HARRISON,' alias TRAWLER charged on a warrant with breaking into a slaughter- house and stealing Tallow therein : 24 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 ins. high, dark hair, full face, proportionate make, slouching gait, holds his head on one side ; dressed in a dirty brown coat, greasy trousers, Scotch cap with peak, and has been at sea in a fishing smack, but latterly worked among butchers. During the night of 15th instant, the dairy at White Hill Farm, Tackley, was broken into, and 3 lbs. of fresh Butter and a linen Cloth stolen therein, the property of Mr. George T. Gibbons. Also on the same night, an unfinished New Farm House, at tbe same place, was entered, and a carpenter's Chisel, marked on the handle ' J. Weller,' also a glazier's putty Knife, were stolen therein. Description of JAMES CAMERON, a mechanic, wh< absconded from Dundee, on 11th instant, and for whost- apprehension a sheriff's warrant has been granted fo » breaking into the Dundee Museum early ou morning of 10th instant, as advertised in the Police Gazette of 16th instant. He is a native of Dundee, 25 years of age, about 5 feet 8 ins high, dark brown hair, cut short, large blue eyes, whiskers shaved off cheeks, beard about two inches long, round face, high cheek bones, stout make, fresh complexion, lost half of second right finger, first and second left fiegers have been squeezed in machinery, he has lost the power of the first joints of these fingers, right thumb and third left fiogar have cuts upon them, received when breaking the glass of the window or tbe glass cases in the Museum on the 10th inst., and will possibly yet bear marks of injury ; dressed in dark tweed coat, dark tweed vest, recently washed, dark brown tweed trousers, new socks and scarf, and may have on a black felt hat or a dark tweed cloth cap. He may attempt to get to America as fireman or otherwise on board a steamer, or he may attempt to stow away on some vessel bouud for America, or he may endeavour to get employment at some public work. He is supposed to have left for Edinburgh on the afternoon of 11th instant. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Dewar, Central Police Chambers, Dundee.— Bow- street, May 18. Between 4 and 5 30 a, m, on 14th inst., the dwelling- house of William Chutterlay was burglariously entered and stolen therein : a blue pilot cloth Overcoat, velvet collar, lined with blue and black plaid, outside pockets, and inside breast ditto ; three pairs men's elastic- side Boots, one pair nearly new, one pair recently soled and has toe- plates on; two single- barrel Guns, muzzle loaders, maker's name on one ' Maybury, Birmingham' ; and a red and black plaid woollen Shawl. By AUGUSTUS HOLLINGTON, 26 years of age, but looks older, 5 feet inches higb, brown hair, slight sandy whiskers and moustache, very broad forehead, and is shabbily dressed ; has of late been leading a vagabond life in Birmingham and Staffordshire. Was traced to West Heath, from whence he may go to Westbromwich, Smethwick, Oldbury, or Dudley. Information to ba given to Mr. Super- intendent Tyler, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, May 18. During the night of 10 th ins, r, ant, a Church at Greenhithe, near Dartford, was broken and entered, and the following articles stolen therein : two pairs brass Vases, one pair about 9 inehes high with Latin inscription on them; one pair of plain ditto, about 7 inehes high; one rmetal Spoon ; aud one small Cork with silver Top. A small chisel was left behind in the church by the thieves. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Fread, Kent Constabulary, Dartford. — Bow- street, May 16. About 12 p. m. on 12th instant, the dwelling- bouse of Mrs. Dunn, of. Moss Gate, near Hilderstone, was broken and entered by two men, who stole Half a Sovereign ; some Bread and Butter ; and a pair of woman's elastic- side Boots, which have been recently soled : one man is about, 21 years of ags, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, rather broad shoulders, large nose, very little whiskers, and dirty looking ; dressed in black jacket, moleskin trousers, and old aamrny bat, he wore clogs, and had a belt rouud his waist : the other man is about the same age, but much shorter, had a slight mous- tache, pale looking as if ill, and bow- legged ; dressed in cloth coat and trousers, supposed light colour, and black hard round felt hat; he will probably be wearing the stolen boots, as there was an old pair of elastic- side boots left behind ; this man held Mrs, Dunn down, and threatened to cut her throat with a razor, which he drew out of his pocket, if she made any noise. Information to bo given to Mr. Superin- tendent Crisp, Stone, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, May 16. Between 8 and 11 a m. on 9th instant, the cottage of Richard Smith, at Montford, near Shrewsbury, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a small Geneva Watch, without a glass, and a very small silver Chain, single links, about 8 inches long and bar at end ; a daik brown cloth Topcoat, double- breasted, buttons of same material, one button off right breast, and brown velvet collar; light- coloured Waistcoat with small yellow shank buttons ; two old white calico Shirts ; an under flannel Shirt, patched under the arms ; a blue woollen Muffler; and a pair of thin elastic- side Boots. Supposed by a tramp who left an old blue pilot jacket, an old yellow and grey stripped woollen shirt, and an old pair of thin elastic- side boots, with toecaps and tips on heels. Between 5 p. m. on 5th instant and 5' 30 p. m. on 8th, the dwelling house of Samuel Beddoes, of Shirley, was broken and entered and stolen therein: a small black japanned German Timepiece, about 7 inches high, white enamelled face, black figures, gilt hands, a small piece of wood has been glued on the bottom at back ; a green Table Cover, marked with brown; three white Antimaccassars; and a white Counterpane. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Simmons, Coleshill, or to Inspector Yardley, Solihull, War- wickshire.— Brno- street, May 14. On 9Lb. instant, a cottage at Montford was broken into and stolen therefrom : a brown cloth Top Coat with brown cloth buttons, one missing off the front; a pair of black cloth Trousers ; a white calico Shirt; a pair of elastic- side Boots; a blue Muffler; and a silver Geneva Watch, with silver Guard attached. By a tramp, fr « m 50 to 55 years of age, rather short, whiskers and hair turning grey, and is supposed to be wearing the stolen property, having left his own clothes behind. Durifig the night of the 14th instant, a fat Sheep was slaughtereu and stolen in a field Lear Huntingdon Belt, belonging to Mr. John Glover, Solicitor, Cumnock, the head, skin, feet, and entrails being left behind. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Hill, Brownhills, near Walsall, or to Sergeant Cockerell, Police Station, Hednesford, near Stafford!— Bow- street, May 16. During the night of 9th instant, a Lamb was slaughtered and stolen in a field at Leacroft, near Cannock, the property of Mr. John Adams, farmer ; the head, skin, legsTs. i,.' entrails being left in the field. Stolen during the night of 8th instant, from a stable at Daw End, near Rushall: a red roan Horse, aged, 15 hands high, in good condition, has a white star on forehead, and hind fetlocks white. £ 10 reward will begiven to any person who shall give such inrormation as shall lead to the appre- hension and conviction of the offender or offenders. Description of a man giving the name of HERBERT WRIGHT, who left Dorchester on 14th instant by the 12' 28 p. m. train for Paddington, charged on a warrant with steal- ing a double central- tire Gun, 12 gauge, No. 1264, maker ' C. Jeffery,' or ' W. Jeffery and Son, Dorchester,' which he had in his possession on leaving ; the property of Mr. Chas. Jeffery. Ha is about 41 years of age, 5 feet 8- inches high, grey eyes, dark brown hair, round features, stout build, fair complexion, brown whiskers and moustache, inclined to be sandy, and shaves under chin ; dressed in a dark mixture suit ( coat double- breasted morning) white shirt front with plain gold studs, striped or white necktie, black bowler hafc, and shoes ; has the appearance of a sporting character; had also a middle size black bag and some fishing rods ; and is supposed to have lived at St Helen's- terrace, St. Leonardos, Sussex, and is also known at 32, Mulford- street, Wands wor, th-. road, Surrey. Absconded from Southportou 12th instant, charged with stealing £ 571 lis. 6d. : JAMES SWAIN, of Rochdale, builder ; he is 35 yearaol age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inohes high, dark whiskers, cut mark on one cheek, and of medium build. He was last seen in Rochdale about two o'clock on 13th instant, and will most likely make his way for America or Australia^ £ 570 consisted of five £ 100 Notes aud seven £ 10 Notes. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Edlaston, near Ash- bourne, on the morning of lOtK instant: an old- fashioned verge hunter Watch, No. 6852, maker ' Thomas Cooke, Loughborough,' had attached a brass Chain and Key, with the name of ' Davenport' on it. By a youth, 16 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high ; dressed in drab slop, corduroy trousers, blue and white necktie, and cap with fur round it; he had the day previous engaged himself as servant at the house. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Whieldon, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.— Bow- street, May 18. The woman ANNETTE PEGG, advertised in the Police Gazetta, of 1.4th instant, charged with stealing Money at Cambridge, has been apprehended and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment.— Bom- itreet, May 18. THOMAS GWILLIM, advertised in the Police Gazette of 11th instant, as having absconded from Cefncoed, near Neath, charged with embezzling several sums of Money, has been arrested at Queenstown, Ireland. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Howlett, County Constabulary, Neath, Glamorganshire.— Bow- street, May 18. Stolen on the morning of 17th inst., from a bedroom at the Railway Inu, Boss, a lady's small single- cased silver Geneva Watch, gold hands, ornamented round dial, and a long gold watch Guard with Key attached. By a man ( who lodged in the house for one night, and stated that he looked after the telegraph wires and posts), about 35 years of age, 6 feet 11 or 11 inehes high, fair complexion, light brown hair, heavy moustache, and very little whiskers; dressed in a rather long dark loose coat, light- coloured trousers, strong boots, and black felt hat. He left Ross by the 7- 30 a. m. train for Gloucester on 17th instant. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Smith, Boss, Herefordshire.— Bow- itreet, May 18. Absconded from Penzance, on 2nd instant, charged with . stealing a quantity ot silver Plate, ( a portion since recovered), the property of his master J. W. Ludlam, Esq : WILLIAM. THOMPSON, 32 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, slender build, dark complexion, dark brown and wavey hair, bushy • whiskers, tinted red, no beard or moustache, walks erect, and has a peculiar drop of the under lip ; is a native of New- castle, can speak different languages, French in paiticular, is fond of the race- course, and has been associated with betting men. The articles of plate now missing are ten table Forks; six dessert Forks ; six table Spoous ; six dessert Spoons; Cup, Spoon, Knife, and Fork marked ' J. W. L.', in a case ; a small silver Cup, marked ' M. A. L.'; a silver and gold Cup, marked ' L. M. L.'; a child's silver Cup ; and a silver coffee Pot, embossed. .£ 25 reward will be paid for informa- tion leading to his apprehension and conviction. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Olds, Borough Police Station, Peuzsiuce, Cornwall, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Baw- sirett, May 16. Stolen from a bed- room at the ' Elephant and Castle' Inn, Leominster, on 14th instant: £ 2 Is. in Silver and Copper Money's; a quantity of Three- penny and Four- penny Pieces was amongst it; and a common brass Chain, snake pattern, with a Locket attached. By a man who slept at the house the two previous nights : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark moustache, no hair under the nose, no whiskers, sharp features; dressed in black hard bowler hat, black coat, dark brown plaid vest and trousers, strong lace- up boots, with brass fastenings, blue striped woollen shirt, with white front, narrow blue tie; had in his possession a small silver Geneva Watch ; stated he was a collar maker in the saddlery trade, and was in Ludlow on 11th instant. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Johnson, Borough Police Station, Leominster, Herefordshire.— Bow- itreet, May 18, Absconded from Maryport, Cumberland, on 5th instant, charged on a warrant with stealing one £ 20 Note Royal Bank of Scotland; 2 Sovereigns in Gold ; 8 Shillicgs in Silver; a blue cloth Vest, with very small white spots » n it; ono pair of dark small checked tweed Trousers; and one pair of red and white striped Braces : JAMES RUSH, labourer, 23 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh com- plexion, blue eyes, light hair, whiskers and moustache, parts his hair in centre, very stout figure, and is a native of Killy- cuddy, county Monaghan, Ireland ; when last seen he was dressed in a brown eheeked tweed jacket, the stolen vest and trousers, and a cheesecutter cap. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Taylor, Constabulary Office, Cocker- mouth, or at the County Chief Constable's Office, Carlisle, Cumberland.— Bow- street, May 16. COLIN CAMPBELL, a clerk, lately a commercial traveller, on 10th instant was entrusted by Mr. Pearson, builder, Kelvinside, Mary hill, with the sum of £ 95, consisting of a £ 20 Note, of the City of Glasgow Bank, the rest in £ b Notes, of the National Bank of Scotland, to go to Glasgow and pay some bills : he has not paid the bills, nor has he returned with the money, he is about 29 years of age, over 6 feet high, slender m » ke, fair hair and whiskers, thin on cheeks, meet heavy on chin, slight fair moustache ; dressed in a suit of grey tweed, and black felt hat. He speaks with a Scotch accent, is a native of Glasgow, and has travelled a good deal in England. Information to be given to Mr, Super- intendent Anderson, Maryhill, Glasgow.— Bow- street, May 16, Absconded on 8th instant, from 145, Long- lane, Ber- mondsey, stealing £ 20 : a man, 18 years of age, 5 feet 6 ins. high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, slight build, long features; dressed in dark cutaway coat, dark mixture trousers, black billycock hat; has been in the mercantile marines, and has a sister residing at 4, Agnes- street, Waterloo- road.— Metropolitan Police, M Division, May 14. Absconded on 7th instant, from the Spotted Dog public- house, Strand, embezzling £ 1 17s. : a man, 26 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, and fair complexion ; dressed in black coat and round felt hat; supposed to be in the neigh- bourhood of Holland- street, Blackfriars. — Metropolitan Pdicej E Division, May 14. Absconded, charged with stealing a silver Geneva Watch, from the ' Dolphin' inn, Kidderminster, on the morning of 11th instant: a man, about 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair and whiskers ; dressed in dark elothes, brown overcoat, and a box hat. He stated that he was a clicker by trade. The watch is a lady's small Geneva white dial, with a yellow margin, and the cases chased. Stolen from the dwelling house of William Hall, at rowthorne, between 2 and 4 p. m. on 4th instant: a suit of grey cloth Clothes, a grey cloth Overcoat, with velvet collar, to fit a youth about 16 years of age; a violet and white checked woollen Scarf, and a soft billf cock Hat, By a in an about 17 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, slender build, rather sandy hair, no whiskers or moustache ; dressed in daik coloured jacket and trousers, red scarf, dark cap, and has a dirty appearance. Information to be given to Mr. Super- intendent Carline, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. — Bow- street, May 14.
