endeavour to leave the country. Information to be given to the Chief Constable of Damfrieshite, Dumfries. — Bow- street, June 11. raAUIHI AM B MISDEMEAMTTEK Absconded, PAULINA HENDERSON, a servant, charged with obtaining at Ormskirk, a lady's Jacket and Necktie, by fabe pretences : she is about 32 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, slightly built, pale complexion, sunken cheeks, black hair and eyes, front teeth irregular and badly decayed ; dressed in black dress, black astrakan cloak, and black hat Information to be given to Mr. Superinten- dent Dorset, Constabulary Office, Ormskirk, Lancashire, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, June 15. maCBfc& AinEOIIi IMFOHMATXOM8. Description of a man who gave the name of GEORGE ROBERTS, a seaman, remanded till 23rd instant, charged with larceny : 56 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, brown hair turning grey, swarthy complexion, long face, and rup- tured on left side ; dressed in daik clothes, blue cap, and Wellington boots. Information to be given to Mr. Superin- tendent Caswell, Church Stretton, or to Sergeant Williams, Bishops Castle, Salop.— Bow- street, June 15. Found in a small pool of water at Middlesborough, on 11th instant: the dead Body of a full- grown female infant Child, wrapped in a small calico napkin and a piece of faded print, with a broad hem, It is supposed to have been in the water about three weeks or a month. At the coroner's inquest on 12th instant, the jury returned a verdict of ' Found dead.' Information to be given to Chief Con- stable Saggerson, Borough Police Station, Middlesborougb, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, June 15. WILLIAM STRAWBRIDGE and THOS. JAMES.' who escaped from the Glamorganshire Reformatory, Neath' as advertised in the Police Gazette of 6th instant, have been apprehended in Cardiganshire, where James committed two larcenies, and Strawbridge one: a black and white plaid Welsh flannel Shirt, quite new, patters— four black and four white threads alternately, with ivory buttons on breast and collar, three of which have only two holeB, and the other which is rather smaller has four, and composition buttons with four holes on wristbands, was found in Strawbridge's possession. He states that they h? ve tramped through the counties of Carmarthen and Pembroke, and that he bought the shirt for Is. 6d. in a shop at Pembroke, where second hand clothe3 are sold. Remanded to County Gaol, Cambridge until 20th inst., charged with stealing a piece of Meat, from a butcher's shop, at Sawston: a tramp, who gave tbenameof JOHN PERRY, and said he belonged to Hatchett, 18 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, Eunburnt gipsey appearance ; dressed in brown cloth overcoat, daik trousers and cap, and old lace- up shoes ; he stated that he was sent to Springfield Gaol about 2 years ago, for stealing meat at Stratford ; he had in his possession a diaper napkin, marked ' M.
