DUBLIN, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 1874. SCOTTISH POLICE. WANTED, in Edinburgh, on a charge of fraud — David Ross, a butler, a native of Ross- shire, 31 yeais of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, oval face, pale complexion, black hair and whiskers, long nose, thin cheeks, good teeth, large mouth, hazel eyes, dark eyebrows: dressed, when last seen here, on 80th September last, in a black walking- coat mounted with braid, black vest and trowsers, and black silk hat; he is of smart appearance; was liberated from General Prison, Perth, on 17th August last; was seen on 27th ult. in Sutherlandshire, and had then about £ 20 in his possession, and it is thought that he may endeavour to go abroad. Police officers and others are requested to make p. rticular search for and apprehend the above- described person, and if any trace of him is obtained, t > communicate with Mr. R. B. Johnston, Procurator- Fiscal, JCity Chambers, Edinburgh, or with the Superintendent of Police, Edinburgh. Edinburgh, November 2, 1874. WANTID, in Edinburgh, on a charge of theft or reset of theft— James M'Kenzie, stationer and book- binder, and formerly and for a number of years bill- runner to the Union Bank, Edinburgh ; a native of Edinburgh, about 70 years of age, about 6 feet 11 inches high, ordinary make, fresh complexion, bald, but wears small sandy or golden- coloured wig, full whiskers and beard of similar colour, turning grav, no mous'achc, heavy mouth, stoops when walking, respectable appearance; dressed in a black suit with surtout, generally holds left lapel with his light hand, tall black hat. Police officers and others are requested to make particular search for and apprehend the above- de- scribed person, and if any trace of him is obtained, to communicate with Mr. R. Bruce Johnston, Procurator- Fiscal, City Chambers, Edinburgh, or with the Superintendent of Police, Edinburgh. Edinburgh, November 4, 1874. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Healy, native of Ballyvorna, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 4th November, 1874, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Kilnaglory, stolen 3 ewes and a ram, the property of Michael Keating, from off his lands at Ballingillig, and sold them to Cornelius M'Carthy, of Bossmore, but when asked for reference he de- camped from the cattle market, city of Cork, where the sale took place:— Dark eyes, regular nose, small chin, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, 40 years of age, black ba'r ; wore a low soft jerry hat, dark overcoat, Wellington boots. William Kelly ( serious assault) not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 14th February, 1873. Sligo. DUBLIN CASTLE, 8rd November, 1874. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, at the hour of ten o'clock, on the night of the 17th ultimo, three men, named respectively James Weaver, Luke Weaver and Thomas Connolly, were waylaid and assaulted in Pound- street, in the town of Sligo, and Luke Weaver was seriously injured: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same. By His Grace's Command, M. E. HICKS BEACH. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by T. W. French, esq., the Resident Magistrate at Sligo, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. The special attention of the Constabulary is directed to the following descriptions, and Pawn- offices should be searched for the stolen articles referred to: DESCRIPTION of John M'Daid alias Dignan, supposed to be a native of county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 28rd ultimo, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Calry, burglariously entered the house of and murdered Edward Ferguson, and stolen therefrom the following articles, as de- scribed, which he maybe wearing:— Mark of a firing iron on left hip, received in hospital for disease, 6 inches long across the hip in scores, earning a slight halt when walking; a military bearing; hangs down his head when speaking ; a dangerous scowl on countenance, and desperate- looking; square shoulders, long thin fingers ; draws his under lip into his mouth between his teeth ; piercing dark hazel eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, ill- looking face, sore feet, stout make, 5 feet 9J inches high, about 82 years of age, reddish fair curly hair; wore a moustache and whiskers, which he may cut off; wore a fustian jacket like a painter's, dark tweed trowsers, dark vest; bare- footed; speaks with a slight English accent; was a tramp in Sligo Workhouse; said he came from Glasgow, where he had been working in a shipyard, served in the army, 65th Regiment; had sun- stroke in India. Workhouses should be looked after.
