A warrant'has been'issued for the ' apprehension of EMILY RICHARDS, of Carnon Downs, in the pariah of Kenwyn, Cornwall, for the wilful murder of a child 1 month old, by throwing it down a shaft. At the inquest a verdict if Wilful Murder was returned. She is the wife of Thomas Richards, who has been abroad some years, and is 29 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair, and has false upper and lower front teeth ; dressed in black hat with black fall, and dark sealskin jacket; is sup- posed to be iu Loudon, aud will probably try to emigrate, /• epresenting herself to be a widow. Information lo be given zo Superintendent Marshall, Truro, Cornwall.— Bow- street, January 6. About I p. m. on the 30th ultimo, the dead body of a full grown female child, was found in the vault of a privy, at Colne, Huntingdon, wrapped in a portion of the Peterboro' Advertiser. At the inquest, a verdict of ' Wilful Murder' was returned against some person or persons unknown. Information to be given to Superiutendent Spencer, Police Station, St. Ives, Hunts.— Bow- street, January 4. About noon ou the 21st instant the dead body of a full- grown female Child wa3 found in a dike in Peterborough wrapped in new unbleached calico, black wadding and brown paper, a piece of black braid was lound tied tightly round the child's neck. At the inquest a verdict was returned of Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown. Information to be given to the Head Constable, Police Station, Peterborough, Northamptonshire.— Bow- st., Jan. 1. BURGLARY AND HSUSE BREAE1KG-. Deseription of CHARLES WOOD, alias WINTER- BOTTOM, charged with breaking into a shop, in Sheffield, on the ' night of the 30th ultimo : he is about 37 years of age. 5 feet 6i inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, has a large mark on Hp, is pockpitted, a weaver, and a native of Glossop or Manchester. He was appreheuded on the 5th of January, 1869, at the Glossop Station, for house- breaking at Blackburn, near Rotherham, and convicted and sentenced to 18 months hard labour at the following West Riding Spring Assizes. He is supposed to be accompanied by a woman who was convicted at Sheffield Sessions, 9th April, 1866, for being in possession of counterfeit coin, and was sentenced to 5 years penal servitude .: she is 26 years of age, 5 feet lj inch high, fresh complexion, auburn hair, light grey eyes, short broad, face, small sunken eyes, and thick lips. ' Information to be given to Chief Constable Jackson, Sheffield, Yorkshire.— Bm- street, January 6. Stolen by means of housebreaking betweea the 23rd ult., and lst instaut, at Hollington, near Hastings : two Blankets; a cotton Sheet: four chamber Towels; a white jean Yest; two white marcella children's Jackets, old; an alpaca Polannaise, trimmed" with black silk velvet ; a grey Llama Skirt, trimmed with blue braid; a lavender muslin Skirt, old; an old black silk Jacket; two children's old cotton Frocks; four children's Petticoats, old! a brown silk Umbrella, with ivory handle ; a pair of man's old side- spring Boots ; a pair of woman's Goloshes; a copper Kettle, without lid ; and a linen travelling Bag. By a man who pledged some of the stolen property at Hastings, On the 30th ultimo : about 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, stout, a labourer; dressed in a dark jacket, with white slop under- neath, and a dark cap. Information to be given at the Constabulary Office, Lewes, to Superintendent Jenner, Police Station, Court House, Battle, or any Police Station in East Sussex.— Bow- street, January 4. During the night of the 22nd instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Carrills, Wollaton, near Nottingham, was broken and entered by two men, and ^ t is believed that one or both of them was wounded wnile making their escape through the window by shots from a revolver : one is a stout man. Stolen from the person on the 24th ultimo : a silver: Also stolen, on the night of the 25th ultimo, from a field Geneva Watch, chased flowered back, very small, No. 727. Norcop, Esq., of Betton House, Market Drayton, on the 1st instant: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, brown hair, fair complexion, no beard or whiskers ; dressed m dark ooat, light- coloured trousers, white tie, and low hard hat; he is a native of Stone, Staffordshire, and a tailor, but has lately been employed as celiarman at an hotel at Stoke- upon- Trent, and as footman at Betton House. Stolen in Bolton : On the lst instant, from the person of a gentleman : a siiver lever Watch, No. 36073, maker Samuel Greenhough, ilolton, had attached a gold curb Chain, with Seal and Key. Also from the person on the lst instant: a silver verge Watch, No. 227, maker Thomas Lee, Bury, and has ' J. Harrison' engraved inside the case. Also from the person of a gentleman on the 2nd instant: a silver lever Watch, with cream- coloured dial, on which is che name ' J. Smith,' No. 16685. Also stolen ou the 31st ultimo, from a public- house in Bolton : a dark green cloth Overcoat, with black velvet collar, has four pockets outside with flaps over them, black Covered buttons, and lined with black serge. By a female servant, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout made, fresh complexion, red nose, and addicted to drink; usually dressed in dark grey winsey dress, black bonnet, and dark grey cloak. She is also charged Stolen on the 30th ultimo, from Chigwell Row : a, bay Mare, a set of Harness, a. Cart, a Coat, a Rug, and a Whip, — Metropolitan Police, N Division, January 4. Further information respecting the three Hereford Heifers, stolen from Morehampton Park, as advertised in the Police Gazette of the 16th instant: they were missed on the 1st instant, and not on the 11th instant, as before stated. Any person giving such information that will lead to their recovery, and conviction of the. offender or offenders, will be handsomly rewarded.
