B'; a silver Thimble, with the stamp of the Exhibition of 1851 on it; a gold- mounted hair Brooch, marked ' R. and H.'; a gold Mourning Ring ; a gold Eye- glass ; and four old- fashioned silver Tea Spoons, marked ' I.' During the night of the 16th instant, a cottage at Reading was broken and entered, and stolen therein : an open- face silver Geneva Watch, No. 37956; a white calico Shirt; a Shilling ; 2 lbs. of raw Bacon ; lbs. of Beef ; aud a pair of men's size lace- up Boots, tipped, nailed, and clumped. During the afternoon of the 15th instant, a cottage at Defford, near Pershore, was broken and entered, and stolen therein ; a pair of dark cloth Trousers, fly fronts ; a pair of light grey cloth Trousers, with stripe, flap fronts ; a grey cloth Vest, the buttons have the name ' Wridgway' upon them ; a black and red woollen plaid Shirt; a Towel; and 3s. 3d. Supposed by two tramps, one very dark, and black curly hair, and they had a white terrier dog, with dark ears, with them, and are supposed to have gone in Hereford- shire or Gloucestershire. Between 8 and 12 am. on the 14th instant, the cottage of James Coleman, of Oxneyfield, near Darlington, was broken into, and £ 2 in Gold, a grey tweed shooting Coat, a dark cloth Vest, a pair of cord Trousers, a woollen Shirt with yellow stripe, a pair of elastic- side Boots, and a blue and white bundle Handkerchief, was stolen therein. Supposed by two tramps : one 28 to 30 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, stout figure ; dressed in brown coat and cap ; the other 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches higb, light moustache ; dressed in dark clothes, and hard felt hat. Stolen, by means of housebreaking, from the dwelling- house of William Johnson, Solihull, between 9 a. m. and 1 p m. on the 13th ultimo : three black cloth Jackets, pockets out- side ; a pair of black cloth Trousers, flap front ; a pair of grey cloth ditto; a pair of cotton cord ditto ; two black cloth Waistcoats; aud an old- fashioned plaid silk Neckerchief. Between 10 and 11 am. on the llth instant, the house of Evan Owen, of Groespluan, near Welshpool, was broken and entered, and stolen therein: 3 Halfcrowns, 3 Florins, 5 Shillings, and a 6d. Piece. Supposed by a man, about 26 ye irs of" age, 5 feet 7 inches higb, small light whiskers andj mrastaebe, hair cut short, walks erect ; dressed in dirty cord o- moleskin trousers, patched on thighs and knees, dark round jacket, watertight boots, and dark cap with red band, and knob on top. He has the appearance of a foundryman, and is supposed to be making his way for Liverpool. Infor mation to be given to Superintendent Ellis, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- street, S- ptember 18. Between 7 and 8 p m. on the 13th instant, the dwelliug- house of Henry White, Esq., situate at Wateringbury, Kent, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a leather Case, about 6 or 8 inches square, with the letters ' C. FREDERICK BRADSHAW, alias ALFRED PEAK BRADSHAW, charged with stealing a Horse and Cart at Bolton ( advertised in the Police Gazette of the llth instant) is still at large, and a reward of £[ i3 offered for his appre- hension and conviction. Information to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Town Hall, Bolton, Lancashire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, September 20. Description of GEORGE CUBITT, of North Walsham, charged on a warrant with stealing a Horse, Dog Cart, and Harness on the 14th September last; the property of Benj. Kemble, of Swaffham : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, sandy hair and whiskers on the chin, shaved on the sides of face, and moustache ; dressed in a light coat aud trousers, black mackintosh, and white soft felt hat. The Horse, Cart, and Harness have been recovered. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Lambley, Swaffham, Norfolk.— Bow- street, September 20. The Horse, Cart, and Harness, obtained from the Royal Inn, Chelmsford, Essex, on the 5th instant, and Gazetted on the 8th and following numbers, was found at Brixton, Surrey, and restored to the owner on the 14th instant. Fur- ther description of the person who took the same, and who is still at large : about 26 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, of gentlemanly appearance, roman nose, and clean face. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Lennon, Chelmsford, Essex.— Bow- street, September 20. Stolen during the night of the loth instant, from a field at Hayes Budge : a chesnut Horse, 16 hands, 10 years old, hind feet white, gre. v spot on near hip, in good condition. Metropolitan Poliet, X Division, September 20. A ma, n and woman of the following description obtained a Horse and Cart from the livery stables of Mr. Richard Speight, <. f Gravesend, on the 12th instant, and have not returned : the man is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, thin build, little or no whiskers, slight moustache ; dressed in high hat, long blue rough coat, light stripe trousers and vest. The woman about the same age, stout, full face; Pressed in long blue waterproof, dark straw hat with white feather. The horse is a black cob gelding, 15 hands, white ling off' side under the mane, very quiet, and in good condition. Dog cart painted brown, picked out with red, imitation cane- work'panels, green linings ; plated Harness, Whip, and Rug, value £ 40. £ b reward will be given for the recovery of the property, and conviction of the offenders. Supposed t. o have been stolen on the night of the 13th instant, hom a stable in Truro : a chesnut Horse, 8 years old, 14jt hands high, one white hind leg, and a ring round the near foreleg jast, above the fetlock, also two small sores on the near side of back. Information to be given to Superintendent Angel, Borough Police Office, Truro, Cornwall.— Bow- street, September 18. Slo'en at Login Farm, in the parish of Swansea Higher, the property of Mr. John Davies, farmer, on the night of the llth instant : a bay cart Mare, 7 years old, about 15 hands high, black mane and tail, the hair rubbed off' butt of tail and t >() of mane, which is rather short, and a piece broken off 0 e hind hojf. Information to be given to Superintendent Howlett. Constabulary Office, Neath, Glamorganshire.— Brw- sireet, September 18. Supposed to have been stolen from the race course at Egham during the night of the 9th instant: a black Mare, 11 years old, 15 hands high, white face, white mark round the body, and only one shoe on. If stolen £ 2 reward will be paid on conviction of the offender or offenders. Description of THOMAS WYATT, of Sixpenny Hand- ley, Dorset, charged with stealing a ewe Sheep ( recovered) : he is 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion, full face, blue eyes, brown hair, and dirty appearance. He generally associates with gipsies, and sometimes obtains employment as a drover at fairs and markets. Information to be given to the Deputy Chief Constable, Dorset Constabu- lary, Wimborne.— Bow- street, September 15. Stolen on the 9th instant, from Bracebridge Low Fields: 1 a dark bay clean legged cart Horse, 15 hands 2 inches higb, 7 years old, white face, two white heels, hangs over a little at knees, walks wide behind, and in good condition. Supposed by a man, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, rather stout build, peculiar eyes, and speaks with a Norfolk accent; dressed in a pair of short leather leggings, dark clothes under a drab mackintosh, was carrying a whip when seen at Newark, at 11 p. m. on the 9- h instant, and had with him a horse answering the above description ; he frequents fairs, markets, & c.; the horse was last heard of going through Lady Bay Bridge toll- gate, at 11 a. m. on the 10th instant, ' two " miles on the Newark side of Nottingham. Absconded on the 12th instant, from Bexley, stealing a £ 50 Bank of England Note : JOHN SUTCLIFFE, alias " HAPPY JACK," 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair turning grey, whiskers shaved off, and tuft on chin dark brown ; dressed iu a brown over- coat, dogskin collar, grey trousers and vest, and high black hat. He was accompanied by his wife, 45 years of age, 5 feet 6' inches high, ruddy complexion, full face, and light brown hair; dress black with white htripe, black velvet bonnet trimmed red and white feathers ; and two sons, 16 and 18 years of age. Stolen on the 11th instant, from 2, Norman's- cottages, Hayworth- road, West Ham : a silver lever Watch, No. 4819, a gold Albert with gold Seal attached, and a pair of pebble Links. By a man, 26 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fair complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache light; dress, blue frock coat, black vest, tweed trousers, and felt hat. Metropolitan Police, K Division, September 15. Stolen from a dwelling- house in Richmond on the 6th instant: a Sovereign, the money of George wetherell. By a tramping mason, THOMAS SIMPSON, alias GINGER, who had been lodging in the house, 24 or 26 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, fair complexion, light hair and moustache ; dressed iu blue cloth coat and vest, woollen cord trousers, black and white check shirt and scarf, strong lace boots, vaudyked in the front, white soft felt hat. He inclines his head to the right, and is inkneed of the right leg. hand, English flags, Faith, Hope, and Charity, and an anchor on left forearm, blue dot on back of left hand, wound on bead and right thigh from a lance ; dressed in violet woollen plaid shirt, old black coat, white slop, cord vest, puce tweed trousers, green faded cap, and old boots. Was formerly in the 5th Fusiliers, and the 22nd Company, Boyal Engineers. JAMES ABBOTT, an Irishman, 44 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, pockpitted, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, and whiskers under chin, lost left forefinger joint; dressed in old blue coat, plaid one underneath, dark grey tweed vest, cord trousers ^ patched), white shirt, black neckerchief, lace- up boots, all very old. Information to be given to Superintendent Morgan, Kent Constabulary, Cranbrook, Kent.— Bow street, September 22, Description of MARY DAVIS, remanded to Shepton Mallet Gaol until the 25th instant, charged with obtaining by menaces and threats several articles of wearing apparel ( recovered) : she gives her age as 19, but appears to be about 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, light complexion, grey eyes, full face, slightly pockmarked, brown hair, mark of cut on upper lip ; dressed in dark stuff dress, with light trimmings, round the tail, old paisley shawl with red flowers, black straw hat, large white apron, stout boots, and is of gipsy appear- ance. She stops at common lodging houses, and carries a small fancy basket, hawking laee, and professes to tell fortunes. She was accompanied by a man she called her husband. He is about 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, light complexion and moustache, no whiskers slight build. He had a pedlar's certificate, and sold combs^ buttons, & c. Stolen from the dwelling house of Mary Pickering, of Bronington, Flintshire, about noon on the 15th instant : a small silver Watch, a gold hoop Ring, a silver albert Chain, a youth's dark cloth Coat, pockets on hips, a pair of striped cloth Trousers, 2 grey woollen Shirts, a silk Neckerchief, a Scarf, and a pair of strong lace- up boots. By a youth, about 18 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slender build, dark hair, no whiskers; dressed in monkey jacket, moleskin or militia trousers, fancy Lancashire clogs, and old cloth cap. She is a native of Gates- head, and is a pot hawker. Has been convicted at Guisbrough, and in the County of Durham.
