Stolen from the person on the 13th instant, at Louth : a silver pair- case verge Watch, No. 2294 or 2297, with English figures, and a long pendant, has a steel Chain, with 3d. Piece, two watch Keys, aud a Common brass Seal attached. Supposed by FRANCIS GLYNN, a bricklay er's labourer, and a native of Louth : 24 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, brown hair, pale complexion, has a tuft of hair on cliiD, walks very erect, and has served in the Royal Marines and North Lincoln Militia; he was dressed iu light moleskin trousers and vest, white smock, dark cap, and lace- up boots. During the night of the 22t. d instant, the booking office at the Midland Railway Station, Yate, Gloucestershire, was broken into, and stolen therein : a £ 5 Note, Bank of England ( Stuckey's, Bristol) ; £ 3 in gold, and £ Z Is. 7d. in silver aud copper Monies; a parcel containing two eider down Quilts, one of a red colour, the other darker; a servant's Livery, consisting of a frock Coat, claret- coloured cloth, red binding, a pair of drab cloth Breeches and Gaiters, and a pair of cotton Drawers ; a Hare ; and a Pheasant; the property of the Midland Railway Company. Supposed by a man about 34 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 iuches high, rather stout make, dark sandy whiskers ; respectably dressed iu dark clothes ; he is a house decorator, and a native of London. Information to be given to Superintendent Ellison, Constabulary Oflice, Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire.— Bow- street, November 26. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 9 aud 10 a. m. on] the 6th ultimo, at East Peckham,; Kent, the property of Thomas Atkins and Son : a dark corded sleeved Waistcoat; three Dresses, one brown ; a grey Jacket, Vest, and Trousers ; a pair of men's Boots, specked and nailed ; and a pair of women's side- spring Boots. By GEORGE GULSTON, a person under police supervision, who was liberated from St. Albans Prison on the 10th April, 1874, and a woman, name unknown ; both were at East Peckham during the hop picking ; Gulston is a painter, 28 years of age, 5 feet a iuches high, aud has scars on forehead, thumbs, and left leg ; he is a native of Watford, Herts, where he resided after his release from prison, but was subsequently transferred to Uxbridge. Information to be given to Superinteudtnt Hulse, Kent Con- stablary, West Malling, who holds the warrant for their apprehension.— Bow- street, November 24. Between 6.30 and 8 p. m. on the 21st instant, the dwelKng- house of Mr. John Green, of Castle street, Chesterton, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a silver patent lever stop Watch, No. 88G011, maker Joseph Moses, Bishop Auck- land, has a plaited leather Guard attached ; a silver verge Watch, double- cased. No. 8349, maker William Been, London, white dial, gold hands ; a brass Chain aud Key ; and a silver Ette, lined with gold, and the letters ' A. B.' on top of lid. Information to be given to Sergeant Stanton, Constabulary Office, Chesterton, near Newcastle- under- Lyme, Staffordshire. — Bow- street, November 24. Stolen by means of housebreaking ; a dark cloth Over- coat, with black velvet cellar, pockets outside with flaps, and one inside breast pocket; a suit of black Cloth, nearly new ; a suit of plaid Cloth, new; two pairs of woollen Stockings ; a blue Scarf; a new woollen Shirt; and a green clasped Purse, containing six Sovereigns, the property of John Shone, Red Wither, Issacoed. Also stolen from the house of Margaret Rogers, of the same place, on the same day : a silver half pint Measure, engraved ' Overton Agricultural Society'; a silver cream Jug; two silver table Spoons; six large silver tea Spoons, marked ' J. M. R.'; six smaller ditto, marked ' J. R.'; a silver Bait Spoon; a silver mustard Spoon, marked ' J. B.'; a pair of silver sugar Tongs, marked ' J. B.' ; and 9s. in Silver. They have since been recovered, aud WILLIAM ROWLAND, alias WREXHAM BILL, has been apprehended for stealing the same, and is remanded until the 26th instant. Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Neachill Wednesfield, during the night of the 19th instant, ar dark chestnut Mare, 13i hands high, aged, blind of near eye, and in fair couditiou ; the property of Mr. Richard Bate, Moseley Village. Stolen on the 20th instant, from New Pye- street, West- minster : a light chestnut horse Pony, 14 hauds high, rising 3 years, clean cut, white blaze down face, off hiud foot white, long tail and mane, turning silvery, unshod, and not broken for harness.— Metropolitan Police, B Division, November 26. Found straying on the 19th instant, at Passenham, Northamptonshire, and supposed to have been stolen : a chesnut cart Mare, aged, about 16 hands high, white face and legs, is in very low condition, and suffering from a large sore behind near shoulder. Stolen from a field at Wyrley, during the night of the 8th instant : a bay Mare, aged, 15j hands high, very long body, and in low condition, the property of Mr. James Walker, Wyrley. Supposed stolen from a field near Haughton Railway Station, during the night of the 14th instant ; the property of the Rev C. S. Supposed to have bsen stolen en the 4i'i iastsnt, from a Seld at Neachill, Wednesfield : a black Coll, aged 9 months, about 8 or 3 hands high, a small bit off the right ear, and is in good condition ; the property of Mr. George Hyde. Stolen from a field at Preston, Gloucestershire, on the 15th instant: a bay Mare, rising 4 years old, 14 hands high,, four black points, tail cut., burn mark on near side behind the shoulder ; the property of Mr. Thomas Howard, Little- Marcle. Found, supposed to have been stolen, about the 12th of; August last, a dark brown half- bred Mare, 5 years, old, 1G hands high, black legs, switch tail, and very good action. Stolen from a bsdroom at an hotel at Brighton, about midday on the 23rd instant: a gentleman's gold Geneva Watch, gold face, plain back, very good case, nearly new. Supposed by a man about 36 years of age, but looks older, dark whiskers, with about a week's growth of beard, and high cheekbones, shabbily dressed ; in brown clothes, dark overcoat, soft slouched felt hat, and earned a large brown portmanteau. Information to be given to Chief Constable White, Brighton, Sussex.— Bow- street, November 26. Absconded on the 20th instant, from South- place, Finsbury, stealing £ 728 16?., the monies of his employer : a man, 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache, slightly turniug grey, very slightly pockmarked ; dressed iu dark grey overcoat, blue undercoat, mixture trousers, and black hat.— Metropolitan Police, G Division, November 26. Absconded on the 9th instant, from Loughborough Parade, Brixton, charged with embezzling £ 30: a man, 36 years of age, 5 feet 10 inohes high, dark complexion, hah, and whiskers ; dressed in light tweed suit and black billycock 1 hat.— Metropolitan Police, W Division, November 26. Stolen from the new railway at Daw End, near Walsall, during the night of the 19th inst. : fcur Shovels ( recovered). By an Irish navvy, from 30 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 iuches higb, dark hair, thin face, nn whiskers or moustache, sore j eyes, and a dark blue mark across his nose ; dressed in old pilot jacket, moleskin trousers, billycock hat, aid strong lace- up boots ; he has a dirty appearance. Description of THOMAS MATTHEWS, of Shipley, I near Bridgnorth, charged with larceny as a bailee : 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches higb, dark complexion, black curly hair, slight moustache ; dressed in dark clothes and strong lace- up boots, and looks like a jockey ; he is well known among cattle dealers and drovers in Staffordshire and Shrop- shire. Information to be given to Sergeant Rushton, Trysull, near Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 26. Description of EDWARD GEORGE HILLIER, a mill- worker, a native of London, who has absconded with £ 30 of his employers money : he is 23 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 ius. high, light brown hair, no whiskers, slight moustache, florid complexion, and has a bad leg ; diessed in a shabby suit of dark brown tweed, dark cloth cap, with cloth peak, dirty white cotton muffler, with red stripe, and Lorne shoes. In- formation to be given to Superintendent McKay, Burgh- buildings, Galashiels, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- sion.— Bow- street, November 24. Absconded on the 15th instant, from 115A, Aldersgate- street, charged with stealing the sum of £ 94, the monies of his employer : a youtb, 19 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, high shoulders, short body, tbiu, pale face, long nose, and dark hair ; dressed iu dark clothes. Dasfiiption of ROBERT MORRISON, a labourer or miner, charged with larceny at Coxhoe, on the 20th instant; 34 years of age, 5 feet 4| inches high, fair complexion, dark brown hair, turning grey, scars on calf of right leg and near right eye, and has lost nearly all his teetb. lie was liberated from Portland Convict Prison on the 20th February last, after serving 7 years penal servitude for larceny ; he had pre- viously been convicted at Bishop Aucklaud, and other places in the county of Durham. Rhondda Valley, on the 10th instant, charged with stealing Half a Sovereign, the property of William John, his employer : HARRY WILLIAMS, alias HENRY WILLIAMS, a tramping tailor, 47 years of age, about 5 feet high, dark complexion, hair, whiskers aud moustache, turniug grey, dark eyes, and bald on top of the head; dres3ed in an ol « l black frock coat, old dark cloth trousers and vest, new elastic- side boots, aud old black bowler hat. He is a native of Stroud, has lived at Chel- tenham, is much addicted to drink, and takes snuff. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Cannock, near Stafford, on the 18th iustant : a silver lever Watch, No. 9143, maker J. H. Jackson, Tunstall, cream- coloured dial, and seconds. By a lodger, . who gave the name of SAMUEL TAYLOR, 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 fir 8 incjhes high, 4ark eyes aud com- plexion, long thin faco, slight dark moustache, uo whiskers; dark hail", slender bull ), and is a little cross- eyed ; dressed in a dark cloth suit, elastio- side boots, and hard black felt bat; he is a shoemaker, aud stated that he served his apprentice- ship in Manchester. Absconded from Warwick, on the 14th instant, charged with larceny: a man named MITCHELL JOHNSON, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 10J inches high, fresh complexion, fair hair, small light whiskers, left knee- cap broken,, and w'Iks a little lame; dressed iu a light grey overcoat, grey trousers, and felt billycock hat; he is a tramping barber, aud is sup- posed to have gone to Sheffield. Absconded from Wigtown,, charged with stealing on the 12th- instant, a quantity of Wearing Apparel ( recovered) : ROBERT BRUCE or HAMILTON, a navvy aud native erf Wigtownshire, aboiit 30 years of age, about 6 feet higb, dark hair, no whiskers, aud ratljer xed beard; dressed iu rough cap, vfith peak, dark tweed jacket, much faded, vest of same material, white muffler, with black spots, old diity moleskin trousers, aud. old lace boots, much worn. It is supposed that h, e has gone to Carlisle or Ayr ; he generally works on railways or other public works. Information to be given to Chief Constable Murphy, Wigtown, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Nov. 22. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Oldham, on the 10th instant_: a black cloth Jacket, pockets at each side, and torn on right elbow; a double- breasted black cloth Vest, two rows of buttons on breast; a pair of black cloth Trousers, fly fronts, calico lining ; a flauuel Shirt; a large Muffler, red border, imitation fox head at each corner; a pair of grey Stockings; and a blue satiu Necktie. By WILLIAM LEEK, a compositor, about 26 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches higb, dark complexion and moustache, and light curly hair ; dressed in dark tweed suit, grey Hannel shirt, bl& ck billycock hat, and low shoes. He is well known at York, Leeds, and Bradford. Description of ADAM PHILLIPS, who is charged at Whitehaven, Cumberland, with stealing, on the 4th ultimo, a Sewing Machine ( recovered) : about 20 year3 of age, fair complexion, slight fair moustache, brdwn hair, and propor- tionate niake ; dressed in a light grey suit of clothes, cap with peak, and large muffler ; he is a baker, and a native- of Glasgow. Description of WILLIAM DAVIES, alias JARRETT, alias BARRETT, who escaped from the Police at Swansea, Great Western Railway Station, while being conveyed to Swansea Prison, under a sentence of one month's bard labour, for larceny on the 6th instant: 15 to 16 years of age, 5 ft. inch high, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, bazsl eyes, and scar on right cheek ; he is a native of Mountain Ash : dressed in an old duck jacket, old moleskin trousers, and black cloth cap, all dirty from sleeping in them in works ; he is a collier aud smith striker. Absconded since the 26th ultimo, charged with obtaining the sum of £ 2 10s, by means of false pretences.: WILLIAM HENRY SHORT, late of 113, Shad Thames, Bermondsey, 44 y « ars of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, foil- complexion, brown hair turning grey, large features, affected manner of speakiug, and stoops a little when walking ; dressed in dark tweed suit and billycock hat. Warrant issued.— Metropolitan Police, M Division, November 26. Obtained by fraud, on the 15th ultimo, from Vargue's Hotel, Leicester- place : the sum of £ 100. Description of two women charged with stealing a pnr of Boots, at Mitcheldean, on the 19th instant: SOPHIA DUNN, no fixed residence, a pedlar, C3 years of age, 4 feet 10 inches high, black hair turning grey, hazel eyes, long face, dark complextion, scar on upper lip, face nearly covered with scars, and right hand has been injured ; dressed in a brown spotted stuff skirt, black body, light small plaid woollen shawl, black crape bonnet, light cotton apron, and shoes, all old aud much worn ; states she is well known at Mr. Lewis's public- house, Chipping Sodbury ; Mr. Brown's lodging- house, Coleford; Airs.
