AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING, Description of five Irish labourers who absconded from the neighbourhood of Lymm, Cheshire, on the night of the 31 ultimo, and who are charged with wounding James Wibberley, a police constable : JAMES HEALEY, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or S inches bigb, dark complexion, dark whiskers all round the chin, and rather stout build ; dressed in black billycock hat, grey frieze coat, tweed vest and trousers with coloured stripe down legs, and lace- up boots. MALACHI CONROY, 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, little whiskers, and pockpitted; dressed in a " billycock hat, dark cloth coat, and very clean cord trousers. PATRICK MORLEY, alias FISH, 28 years of age, fresh complexion, rather long features, and thick lips ; dressed in cord jacket. JOHN MORLEY, alias FISH, about 2- 1 years of age, 5 ft. 5 inches high, fresh complexion, very little whiskers, and rather stout built; dressed in light tweed coat, and dark cloth trousers. JAMES MORLEY, alias FISH, 18 years of age ; dressed in grey frieze coat. James Healey, Patrick, John, and James Morley came from Cloonfaughna, Knocks, county Mayo, Ireland. Information to be given to Superintendent Steen, Altrincham, or to Sergeant Leighton, Police Station, Lymm, Cheshire, who holds warrants for their apprehension.— Bow- street, Nov. 5. ALEXANDER SCOTT alias CLAYTON, late of Bed- Hngton, Northumberland, was bailed for trial at the Quarter Sessions at Durham, on the 18th ultimo, on a charge of Malicious WoundiDg ; he did not surrender, and a true bill having been found agaiust him, his bail was estreated, and a bench warrant granted for his apprehension : he is 23 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, blue eyes, sallow complexion, downcast appearance, dark browu hair, and proportionate make ; he is a pitman, and much addicted to drinking and juarrelling. Information to be given to Superintendent Scott, < Jounty Police Station, Castle Eden, Durham.— Bow street, November 3. a At 8- 20 a. m. on the 12th ultimo, an attempt was made to effect a larceny at the residence of Mr. R. Turner, baker and confectioner, 151, High- street, Borough ( private door iu King- street), by a man, who said he had come for some bread for the Cannon- street Hotel, and while being served by the housekeeper, Jane Soper, he inflicted on her a wound with a life preserver, from the effects of which she died on the 5th instant, and a verdict of ' Wilful murder against some person unknown' was returned by the coroner's jury. The man suspected is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, broad and muscular, with long arms, fair complexion, and slight moustache ; dressed in black frock coat, black trousers, and clean boots ; he was seen to come from St. George's Church, Borough, and turn into King- street, on the above- mentioned day ; he took with him a large door key, and left behind false black whiskers about 7 ins. long, and moustache, and had the appearance of a baker or waiter. .£ 100 reward • will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person who will give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the person who committed this crime ; and the Secretary of State for the Home Depart- ment will advise the grant of Her Majesty's most gracious pardon to any accomplice ( if any), not being the person actually striking the blow, who will give such evidence as shall lead to a like result ; and a further reward of .£ 100 will be paid by Mr. Turner iu addition to that offered by Her Majesty's Government. Stolen from the persoa of Thomas Dean, at Davenham, at 1015 p. m. on the 1st instant: a silver Geneva Watch, No. 10371, black dial, and a thermometer underneath the pivot. Stolen from the person in Ripon, early on the morning of the 2nd instant : a gold lever Watch, engraved back, gold dome, sunk seconds, f- plate, hard dial, jewelled iu eighbholes, gold balance, No. 30482, private No. 1154, maker H. S. Smith, Leeds; a gold Albert Guard, long links; a brown leather Purse, elastic rather worn, containing about £ 9 in Gold. three Two- shilling Pieces, a Half- crown, and a Threepenny Piece ; a small brown paper Parcel, addressed ' E. Description of two women charged with larceny from the person on the 8th June last : ELIZABETH WHITE, a pedlar, bora at Maidstone, 33 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, aud pointed nose. And CATHERINE JONES, alias MARY ANN HAINES, 28 years of age, 5 feet 5 iuches high, dark com- plexion, black hair and eyes, pockpilted, and moles on face ; she gave her address Frog- lane, Exeter, and has lived at Dorchester. These women were committed for trial at the June Quarter Sesoions, and were liberated on bail till the quarter sessions on the 19th instant, when they failed to appear, and the Recorder issutd a warraut for their apprehension. Boulter, No, 1838 j BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING, Stolen from a watchmaker's shop iu Hull, by means of breaking a square of plate glass in a window, through an opening in a shutter, about 5 am. on the 1st instant: a silver Geneva Watch ; a lady's gold Chain, belcher pattern ; three or four gold albert Chains, one of them a graduated curb ; aud five or six plated Alberts, commonly known ns American or veneered. Between 2.30 and 4 p. m. on the 30th ultimo, the dwelling- house " of John Stubbs, of Edgton, Salop, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a white slop Jacket, one button off, and the seam near the cuff unsewn ; a pair of cotton- cord Trousers, flap front, one button off waistband; a blue and black plaid plush Waistcoat, a piece let into each seam ; two old unbleached calico Shirts; one puce and one black aud red Neckties, & c. By a tramp, about 23 years of age, 5 ft. 5 or 6 inches high, stout make, and dark complexion ; dressed in dark clothes. Between 6 and 7 40 p. m. on the 31st ultimo, the band- master's Quarters, at Paikhurst Barracks, were broken aud entered, and a Purse containing three Sovereigns ; four Half- sovereigns ; a bag Purse, containing £ I lis. iu Silver; an old monkey Jacket ; a suit of grey tweed Clothes ; and a pair of elastic- side Boots, stolen therein. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Newcastle- upon- Tyne.— Bow- street, Nvembcr 1. Between 10 a. m. on the 25th and 4 p. m. on the 26th ult., the dwelling- house of William Cox, labourer, of Burniston Moor, was broken and eatered and stolen therein : a double- breasted brown rough witney Overcoat, two pockets outside with flaps, and one inside left breast, small slate- ooloured bone buttons, small vent behind, and has not been much worn ; a grey cloth single- breasted Vest, dark wood or bone buttons; a pair of old brown cloth Trousers with yellow spots, fly fronts, mended on right knee with grey cloth ; a pair of elastic side Boots, men's size, galoshed, and not been soled; a silver Albert Guard Chain, plain round links, long Key with red stone ; and a new red and yellow cotton Handkerchief, un- hemmed. Three men of the following description were seen leaving the place about noon on the 26th ultimo, and going in the direction of Whitby, oue of them oarryirtg a bundle in red aud yellow handkerchief : One was about 20 to 25 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches higi, browu curly hair, slight dark moustache, and no whiskers ; diessed in blue trousers, very wide at the bottoms, bine woollen shirt or guernsey, old grey coat, and hard black felt hat. Another was 26 to 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inchcahigb. light brown hair, no whiskers, slight dark and moustache ; dressed in new fustian trousers, fustian vest, white harden jacket, dark woollen cap with peak aud black baad round, stitched m the shape of a diamond. And the'. other was about 20 to 22 years of aye, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, light brown hair, and no whiskers; dressed in dirty fustian trousers, no vest, new white harden jacket, and dark woollen cap with peak. One of the men will probably be wearing the stolen boots, as a pair of old shooting boots were left behind; the above men are all dirty looking, one of them had the appearance of a fisherman, and the others of mason's labourers. Leonard's, during the night of the 24th instant: a small brass skeleton Timepiece, maker Ives, Worthing, numerals on a circle in front, black hands ; a pair of Shoes, with elastic sides; a brown cotton Umbrella ; a black and white check tourist's Coat, maker Bevins ; a dressing Gown, pine pattern, colours red, brown, and white ; a pepper- and- salt cloth Vest, uo collar, single- breasted; a black cloth frock Overcoat, has been dyed ; and a brown hard felt hat. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Glenister, Hastings, Sussex.— Bow- street, October 27. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Further information respecting the Horses stolen from Aylestone, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 1st instant: the three men described have been apprehended in Birmingham, aud are remanded on charges of horse stealing ia that Borough till the 10th instant. The Carriage Horse, Saddles, and Bridles have not yet been recovered. Information to be given to Superintendent Moore, Belgrave, or at the County Constabulary Office, Leicester.— Bow- street, November 5. Stolen at Portsmouth on the 30th ultimo : a small dai k brown Pony, aged, rough mane, short tail, and lame in off hip. Also stolen an old dark green four- wheel Chaise, broad splash board, very low wheels, and plate3 of one of the hind springs loose ; and a set of silver- plated Harness. By a youth of respectable appearance and good address, about 16 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, and fair complexion ; dressed iu a drab suit and black felt hat. Information to be given to the Head Constable, Landport Police Station, Portsmouth, Hants.— Boit- street, November 5. Stolen from a stable at Gillingham, between 5 and lOp. m" on the 31st ultimo : a bay cob Mare, 13 or 14 hands high' aged, near hind fetlock white, small hind feet, rather long neck, and in fair condition. Information to be given to Superintendent Coppinger, Kent Constabulary, Chatham,— Bow street, November 3. Found ( supposed stolen) about a fortnight ago: a bay Horse, nsing 4 years old, small white spot on near side, brand mark ' 1875' on hoof ou near fore foot. Also a brown Horse, aged, about 16 hands high, saddle marked on both sides, large lump on knee of near fore leg, walks very lame, white hind feet, and in low condition. Supposed stolen from a field at the parish of Lilleshall, on the night of the 26th ultimo ; a brown Horse, 3 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high long bushy tail, a little white on one , Constable Oglethorpe, Borough hind foot, and the mark of a wart under the belly. A man who gave the name of ALBERT BENTLY, is charged with stealing the Bame, Supposed stolen between 10 p. m. on the 16th and 4 p. m. on the 17th instant, from the farm premises of Mr. William Ward, near the Castle Mill, Buckingham : a half- bred cade Lamb, long tail, and in good condition. If stolen, £ 5 reward will be paid for information as shall lead to the apprehension aud conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Superintendent Howe, Buckingham.— Bow- street, October 27. LARCEIY AND EB8EBEZZLEMEMT. Description of ROBERT KENT, charged with larceny as a bailee at Middlesborough, on the 27th July last ( Pro- perty recovered) : about 33 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, full face, brown hair, very little whiskers, and slight moustache ; dressed in blue pilot coat, yellow cord trousers, aud soft black billycock hat. He is a native of Middleton, near Manchester, where he was a dealer iu rags aud bones, and left in March last. He was seen at Bea. lle Market, about the 19th ultimo, with an ' Aunt Sally,' aud was accompanied by another man. He will probably be found at some fair or hiiing. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Middlesborough, Ycrks.— Bow- street, November 5. Stolen on the 23rd ultimo, from a cottage at Littleton- on- Severn, Gloucestershire : an old dark cloth Jacket, two hip pockets, black bone buttons ; a pair of old light cloth Trousers, fly fronts, brass buttons ; a white slop Jacket; and a pair of elastic- side Boots, the property of Thomas Williams. By a man who was lodging in the house, a labourer, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, dark brown hair and moustache, thin face ; dressed probably in the stolen clothes, as he left au old pair of trousers and a pail- of shoes behind ; he had a concertina, and plays in public or beer- houses ; he is supposed to be well known in Bristol and Wilts. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Ellison, Chipping Sod- bury, Gloucesteisliire.— Bow- street, November 3. Description of JOHN PLANT, a chemist's assistant, charged with stealing £ 15, from his employers at Darlaston, on the 19th ultimo : 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slender build, dark hair, little whiskers, s> ud has a burn mark from the right ear to the chin; dressed in black round jacket, melton topcoat, with velvet collar, aud silk hat. He lias lived at a chemist's at Aslington, and other parts of Yorkshire, and is a native of Hull. Information to be given to Superintendent Holland, Wednesbury, or to Sergeant Breton, Darlaston, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 3. Stolen between 10- 20 p. m. and midnight on the 31st ult., from a public- house, in Preston : £ LOO, iu Sovereigns and Half - sovereigns ; and a £ L0 Bank of England Note. By a recruit, who billitted there for the nifilit : he gave the name of JOHN BURNS, and stated that lie belonged to Bolton, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 6J inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, and grey eyes ; dressed in a black cloth coat, dirty ribbed fustiau trousers, cord vest, black billycock hat, low lace- up shoes, and said he was a platelayer. £ 5 reward will be given to any person who will give 6uch information as will lead to his apprehension, on application to Head Police Office, Preston.— Bow- i THOMAS TREDREA, a clerk, about 17 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, fresh complexion, slight built, aud dark brown hair ; respectably dressed.
