Absconded on the 7th instant, charged with stabbing : a youtb, IS years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, hair, and eyes ; dressed in grey overcoat, dark suit, bard black felt bat, a cabinet maker.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, December 15. On the 5th instant, about 4 p. m , the dead body of a newly Lorn male infant was found on the ice in a pool, by the road side, at hartlebury. At the coroner's inquest, a verdict of ' Wilful Murder against some person unknown' was returned. Information to be given to Superintendent Raby, Great Witley, or to Sergeant Ganderton, Stourport, Worces tershire.— Bow- street, December 10. for Ireland,' with a text of scripture under each. The Box. contained about 5s. and some Coppers, Beveral Receipts and Papers, aud a small red worsted Glove. Two men and a woman are suspected from the footmarks. Information to be given to Superintendent Wilson, Tattenhall, or to Ser- geant Powell, Malpas, Cheshire.— Bow street, December 15. Stolen from a watchmaker's shop at Bolton, between 10.30 p. m. the 8th aud 8.45 am. the 9th instant, by taking down a shutter forming a portion of the door : 1 silver English lever Watch, centre Beconds, domoback, extra jewelled, maker's name ' C. and E. Isherwood, Bolton,' No. 43,280. 2 silver English lever Watches, gold joints, double sunk dials, chronomer balance, ' Oversprung.' The num- bers are made up of five figures, the four first being 2653. 1 or 2 silver Geneva Watches, maker ' Nichol, Geneve,' on the dial ; private mark ' S. O. | y' scratched on the back of the case. 1 or 2 silver Geneva Watches, maker ' Henri Touchon' on the dial. 1 Boston silver lever Watch, with the words ' Patent Lever' on the dome, maker's name either ' Nichol, Geneve,' or ' Henri Touchon.' 1 lady's small Geneva gold Watch. 1 silver Geneva Watch. 1 lady's gold Victoria Albert ChaiD, snake pattern, with ball ornaments, about 4 inches apart. Between 6 and 8 p m. on the 6th icstant, the dwelling- house of Mrs. Gatonsbury, Horninglow road, Burton- on- Trent, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a seal- skin Purse, containing £\ ; four small Coins ; a gold Brooch, crescent pattern ; a lady's gold watch Chain, with a mourning Locket, chased, attached ; a pair cf gold sleeve Links; and a new waterproof Coat. Between 6 30 and 8 30 p. m. on the 5th instant, the dwelling- house pf Mr. William Bachlor, Saint Loyes- street, Bedford, was entered by means of skeleton keys, aud stolen therein: twelve silver tea Spoons, marked ' B.' iu old English ; six electro- plated desert Spoons; two Apostle Spocns, gilded ; four gold Pins ; a gold Brooch ; and about £ 3 in Money. Supposed by a mail about 5 feet 7 inches high ; dressed in a dark brown coat, dark trousers, and black hand, dark brown moustache, no whiskers; was employed as lamp trimmer for the last six weeks with Mrs. Edmunds, Wombwell's Menageiie, ana previously with Footit's circus. He is also suspected of having stoleu from the above- named menagerie, on the eame date : a light- colouted mackintosh Coat, has a pocket on right side, and lias only one light bone button on J two pairs of Boots, one pair with black fronts and elastic sides, neaily new, the other elastic sides, with plain toecaps; also a light tweed monkey Jacket, brown velvet collar, two packets on right side, and one on left. Charged with stealing a Post Letter, recovered, on the 10th ultimo, at Duth& m : HENRY CHUDLEY, a postman, a native of Sandford, near Crediton, Devonshire, about 32 years of age, about 5 feot 4 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, whiskers, aud moustache, shaved on chin, much addicted to drink ; diessed iu a uniform as a rural postman, has been a schoolmaster and a grccsr's porter ; has testimonials in his possession from persons in Durham and neighbourhood. Absconded from Pilsley, on the 10th instant, charged with stealing tweuty tame Pigeons ( siuce recovered) : JOHN FARMER, a collier, and a native of Nottingham ( where his father keeps a public- house), 21 years of age, 5 feet J inches high, light sandy hair, brown eyes, ' C. J:' and sickle outside right forearm, and ' F.' outside left forearm. He was dis- charged from Leicester County Gaol on the lst Sept., 1875, after serving six months for shopbreaking. Information to be given to Superintendent Coope, County Police Station, Alfreton, Derbyshire, who holds the warrant for his appre- sion.— Bow- street, December 17. Escaped from Kilmersdon Police Station, on the 11th instant, charged on a warrant with larceny : GEORGE GOULD, of Midsomer Norton, a labourer, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, very dark hair, whiskers, and moustache, of very dirty appearance ; dressed in old dirty slop, cord trousers, very old ; has the appearance of a low tramp. Information to be given to Superintendent Deggar, Frome, or to Sergeant Edmonds, Kilmersdon, near Bath, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow street, December 17. Stolen from a dwelling- house in Ashton- under- Lyne, on the 11th instant: a peach coloured Cloak, Tippet attached; a black twilled Skirt, with two flounces; two flannel Petticoats, one white, with five tucks, one led ; a peach and white striped Petticoat, has one deep flounce, bound with peach braid ; a large twill Sheet ; and a pair of Clogs. By a female lodger, about 20 years of age, 5 feet high, dark brown hair, and slender build. She may seek work at cotton mills. Information to be given to Chief Constable Dalgliesh, Town Hall, Ashton- under- Lyne, Lancashire.— Bow- street, Decem- ber 17. ISAAC WILLIAMS, against whom a true bill was found at the last Brecknockshire Quarter Sessions, charged with stealing two copper Ingots, as advertised in the Police Gazette of the 3rd ultimo, is still at large. An additional reward of £ b will be paid by his sureties if apprehended before the text Brecknockshire Quarter Sessions. Informa- tion to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Price, Brecon, or to Sergeant Jones, Ystradgunlais, Swansea Valley, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- atree', December 17. Stolen on the 15th instant, at Faringdon: a Paint Brush, Dust Brush, Putty Knife, Hammer, Chisel, Knife, and Flag Basket, the property of Thomas Sims. By a tramping painter, from 30 to 35 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, sandy beard and moustache ; dressed in black cloth jacket, dark grey trousers, and white billycock hat. Some of the Tools are marked ' T. Sims.' Information to be given to Superintendent Reece, Farringdon, Berks.— Bow- ttreet, December 17. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Wigan on the night of the 4th September last : a single plaid woollen Shawl, black, white, puce, aud grey plaid, nearly new; a double- breasted dark tweed Coat, with long skirts, two pockets outside with flaps, and one inside left breast ; a single- breasted black cloth shooting Coat, two pockets outside ar. d one inside left breast, lined with black alpaca; a double- breasted dark cloth Vest, torn at one Bide ; a pair of dark tweed Trousers, fall fronts, lined throughout with white calico ; a pair of men's elastic- side Boots; and a magenta and white silk Pocket- handkerchief. By FRANCIS TAFE, who lodged at the house two nights : he is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark curly hair cut short, no whiskers or moustache, long and pale face; dressed in black billycock hat, old black cloth shooting coat, grey tweed trousers, and low shoes ; frequents public- houses, dancing and singing for a living. Also stolen, on the afternoon of the 20th ultimo, from a dwelling- house in Wigan : a puce stuff Dress, old- fashioned, torn in the body ; a black silk Dress, new, with pollings on breast; a white flannel Petticoat; a white twill calico Skirt; two bleached calico Skirt; a black and red plaid woollen Shawl ; a maroon woollen Jacket, with puce border ; and a pair of women's elastic- side Boots. By JANE MARROW, who lodged in the house about a week, and left about 6' 30 p. m. on the 20th ultimo : she is 23 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, full face, fresh complexion, black hair, slightly pockpitted ; dressed in black bonnet, black cloth jacket, light wiusr- y skirt, and elastic- side boots ; she has with her a female child about 2 years of age, light com- plexion, light curly hair ; dressed in black velvet jacket, li « ht cotton frock, straw hat with blue and white ribbon round, and red leather boots ; she states that she came from Manchester. Information to be given to Chief Constable Williams, Wigan, Lancashire,— Bow street, December 15. Absconded from Hednesford, on the 11th instant, charged with stealing a Sovereign : JOHN CUNIFF, Irish labourer, 24 years of age, 5 feet 11 ins. high, proportionately built, fresh complexion, round features, rather long nose, light brown hair, and slight whiskers ; dressed in a short blue pilot jacket, blue cloth trousers, dirty soft white billy- cock hat, much turned up at sides, aud strong lace up boots. He is very erect, of smart appearance, and is now supposed to be making his way to Ireland. Information to be given to Superintendent Hill, Police Station, Brownhills, near Walsall, or to Police Constable Cockerell, Police Station, Hednesfoid, near Stafford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- stteet, December 15. Absconded from Compton, Dorset, on the 7th instant, charged with larceny : GEORGE TRAVES, 28 years of age, 5 feet 9£ inches high, fresh complexion, hazel eyes and brown hair. ~ He was lately a constable in the Dorset Con- stabulary. Information to be given to Superintendent Smith, Yeovil, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, December 13. Stolen from a dwelling- house at the Butts, Walsall, at 5- 30 a. m. on the 7ih instant : a black cloth Overcoat, with vslvet collar ; a dark cloth tweed Jacket, Trouserf. and Vest; two pairs of dark cloth Trousers ; aud a pair of lace- up boots, belonging to a boy about 14 yeais of age. By a fellow lodger, 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark hair and eyes, no whiskers or moustache ; dressed in old dark clothes, hard low- crowned hat, old lace- up boots, straps round the legs of his trousers ; he works at Berving bricklayers, and has recently worked on the new railway at Rushall. WHIFFEN ( advertised in the Police Gazette of the 10th ultimo, charged with larceny at Stanstead, Kent), has been apprehended and remanded. ALFRED LETCH- FORD, alias CHALKEY, is still at large. Information to be given to Superintendent Hulse, Police Station, West Mailing, near Maidstone, Kent.— Bow- street, December 13. Stolen from the Engineer Barricks,^ 01d Brompton, Kent, on the 11th instant : a silver lever hunting Watch, capped and jewelled, No. 2330 ; has attached a gold Albert Chain, Maltese make, a gold Locket with Maltese Cross on it, a silver Pencil- case with Penholder at one end, and a gold Split Ring. By a man about 19 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, pale complexion, and scar on upper lip ; dressed in cloth jacket, dirty fustian trousers, hard felt bat, and military shoes, stamped 1218 | R. E. [ 9| 75, which ave stolen. He is likely to be found abcut barracks, pretending that he wants to enlist. Information to be given to Superintendent Coppinger, Chatham, Kent.— Bow- st., December 13.
