Wotlce.— It is requested that all communications for the purpose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolon property, may bear tbe Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to the Editor, Police Court, Bow Street, London, W. Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably necsssary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. MUEDEB AND MALICIOUSLY WOUOIKG Description of five Irish labourers who absconded from the neighbourhood of Lymm, Cheshire, on the night of the 31? t ultimo, and who are charged with wounding James Wibberley, a police constable : JAMES HEALEY, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark complexion, dark whiskers all round the chin, and rather stout build ; dressed in black billycock hat, grey frieze coat, tweed vest and trousers with coloured stripe down legs, and lace- up boots. MALACHI CONROY, 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, little ^ whiskers, and pockpitted; dressed, in a oillycock bat, dar'.. cloth coat, and very clean cord trousers. PATRICK MORLEY, alias FISH, 28 years of age, fresh complexion, rather long features, and thick lips ; dressed in cord jacket. JOHN MORLEY, alias FISH, about 24 years of age, 5 ft. 5 iuches high, fresh complexion, very little whiskers, and rather stout built; dressed in light tweed coat, and dark cloth trousers. JAMES MORLEY, alias FISH, 18 years of age ; dressed in grey frieze coat. James Healey, Patrick, John, and James Morley came from Cloonfaughna, Knocks, county Mayo, Ireland. Stolen by means of house breaking on the 7th instant, from the dwelling- house of William Dyball, at Ranworth, Norfolk, carter : a £ 10 Note, and two £ b Notes, on Gurney's Bank ; £ 40 in Gold ; a silver Watch ; a sou'wester Hat; a grey calico Shirt; two blue Guernseys ; a pair of worsted Stockings ; and a pair of women's lace up leather Boots. By GEORGE POSTLE, of Gt. Yarmouth, labourer, about 48 years of age, 5 feet 5£ inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair and whiskers, turning grey, bald headed, grey eyes, round face, scar corner of right eye, crucifix, angel, trumpet, star and crescent tattooed on right upper arm, mermaid, Britannia, tross pipes, aud glass on right arm, star and dots on back of right hand, ' G. Postle,' ' M. Rook,' aud other marks on left arm, and ' R. Johnson,' inside left leg, and is very deaf. Supposed to be wearing the stolen clothes. £ 5 reward will be paid for his apprehension and recovery of the property. He has often been convicted of felony in Great Yarmouth, Nsrwicli, Scarborough, & c. Between 9 a. m. and 2 p. m. on the 9th instant, the house of Thomas Hoply, Parley Green, Overton, was entered liy forcing the front door with a coal hammer, and a nearly new black cloth Coat, pockets on hips, three Vests, a check Shirt, two pairs of tweed Trousers, and an old- fashioned silver verge Watch, stolen therein. Supposed by tramps. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Bolton, Hanruer, Whitchurch, Salop, or to Sergeant Matthews, Overton, Flint- shire.— Dow- street, November 12. On the 8th instant, a house at Llanfwrog, near Ruthin, was broken into, and a blue monkey Jacket, nearly new, with pockets at the sides and breast, and an old single- barrel Gun, stolen therein. Supposed by a maD, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, large nose and mouth, and thick lips ; dressed in dark felt hat, dark monkey jacket, fustian trousers, and thick navvy boots. He spoke Welsh, appeared to be acquainted with the neighbourhood, and was in search of employment as a waggoner. Between 5 and 7 p. m. on the 7th instant, a dwelling- house at Batley Carr wa3 entered by means of false keys, and! stolen therein : 1 old- fashioned silver vergp hunting Watch, with white ' enamelled dial, slightly damaged, several indentations ou o jter case. 1 long flat silver Chain, much worn, and tied with thread at a broken place. 3i yards of drab tweed Cloth, 27 inches wide. 2] yards of black doeskin Cloth, 27 iuches wide. 1J yard of black army Cloth, 60 inches wide. 1 pair of women's new Boots, with cloth uppers, and patent leather round the bottoms. I pair of silver Sugar Tongs, marked ' B. E. S.' 1 gold Brooch, snake pattern. 1 gold Brooch, set with pearl. 1 gold Brooch, containing hair, and the words ' In memory of' in centre. 1 black Brooch, with a blue heart- shaped stone in centre. 1 pair of jet Bracelets. 1 Thaler, 1 Franc, and several other foreign Coins. £ 0 5*. in Gold aud Silver. Stolen between 6 and 8 p. m. on the 7th instant, from the residence of Mrs. Prichard. at Emscote, Warwick, by means of skeleton keys : a gold Chain, with a hand, set with blue and red stones ; a pair of pearl Ear- rings ; a pair of gold filigree ditto and Brooch ; a gold Ear- ring with six turquoise; a gold Ring, two small snakes, Bet with topaz ; a gold ditto, with hair ; a gold ditto, set with pearls and red stones, broken ; a silver- mounted Smelling Bottle ; a Scarf Pin, crystal in silver ; a mourning gold Soaif ditto, broken ; three plain gold Rings ; a silver Pencil- case ; four silver Buttons ; and a few silver Coins. Stolen by means of burglary at Chatham, on the morning of the 7th instant : nine white embossed silk Pocket Hand- kerchiefs, with a bird in each corner, marked ' L.' in pencil at one corner ; nine ditto, with spotted borders; a pair of mixture cloth Trousers, fly fronts ; aud a double- breasted Vest of the same material. Supposed to have been stolen on the 6th instant, from a field at Bloxwich, near Walsall : a red roan Cart Horse, aged, 15 hands high, white star on forehead, off hind fetlock white, small white spot upon each side of head near the ears, and long mane aud tail. Information to be given to Chief Con- stable Cater, Walsall, Staffordshire.— Bow street, November 12. Escaped on the 7th instant, about 11 a. m., from the county lock- up, at Wrexham, where he wa3 remanded, charged with stealing a Cow: El) WARD JACKSON, alias GEORGE FISHER, under Police Supervision, a native of Wrexham, 24 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, very daik red hair, clean shaved, excepting a small sandy moustache ; dressed in an old dark cloth shooting jacket, the pockets much torn, vest of same material, dirty moleskin trousers, lace- up boots, and c'oth cap with peak, idl in one piece, and clean white shirt. Obtained by fraud on the 4th instant, from Sharpless Hall- street: a dark brown cob horse Pony. 14 hands high, long coit, and short tail ; a Saddle with black stain on seat;' and a suittlle Bridle. By a youth 17 years of age, 5 ft. 2 ins. high, fair complexion, and light brown hair ; dressed in blue overcoat, velvet collar, blue pilot jacket underneath, dark trousers and vest, laced boots, and cheesecutter cap with gold band.— Metropolitan Police, S Division, Novsmber 10. Stolen on the 27th ult, at the Cowhill Fair, Newcaatle- on- Tyne : a black Horse, 8 years old, 15 hands high, small white spot on forehead, and spot near left eye. By JOSEPH DENT, 39 years of aye, 5 feet 5 inches high, slender make, thin features, aud dre.- eed in a grey tweed suit; has been a jockey. Stolen from a field at Selby WLk, on the 30th ultimo : a dark brown Pony, 13 hands 1 inch high, hog mane, and rough coat, the. propel ty of Mr. Henry Webley. Stolen from the workshop of a watchmaker and jeweller, at Warrington, ou the Uth instaut : a silver patent lever Watob, No. 1408, gold hands. By ROBERT SMITH, a journeyman watchmaker, he is 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 iuches high, sallow complexion, very daik straight hair and mous- tache, aud is a native of Great Yarmouth. Has worked iu Liverpool, Runcorn, aud Warrington. Information to be given to Chief Constable Hunt, Warrington, Lancaster,— Bow- street, November 12. Stolen on the 2nd instant, from a racing stable at New- market : a brown Top Coat, with velvet collar; a mixed tweed Jacket; a pair of drab Breeches ; a pair of drab cloth Leggings; a pair of dark cloth ditto; a violet aud black Scarf ; a blue and white Scarf ; a pair of Boots ; and some Shirt Collars. By a stableman, called GEORDIE, about 30 years of age, short, about 9 stone weight, dark complexion, and full beard ; dressed in a dark cap with ear- laps, blue stable jacket, daik striped trousers, and old boots. Informa- tion to be giveu to Superintendent Benson, Newmarket, Cambs.— Bow- strset, November 12. Remanded at romsey Police Station, until the 12th instaut, charged with larceny: JAMES SMITH, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, black hair and moustache, has lost two joints from the right fore- finger, and the whole of his body is covered with spots of leprosy ; dressed in hard felt hat, old brown topcoat, dark striped trousers, and lace- up boots. Information to be given to Superintendent Kellaway, Hants Constabulary, Ronney. — Bow- street, November 12. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Warrington, on the 10th instaut: a short brown cloth Overcoat, plain collar, two pockets outside, lined with blue woollen plaid ; a single- breasted blue cloth Vest, buttons up to throat; a pair of grey striped tweed Trousers ; a pair of elastic- side Boots ; a new blue pilot Overcoat, with velvet cillar; a pair of blue plaid cloth Trousers and Vest; a new black cloth single- breasted Vest; a common Suit of grey mixture Clothes, much worn ; and an old coloured stuff Muffler, faded. October 22 No. 59 St. Thomas- street, Wells, on the morning of the 10th instant: a small black leather travelling Bag ; a rose- wood Workbox; a small morocco Writing- case; a small mahogany medicine Chest, with two Bottles; a small American Timepiece, in black stand ; a glass Inkstand, with brass fittings ; a large household Dictionary, by Collins, aud ten other Books; a large white Table- cloth, marked ' M. A. E.'; an unbleached calico Sheet, worn and seamed through centre; a red spotted cotton Handkerchief ; a boy's light flauuel Shirt • a man's calico Shirt ; and some Bread, Bacon, aud Butter. By a man who obtained lodgings at the house for the night, and left about 6 a m. ; he stated that he bad worked iu Bath as a painter, for the last 4 years, but was theu working in Wells, which was false : he is about 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, proportionate made, fresh complexion, brown hair, and small moustache and whiskers ; dressed in a black frock coat, light brown trousers, and black stiff bowler hat ; he left a white pocket- handkerchief behind marked ' G. M. Ston, 6.' Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bisgood, Somerset Constabulary, Glaston- bury, or to Sergeant Vowles, Wells, Somerset.— Bow- street, November 12. Stolen from a saddle room at Hartford, Cheshire, on the 6th instant : a Bilver lever Watch, maker Stewart, Liverpool, capped and jewelled iu 3 holes, with gold Albert Guard and Locket attached, with horse's head oil the outside and photograph of a gentleman inside ; and £ 5 10s. in Gold. By JAMES HORSFALL, alias JAMES GLENNY, a tramping oToom, well known iu Manchester, 23 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, slender make, no whiskers or moustache, has a red mark about the size of a shilling near the left eye, and wears a silver hoop on left little finger, with a heart in the centre ( which he cannot get off) ; dressed in a black felt hat, dark coat and vest, and light trousers, with black stripes. He will probably seek work in hunting or racing stables. £ 2 reward will be paid on recovery of the Watch and conviction of tbe offender. Description of WILLIAM ADAMS, charged ( on a warrant) with stealing at Stoke- on- Trent, on the 25th ultimo : one metal case keyless Geneva Watch ; one English lever Watch ; one American lever Watch ; five gold keeper Rings ; two Wedding BiDgs ; one Case of gold Studs ; two gold Albert Chains ; and two Plated ditto ditto ; the property of Messrs. Welsh and Hassell, his employers : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, dark complexion, slightly built, and blind of one eye. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Longden, Stoke- on- Trent, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November i2. Absconded from Shrewsbury," on the 3rd instant, charged with stealing a silver lever consular Watch, No. 9729 : a mau who gave the name of WILLIAM THOMAS, supposed fictitious, of Queen- road, Manchester, about 35 years of age, 5 ft. 7 ins. high, dark hair and whiskers, sallow complexion, full face, stout build, light blue marks on forehead and bridge of nose, which he states were caused by a railway accident, upper front teeth prominent; diessed in dark brown tweed overcoat, and soft billycock hat; he represented himself to be a traveller for the firm of Wm. Giddy & Company, stationers, & c., works at New Wortley, Leeds. Information to be given to Head constable Davies, Shrewsbury, who holds a warrant for his sJpp& nension.— Bow-' treet, November 12. Stolen from a cottage at Ombersley, near Worcester, cn the 3rd instant: between £ i and £ b in Gold and Silver Money, the property of Samuel Hodges. By a man, 22 years of age, 5 feet 3i inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, dark hazel eyes, pockmark on forehead, moles on right side of neck, and red birth maik on right arm ; dressed in a new suit of dark cloth, monkey jacket, and hard round hat; he occasionally works as a labourer. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Phillips, County Police Office,, Worcester.— Bow- street, November 10. Stolen from a bed- room at the Hook and Hatchet beer- house, Stanstead, Kent, during the night of the 9th ultimo, the property of William Watts : one blue cloth Jacket with pockets on hips; one double- breasted Vest to match, with a pocket inside right breast; one pair dark mixture cloth Trousers, bell bottoms; one white Cashmere Wrapper, with round red rings on it. By ALFRED LETCHFORD, alias CHALKEY, a lodger, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, Bmall eyes, light hair, and small whiskers ; dressed in the stolen Clothes, browu cloth cap with flaps, and light lace- up shoes. And WILLIAM WHIFFIN, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, and dark complexion ; dressed in corded suit, billycock hat, . heavy lace- up boots, and the stolen Wrapper. They are both natives of Kingsdown, near Dartford. Information to be given to Superintendent Hulse, Police Station, West Malling, Kent, who holds the warrant for their apprehension— Bow- street, November 10. Stolen from a stable at Park Farm, near Oswestry, daring the night of the 2nd instant: a blue pilot Jacket, two outside and one inside pockets, lined with blue and red plaid flannel, torn at back of collar, buttons deficient, and a butcher's Knife, brown handle, with three rive's. By an Irishman, from 45 to 50 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, pale complexion, grey hair and whiskers, and slightly pockmarked; dressed in brown and white otiiped cloth trousers, old dark brown jacket and vest, hard worn, old hard black hat, and a blue handkerchief round his waist. He is supposed to be known ia Wrexham, and to beloDg to the Welshpool Militia. He is a pensioner from the 24th Regt. of Foot, is likely to be found buying old rope, rags, & c., and lodging at common lodging- houses, or sleeping in farm buildings. Information to be given to Superintendent Gough, County Constabulary Office, Oswestry, Salop.— Bow- street., November 10. Absconded from Bolton, charged with stealing a large quantity of Leather : PATRICK FITZPATRICK, a shoe- maker, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, pale complexion, sandy bair and whiskers ; dressed iu old black cloth shooting coat, old dirty tweed cloth trousers, hard black billycock bat, and old shoes ; he is a member of the shoe- maker's club, and has worked in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow, Oldham, Wakefield, and is likely to call at Wigan; be has been convicted at Sheffield of a similar offence ; he is accompanied by a woman who passes as his wife ; dressed in dirty old blue frock, and shawl over her head; she baa with her a boy about 5 years of age. Infor- mation to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Bolton, Lan- cashire, who holds a warrant for his arrest. — Bow- street, November 10. Absconded from Horse Hay, in the parish of Dawley, on the 4th instant, charged with stealing from a dwelling- house at Horse Hay, a black cloth Jacket and Vest ( recovered); a pair of elastic- side Boots ; a Polonaise ; and two pairs of linen Cuffs. J ULIA HURD, 22 years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, dark hair, cut short on the forehead, and fair complexion ; dressed in black jacket, black and green striped silk dress, plaid woollen shawl, black felt hat, with a jay's wing as feather, and elastic- side boots ; sho is supposed to be in Birmingham. Information to be given to Chief Superin- tendent Richardson, Wellington, or to Sergeant Higgins, Dawley, Salop, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, November 10. Stolen during the night of the 28th ultimo, from a stable at Lees Hill, Kingwater : a rough grey Overcoat, single- breasted, has six black bone buttons in front, and a pocket ou each side ; a check cotton Jacket; a white cotton Jacket; a red and white woollen Muffler ; a pair of lace- up watertight Boots : aud a pair of lace- up Boots, with three hooks at the top of lace- holes, and toe- capped. Supposed by two tramps or cattle drovers, who were making their way towards Scot- land. Information to be given to Superintendent Carson, Brampton, or at the County Chief Constable's Office, Carlisle. - Bow- street, November 8.
