INFORMATIONS Stolen from the person of a gentleman at the steeple- Packington, on the 8th instant: an English silver lever Watch, capped aud jewelled in six holes, white enamelled dial, black hands and sunk seconds ; maker's name ' Brown,' Moate- street, Coventry,' and ' R. Bennett' engraved on inside of case. Information to be given to Superintendent Gallaway, Constabulary Office, Aston, near Birmingham, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, April 13. Stolen on the 6th instaxt, on the Race Corse, Daventry from the person of Mr. Bagg, Surgeon, of Priors Marston : a silver lever Watch, gold albert Guard attached, maker Nathaniel Hedges, Birmingham. And from the person of Joseph Wright of Everdon : a silver lever Watch, makers name on dial, ' John Jones,' Strand, and also on the cap over the works ' J. R. W.' on back of case outside. Information to be given at the Borough Police Station, Daventry, Northampton.— Bow- street, April 12. Stolen from the person of a gentleman at the Steeple Chases, Packington, on the 8th instant: a gold lever Watch, supposed No. 1865, has a gold radiated dial, and large black hands. Information to be given to Superintendent Gallaway, Constabulary Office, Aston, near Birmingham, Warwickshire. — Bow- street, April 12. MIJRB1S AND MALICIOUSLY WOUKDIWJ. Description of GEORGINA STANIER, alias WHITTINGHAM, who absconded from East Yale, near Longton, on the morning of the 10th instant, charged with murdering, her female infant child, on the 9th February last : 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, fair complexion, rather thin features, light auburn hair brushed olf forehead ; dressed in black crape bonnet, black dress with one'flounce, old faded paisley shawl, leather boots with elastic sides. A warrant is issued for her apprehension. A reward of £ 50 is offered by Her Majesty's Government for the conviction of the murderer or murderers. See Police Gazette of the 13th March and following dates. Information to be given to Superin- tendent McWilliams, Police Station, Longton, Staffordshire, or at aDy other Police Station in the county. — Bow- st., April 18. A Child, named EMILY HOLLAND, 7 years of age, left her home, at 4 30 p. m. on the 28th ultimo, at 110, Moss- street, Blackburn, and at 12 noon on the 30th ultimo, the mutulated body, without arms, legs, or head, was found in a field at Bastwell, in the borough of Blackburn. Afterwards on the same day the legs and feet were found in a drain at Lower Cunliffe, in the township of Rishton, about two mile3 from Blackburn. On the afternoon of the 28th ultimo, the deceased child left St. Alban's Sohool at a little after 4 o'clock, and on her way home, as she was passing the. junction of Birley- street and Mess- street, a man induced her to go into a shop to purchase half an ounce of tobacco, and then to go with him along Daisy- street aud Union- buildings, in the direction of Whalley Old- road, after which she was never again seen alive. The child was dressed in a black coburg frock, with a fullied flounce, black velvet hat, with black feather in it, purple and white plaid neck shawl, lilac printed pinafore, with black leather belt round waist, fastened with a broken button, and blue ribbon round her head, fastening the hair, grey mixed woollen stockings, elastic- side diaper kid boots, grey calico drawers, white flannel petticoat,, red flanoel stays, quilted with black thread, brown silk rep skirt, grey calico chemise, in her pocket a white handkerchief, with purple border, small spots of blood on it, on her neck a link of small hiue and white glass beads, none of which articles have been found. The above- mentioned man was from 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, proportionately made, long face, long thin nose, small dark eyes, cheek bones rather full, dark beard from lower side of face to and round the chin, dark long hair, browu skin as if sun burned, rouLd shouldered, and his neck sinking partly forward; dressed in a black billycock hat, with narrow brim, a dark mixture rough tweed cloth loose jacket, slit on hips, single- breasted, brown vest, dirty fustain or cloth trousers, worn at the bottoms, clogs worn down at sides, and leather on the top cut open. He walked rather lame. £ 100 reward will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any^ ierson or persons who will give such information as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murderer or murderers; and Mr. Secretary Cross will advise the grant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to the like result; and the iVIayor and Members of the Corporation of the said borough will give a further reward of i' 100 to any such person or persona who shall give such information and evidence as aforesaid. Stolen from Middlesbrough on the 15th instant, a silver lever Watch, engraved on inner case ' John McCabe,' maker ' J. Broadie, Middlesborough,' with a long silver curb Guard attached. By a man, 25 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown hair inclined to be curly, no whiskers, and small light moustache ; dressed in a short grey coat, dark brown trousers, old black velvet cap, and old foots, all very dirty ; he speaks the Sunderland dialect. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Mid- dlesborough, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, April 18. Stolen from a dwelling- house in Carlisle, on the 15th inst. : a black cloth Coat ( recovered); a black worsted Coat, ditto; two Vests, same material, one of which has been re- covered ; a small checked woollen Coat, with light buttons; a white cotton Shirt with linen breast, marked ' T. Stordy a pair of wool stockings marked ' T. 8.'; a gold breast Pin with green stone ; a pair of water- tight Shooting Boots ; and a pair of black Trousers ( recovered) : by a man who was seen wearing the unrecovered articles, 40 to 45 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, fair hair, whiskers, and complexion, and broken nose. Information to be given to Chief Constable Hemingway, Carlisle.— Bow- street, April 18. Stolen in Preston since the 5th iast. : a gold keeper Ring, has teeth marks on it; a gold plated Pin with blue stone ; a black silk Necktie, and a pair of Cuffs. By a young woman who had been lodging * t the house a: d stated that she cams from Moon's Mill, and had been working at Fish wick Mill. She is about 18 years of age, stout and low set. Description of JOHN BROWN, of Winterborne, Steeple ton, Dorset, charged with stealing on the lst instant, a silver Watch ( recovered) from the dwelling- house of Martha Riggs, Fordington : 25 to 30 years Of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, thin sandy moustache, flat nose, Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Griffin, 1 aud has been a soldier; dressed in dark coat, dark double- Police Office, Gloucester.— Bow- street, April 18. Chief Superintendent Coward, Borough Police lst instant, the workshop of Thomas Hopley, Broxton, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a hand Saw ; a plough Plane ; and one Square, i- ll marked* ' T. Hopley '; i BURGLARY AIB HOUSE BSEAKlia On the 15th instant, the Postal Telegraph Office at Gloucester Docks, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : £ 1 7s. in Silver and 4s. 7d. in Copper. On the same afternoon, the warehouse of Mr, John Ware, currier, of London- road, Gloucester, was broken and entered, and about £ t worth of Receipt and Postage Stamps, and 4d. in Copper, stolen therein. Absconded : RICHARD and ELIZABETH EGLING- TON, natives of Moselyhall, near Wolverhampton : the man is about 36 years of age, 5 feet high, stout build, no whiskers, bow legged, a collier ; dressed in plaid trousers, with a patch on one knee; the woman has a dark complexion and hair, | cut short, scar on neck, and has two thumbs on the right . ! hand; dressed in a black dress", with flounces. Burbridge, Piitchard, and Baldest, wholesale tea CHARLES, a Jew, 26 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, 1 dealers, No. 14, Little Tower street, London, at Newcastle- whiskers and moustache recently shaved off, dark complexion, ' upon- Tyne, who is charged ' on a warrant with embezzling very dark eyebrows, thick lips, lisps, and has. projecting teeth ; i> 200 : he is about 33 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, dressed in a light cloth coat, light cloth troupers fitting tight very dark or black hair, whiskers, and moustache, sallow to legs, aud top borts, brown Bowler hat, aud carries with complexion, stout person, leans a little forward when walking, him a black leather bag. He left Newport for Liverpool by and has a rather slow way of speaking ; generally dresses in the 5.25 train on the 8th. inst. A reward of £ 2 is offered for dark clothes, and is of respectable appearance ; he is a native his apprehension. Information to be given to Chief Constable 1 of Scotland, but resided for several years iu London ; he was Bonrl, Cardiff, Glamorganshire.— Bow- street, April 13, The Horse, Harness, and Cart stolen from Hitchin, as advertised in the Police Gazette of the 3rd instant, have been recovered at the 4 Nag's Head' public- house, Wellington- street, Borough, and ill reward is offered for information that will lead to the apprehension of JOHN, alias PERCY MOORE, who is charged on a warrant with stealing the same : 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark hair, and no whiskers ; dressed in dark clothes. ROBBERY AID LARGELY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen between the 15th and 16th instant, from the per- son of James Bracken Richardson, at Barrow- in- Furness : a wash leather Purse, containing £ 20 iu Gold,— 16 £ b Notes of the Craven Bank, 3 £ 5 Notes of the Bradford Bank, and 1 £ b Bank of England Note. Information to be given to Superintendent Barker. Police Station, Barrow, Lancaster- shire.— B^ ic- Weef, April 18, LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Charged with stealing in the parish of Southill, . on the 6th instant, a Vest, since found pawned at Hitchin : a tramp about 50 jears of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, hair turning grey, and beard about three weeks' growth ; dressed in an old high beaver hat, dark coat, vest, and trousers, much worn. He was traced to a lodging- house at Hertford, where he slept on the night of the 9th instant, and left next morning. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Bedlow, Police Station, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. — Bow- street, April 18. Description of WILLIAM alias SOLOMAN SIZER, charged ou a warrant with stealing a gold albert Guard, silver Watch, and other articles, the property of the North Eastern Railway Company, his masters, on the 9th December last: 28 years ot age, 5 feet 7 inches high, small red whiskers, strong moustache, nearly bald headed.. He, has a relative at Walthamstow, and three years ago he lived in Hare- street, Bethnal- green. Information to be given to Chief Constable Cook, Hull, York.— Bow- street, April 18. seen in Liverpool on the 3rd instaut, and it is supposed he will endeavour to leave the country. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Central Police Station, New- castle- upon- Tyne, Northumberland.— Bow- street, April 12. Charged with larceny at Sheffield : DANIEL O'SUL- LIVAN, a native Of Cork, a medical assistant, about 2s yrs. of age, 6 feet high, broad shoulders, military appearance, fresh complexion, brown hair, little whiskers, lather sandy, thin prominent roman nose, large ears, which project very much from the head. Information to be given at the Central Police Office, Sheffield, Yorkshire,— Jloir- street, April 12. Absconded from Middlesbrough on the 4th instant, charged with stealing a quantity of Gold Leaf : JOHN HUGHES, an artist or decorator and native of London, about 45 or 50 years of age, stoiii make, dark complexion and hair, very little whiskers, lame of one arid walks with a stick, also crippled in one hand ; dressed in old dark clothes, black billycock hat, and old boots. Escaped from custody at Corwen Railway Goods Yard, between 3 and 4 a. m. ou the 24th ultimo, charged with larceny : EVAN EVANS, a porter, in the employ of the Great Western Railway Company, at Corwen, and at times assistant breaksman, between Corwen . and Ruabp"-. : about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, stoutly built, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, no whiskers, and stoops a little ; he is a labourer, and has been working as a plate layer for several years ; dressed when he escaped in railway uniform of dark corduroy. Information to be given to Sergeant Williams, Corwen, Merionethshire, who holds the warrant for his apprehension.— Bono- street, April 10. Charged on a warrant with stealing a Bicycle : W. GILLETT, about 22 years of age, 5 fees 6 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, and slight build; dressed in brown overcoat, darlt undercoat, dark trousers, and black round hat. He has been in Margate, canvassing for a directory, called ' The Ramsgate, Margate, Canterbury, and Dover Directory,' published by Webb Brothers, publishers, No. 70, Park- street, Grosvenor- square, London. Stolen about 4 p. m. on the 2nd instant, from the shop of James Henry Beddow, watchmaker, Hednesford, Stafford- shire : two silver open- face Geneva Watches, Nos. 2624 and 50985 ; a silver open- face lever Watch, 24562 ; a small silver Geneva Watch, gold dial, 69347 ; three silver open- face Geneva Watches, white dials. 66085, 48738, and 55165 ; two silver verge Watches, 7701 and 31134 ; two silver Geneva Watches, one jewelled in 8 holes, 2592, the other in 4 holes, _ . , _ 13148 ; a Boston American silver lever Watch, top plate Constabulary Office, Stokesley, Yorkshire, two silver Geneva Watches, 3304 and 7940, Missing from his home at Melton, since the 10th instant WILLIAM SMITH, 14 years of age, pale complexion, small features ; dressed in a grey suit, and blue pilot jacket over black cap with white piping ; he may be in the neighbourhood of Sudbury or in Essex, as he has relatives in Dengie and Tellingham. Committed to Northallerton Gaol on the 10th instant, for one month hard labour under the. Vagrant Act: FREDERICK PERKINS, a tramp, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, blue eyes, light brown hair, frcalt, complexion, and light- coloured whiskers round chin ; says he is a labourer, and a native of Beyston ; dressed in cord trousers, woollen cord vest, jean riop, grey eloth cap, and strong laee- up boots. Information to be given to Superintendent Simpson, Con- stabulary Office, South Stockton, or to Inspector Holmes, Bow- st., April 18. jewelled, 29901 ; and several others ; a silver lever crystal watch, two glasses in back and one in front, plain dial, and winds up in front; a silver curb - n ateh Guard ; a six- barelled Revolver ; and a Suit of plaid Clothes. By ALBERT KRAUTH, a German, who was journeyman watchmaker for Mr. Beddow, and lodged in his house three weeks : 31 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, black hair ( parted behind), whiskers, and moustache, never shaved, and very high forehead ; dressed in a pepper and salt cloth jacket and vest, small plaid, pockets on hips, black cloth trousers, hard black billycock hat, red necktie, and elastic- side boots. He came from Philadelphia, vifi Liverpool, seven months since, and has a relative, a watchmaker, fh Guest- street, Hockley, Birmingham ; he also has friends at Tipton and Tunstall. Absconded from Minchinhampton, Gloustershire, on the lst instant, charged with counselling and procuring Mary Ann Rose to administer poison to her illegitimate child at Minchinhampton on the 31stult. : CAROLINE GRANT, about 17 years of age, about b feet high, black hair, dark complexion, very thick lips, and cut mark down the forehead ; dressed in old light print dress with large flounce, old brown jacket, old black hat trimmed with black aud scarlet ribbon, old lace- up boots with patches on sides; carried an old light shawl ; she is a native of Tetbury, Gloustershire. Informa- tion to be given to Superintendent Hanbridge, Stroud, Gloucestershire, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bovi- strcet, April 12. FEiiUBS AIB ACrGi& AVATED Charged on a warrant with fraudulent bankruptcy: WILLIAM MARTIN ECKERSLEY, a licensed victualler and accountant : 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, pale looking, dark brown hair, inclined to curl, ' slight dark whiskers and moustache, appears consumptive, is slender built, and head leans forward ; has large dark eyes, and occasionally wears spectacles ; is of good address and gentle- manly appearance ; and generally dressed in a grey suit. It is supposed that he will attempt to emigrate. Informatian to be given to Superintendent Barker, Barrow- in- Furness, Lancashire.— Bow- street, April 18. Absconded from Stafford on the lst instant, charged with stealing ( as a bailee): a pair of black cloth Trousers and Vest ( recovered) : the property of Mr. Dunn, his employer: JOHN GLASBROOK, a tailor, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light brown hair, slender build, rather to be given to Chief Constable M'Call. cheek bone?, and a native of Evesham; dressed m a light street April is, grey tweed jacket, dark grey trousers, and light mixture soft ' ^ Remanded until the 19th instant, at the Boyston Petty- Sessions, charged with larceny from the person: a woman who gives the name of MARY ALLEN, 38 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, full pale face, full grey eyes, dark brown hair, and wears ear- rings ; dressed in black cloth jacket, black alpaca dress with flounces, black fancy bonnet with a pale pink flower on the top ; carries with her a blue waterproof cloak and fancy basket. She is supposed to have been at CotteDham Races on the 11th instant, and says she is a native of Nottingham. Information to be given to Superintendent Cocksedge, Royston, Hertfordshire.— Bow- street, April 18. Committed for trial at the next Berks Assizes for bur- glaries at Waltham St. Lawrence and Hurley, and stealing from a dwelling- house at White Waltham : GEO. ALFRED WHITE, 19 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slender build, dark complexion, very dark eyes, black hair and moustache, and has a slight impediment in his speech ; dressed in a dark cloth pilot coat, lined with plaid, cord vest and trousers, black billycock hat, and lace- up boots. Information to be given to Superintendent lremonger, Berks Constabulary, Maidenhead. — Bow- stree', April 18. Description of a man, charged with larceny, who escaped from the lock- up at Willenhall : WILLIAM GOUGH, 28 years of age, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, rather round shouldered, rather red hair, whiskers shaved off, fresh com- plexion, rather prominent nose ; dressed in an old pepper and salt coloured coat, moleskin vest, old tight- fitting woollen cord trousers, soft billycock hat, heavy lace- up boots. He is an excavator, and stated that he was a native of Hereford. Information to be given to Inspector Gasson, Constabulary Office, Willenhall, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, April 18. Description of a man ( unknown) found drowned in the River Severn, at Diglis, near Worcester, on the 13th instant: about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches long, light complexion, brown hair, whiskers turning grey ; dressed in fustian jacket, white slop underneath, 1 woollen cord vest and trousers, check shirt, and new lace- up boots, with tips on heels. In his possession were found a Pocket- book, with the name' William Jones;' a carpenter's Rule ; a Purse, containing 8s. OJd.; a pair of Spectacles, with_ brass rims; two Pawn- tickets, one for a pair of cord Trousers, pawned at Richard Jackson's, 9, Vaughton- street, Birmingham, iu the name of George Jones. A soldier's Belt, with brass clasps, marked ' Gibraltar per Mare, per Terrain,' was found round his - waist. Infor- mation to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Phillips, County Police Office, Worcester.— Bow- street, April 18. and Stockings, No. 277, for 3s., pledged with Alfred Gush, 8, Essex- road, Islington, on the 4th Oct., 1875 ; one for Shirt and other articles, No. 693, for 3s., pledged with W. Hickin- botham, 123, Eingsland- road, 9th Oct, 1875 ; one for a Coat, No. 962, for 4s., with Edwin Somes, 303, Fulham- road, Brompton, 12th October, 1875 ; and one for Coat, No. 2322, for 4s., pledged with Joseph W. Clark, 55, Long Acre, 26th October, 1875. Information to be given to Superintendent Peerless, Uckfield, or to Sergeant Avery, Court House, Mark Cross, Sussex.— Bow- street, April 13. On the 23id ultimo he was in custody at Liverpool, in the name of DAVID ROBERTS, charged with obtaining a Bill of Exchange by fraud. He was discharged, and nothing has since been heard of. him. He was convicted on the 15th October, 1867, and sentenced to 5 years penal servitude at Havefordwest, on the 14th March, 1874, at Appleby Sessions, and sentenced to 2 years hard labour and 2 years supervision. He was sentenced to 7 years penal servitude on the 14th July, 1869. at the Derby Assizes, for rape at Hadfield.
