Stolen from two gentlemen on the 17th instant, at Massington, Ledbury, Herefordshire Baces : A diamond Pin, antique setting claw, with small gold Chain attached to a second pin. £ 3 reward will be paid on the apprehension of the offender or offenders and recovery of the Pin. A gold Watch, dial and seconds hand, No. 187, maker Manning, Worcester, ' J. Davis, Malvern Wells,' engraved inside, and ' J. D.' on outside case. £ 2 reward will be paid on the apprehension of the offender or offenders and recovery of the Watch. Stolen from the person of a gentleman on the 10th inst., while on Packington Race Course: a patent silver lever Watch, jewelled in 10 holes, name on Watch—' W. T. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING, Description of three men, charged on warrants with wounding Police Constable Charles Elliott, at Dunchurch, on the night of the 7th instant: CHARLES EMERY, 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, red curly hair, tuft on chin* thick set, wears small ear- rings ; dressed in white navvy slop, fustian trousers, and fur cap ; is a native of Muggerhanger, a member of the Huntingdon- J shire Militia, a labourer, and has worked at brickyards. JOSEPH SHAW, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches j high, dark brown hair and whiskers, prominent teeth in upper jaw ; dressed iu round corduroy jacket, brown slop,: corduroy trousers, and lace up boots; an agricultural labourer. HENRY WILSON, 20 years of age, 5 feet C or 7 inches high, dark brown hair, and tuft on chiu ; dressed in round brown cloth jacket, corduroy trousers aud vest, and dark cloth cap, and of slovenly appearance; an agricultural labourer. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Jervis, Rugby, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, April 22. INFORMATIONS. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. On the'night of the 19th instant, St. Peter's School, Clifton, was broken and entered and stolen therein : three cloth top Coats, one dark blue, with blue lining, black buttons inside of seams, two pockets outside, and one left breast, to fit a youth 15 years of age ; another a dark brown with velvet collar, buttons and pockets same as one above, to tit a youth 12 years of age ; and the other a dark blue with long laps, two outside pockets, and one inside left breast, to fit a youth 1C years of age. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Hunter, North Riding Constabulary Office, Heworth, York.— Bow- street, April 24. On the night of the 18th instant, the dwelling house of Captain Biddle, of Long Ham, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a small silver Knife; two silver antique Forks ; a silver dessert Spoon, marked ' B.;' a plated marrow Spoon ; a plated Cruet Stand ; a silver Coin, of the reign of Queen Anne ; two gold Rings, one horse- shoe pattern, the other a cornelian; a pair of lace- up Boots, which have just been repaired ; and ill 5s. from a cash box. Supposed by two dirty looking tramps, between 30 and 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high ; dressed in dark clothes. Stolen from a stable at 1 Lanham Court Farm, in the parish ef Bitton, Gloucestershire, on the night of the 18th instant : a black cart Mare-, 16 hands high, 8 years old, long flowing mane and tail, very light eolonr round the mouth and round both eyes, and white star on the forehead also a set of Trace Harness, the property of Mrs. Hester Selman. £ 10 reward will be paid to whoever will give such informa- tion as shall lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders,, aud recovery of the mare. Description of a man who is charged on a warrant with stealing a Ponv and Cart ; » t Newcastle- upon- Tyne, on the 14th instant: F. FARLEY ( supposed FRANCIS), about 40 years of age, 5 feet 1 IT 5 inches high, slender person, light brown bair, small light whiskers round chin, rather long features ; dressed in a light drab coat and vsst, with trousers of darker materia), dark cap, and strong laced boots, is a clogger, and had a small shop in North- street, Jatr~ w. The pony was a white mare, aged, 13^ hands high, long rail, and large scars on knees, in good condition; the Harness is old and shabby; and the Cart is a shallow greengrocer's, blue body, red wheels, ' F. Farley, Jarrow,' painted in white letters on the front. Information to be given W the Chief Constable, Newcastle- on- Tyne, Northumberland.— Bow- street-,. April 20 to any person who will give such information aim evidence as shall lead to the apprehension aud conviction of the murderer or murderers ; and the Secretary of State for the Home Depart- ment will advise the giant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually com- mitted the murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. On the morning of the 12th instant the dead body of a female Child, quite naked, was found in a field at Kuowle, about 2 years old, light brown hair, grey eyes, the little toe of the left foot was diseased on the top. The body was wrapped in a piece of drapers' wrapping. At an inquest held ou the 15th instant the medical evidence showed that the Child died from starvation. Information to be given to the Police at Knowle, near Bristol, Somerset.— Bow- street, April 20. On the morning of the 5th instant, the dead body of a new- born male child was found iu the yard of an un- occupied house in West- street, in the parish of Melcombe Begis. At an adjnrned inquest held on the 13th instant, a verdict of ' Wilful Murder' was returned against some person or persons unknown. £ 5 reward will be given to any person who will give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons who placed the body where found, and a further reward of £ 5 will be paid to any person or persons who will give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction © f the mother of the said • child. Description of a man chargad with burglary at Wey- mouth on the night of the 14th instant, and stealing about 4s. in Coppers, some Jersej- and Guernsey Money, 1 Chisel, and 2 Files, 11 inches long and | inch wide : he is about 30 or 34 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slight build, fresh complexion, no whiskers, small moustache, and dark hair aud eyes; dressed in old black overcoat, vest, aud trousers, soft felt hat, which he wears over his eyes, and side- sping boots ; has the appearauce of a ticket- of- leave man : was seen at Abbotsbury at 8 a. m. on the loth inst., where he spent some of the money ; he is a tramp. On the morning of the 14tli instant, the Clock Face publichouse, situate in Lord- street, iu the borough of Roch- dale, was burglariously entered, and the following Articles stolen therein : a lady's black velvet Jacket, small size, tight- fitting, lined with black, aud trimmed with corded silk; a grey and white plaid woollen Shirt; aud a box of good Cigars. Stolen from three gentlemen on the 21st instant, while on Lichfield racecourse : a large- size open face repeater gold Watch, ornamental face, maker's name inside, with a gold Chaiu attached, link and ring pattern. £ 10 reward will be paid on the apprehension of the offender and recovery of the watch ; a silver patent lever Watch, with a Bilver Chain attached;. and a silver patent lever Watch, with sunk seconds, raakei S. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING Stolen from a field at Bentley, near Walsall, a light chestnut Horse, aged, 15£ hands high, short bang tail, lame iu the near fore leg, white stripe down forehead, and short mane. Stolen at Egham on the 7th instant, a grey Pony ( recovered), the property of Mary Ann Godfrey^ by GEO. RUTLAND, 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 cr 9 iuches high, brown hair, long thin features, aud tattooed ou both wrists ; dressed in a white slop, brown cloth vsst, aud cord trousers ; lias been in the navy. Supposed to have gone to Liverpool, on his way to America, Information to be given to Superinten LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded on the 17th instant, from Millman- street,. Guildford- street, charged with embezzling ,£ 10: a woman, 50 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, fail complexion and hair,. turning grey ; dressed iu light cotton print dress, plaid shawl, and black bonnet.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, April 34. Description of ALFD. BROWNING, a baker, charged on a warrant with embezzlement: about 35 years of age, about 5 feet 8 or 9 iuches high, light complexion, light browa hair, a few whiskers on chin inclined to be saudy, chin pro- jects, upper lip falls in as if from loss of toeth, long thin face, light grey eyes, thin build, splayfooted, and stoops when walking. Has had a business at No. 7, Longnor- road, Mile- end- road, London ; he also lived at Bancroft- road, Mile- end- road, London, and probably may be in that neighbourhood, or he may try to get to Ameriea. £ 1 reward will be paid for his apprehension. Stolen from the Swan pnblic- house, Stony Stratford, on the morning of the 17th instant : a pair of bhtcher Boots, four holes iu front, brass ey ilets, some of which are missing, soles and heels nailed. By a tramping moulder, about 27 yrs. of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 iuches high, long thin face, high cheek bones, pale complexion, Kght brown hair, no whiskers or moustache, anu of military appearance; dressed in a darLc jacket, pockets at sides, dirty fustian trousers, no collar to shirt, cloth cap without peak, and plaid band round it, and wearing the stolen boots; he has been traced to Little Brickhiil, and is supposed to have there left the main read, for London, and crossed the country. Absconded from Egham on the 6th instant, cbargad on. a warrant with embezzlement : HENRY OVER, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 iuches high, dark complexion, and slight uio& staehe ; has been in the army. Information to be given to Superintendent Bungard, Surrey Constabulary, Chertsey, or to Inspector Gray, Egham.— Bow- street, April- 22 Absconded from Builth, Breconshire, on the 15ti instant, charged with embezzlement: WILLIAM DAVIES LEWIS, Relieving Officer at Builth ; he is about 30 year3 of age, about 5 feet iuches high, very stout, especially about the chest and shoulders, black hair and eyebrows, bair parted in centre, dark eyes, large dark beard nearly black, aud has a. soar from a cut coming down iu front of one eai ; dressed in hard felt hat, blue ribbed cloth jacket and vest, single breasted and bound with black ; grey tweed trousers, and thin elastic- side boots, but has other clothes with him. Supposed to have about £ 120 in his possession at the time be absconded. Wears a gold Albert, no appendages.
