Between 11 a. m. and 5 p. m. on the 26tli instant, the dwelling- house of John Breeze, of Meole, near Shrewsbury, was entered, and a silver Watch, No. 9862, stolen therein. Supposed by a tramp. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Caswell, County Constabulary, Shrewsbury.— Bow- ' street, December 28. a INFORMATIONS. 9ft) C ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person of a gentleman at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Station at Bury, about 8" 45 p. m. on the 31st ultimo : a double cased gold lever Watch, the bow attached to the watnh Guard - was wrenched off. By a man about 28 years of age, about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, light hair, pale complexion, rather thin features ; dressed in a grey overcoat and a grey billycock hat. He was accompanied by a woman about 26 years of age, of middle size, and wearing a red plaid shawl; the same man was seen at the Railway Station, Bolton, and when spoken to, ran away. £ 2 reward will be paid for the apprehension and conviction of the offender and recovery of the watch. Information to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Bolton, or to Superintendent Milne, Bury. — Bow- street, January 9. Stolen on the morning of the 31st ultimo, from the person of a gentleman, in a railway train between Crewe and Chester, a silver lever Watch, gold joints and balance, coloured dial, jewelled in 4 pairs extra, maker Thos. Hambleton, Birken- head, No. 11597 ; a gold albert Chain, square thick link, with a small diamond shaded ornament on each link, marked ' 9 carat;' and a small gold locomotive Engine, with four wheels ; a gold Locket, chased on each side, and steel Key. A reward of 3 Guineas will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to the recovery of the above property and conviction of the offender or offenders, or in proportion to the amount recovered. Stolen from a field at Bosom's End, Smethwick, near Birmingham, during the night of the 22nd ultimo, a dappled trey mare Pony, 12 hands high, about !) years old ; and a ark brown Colt, 6 months old, white fetiocks, white star on forehead. Information to be given to Inspector Ordish, Police Office, Smethwick, near Birmingham.— Bow- street, January ji. Stolen on the 5t'h ultimo, from a field at Mumbles, near Swansea, a dark brown mare Pony, 5 years old, 13Jt hands high, has a small white saddle mark, switch tail, and starky mane, the property of David Eley. Information to be given to Superintendent Howlett, Constabulary Office, Neath, Glamorganshire.— Bow- street.; Janvxiry 4. Stolen on the 22nd instant, from the Hundred Court House, Norton, near Shiffnal, a black and - white plaid Shawl, large size. Information to be given to Sergeant Cex, County Constabulary Office, Shiffnal.— Bow- street, December 28. The Mare stolen from a field at Ore, during the night of 28th September last, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 30th September last, has been recovered, and the following is a description of a man charged with stealing the same : from 40 to 45 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, rather dark complexion, long thin face, dark brown hair, brown whiskers meeting under chin, slight figure, and has the appearance of a low horse dealer ; dressed in a dark round- crowned hat, dark cloth coat, and tight fitting cord trousers. Information to be given to Superintendent Jeffery, Guestling, Hastings, or at any Police Station 111 East Sasaex.—^ Bow- street, December 28. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Stolen from the Royal ExChange Inn, Stone, on the 31st ultimo : a pair of Trousers anil a Waistcoat, since found pledged at Stafford, by a man who slept in the house the night before, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches higji, dark com- plexion, dark hair, little or no whiskers, very much pock- marked, has lost one eye , dressed in a top hat, dark cloth coat, brown cloth trowK"--*, w ith dark stripe down the side, and old shabby boots. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Crisp, Stone, Staffordshire, — Bow- street, January 9: Absconded from Sundridge, on the 30th ultimo, charged with embezzling various sums of money belonging to Mark William Kingsland, his master : WILLIAM HEFFER, a miller and baker, about 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, fair complexion, bald head, whiskers meeting under the chin, . scar under left eye; dressed in light. worsted cord troasers, light mixture coat, black oilskin overcoat, high crowned liat, and lace- np boots; has relatives residing at age, tall and thin made, light complexion and hair, peculiar expression of the eyes, and prominent nose ; dressed in light winsey dress, plaid skirt, flounced at the bottom, long grey cloak, kid boots, and straw bonnet, with red and white flowers, all quite new. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Glossop, Police Office, Detective Department, Birmingham, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, January 9. Stolon from a lodging- house in Ellesmere, on the 6th inst., a pair of men's lace- up Boots, have been soled, brass eyelet- holes, nails out of left heel, right heel mended lately : by a tramp ( who left his own behind him), 36 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, round fat face, dark hair, and speaks slowly ; dressed in tweed jacket, cord trousers, and jimcrow hat ; has been in tire Shrewsbury Militia. Information to be given to Superintendent Gough, Oswestry, to to Sergeant Duncan, Ellesmere, Salop.— Bow- street, January 9. Absconded, charged with'stealing since the 24tli ultimo, from 1, Boston Park- road, Old Brentford : nine boy's linen Shirts ; a flannel ditto ; four pairs of cotton Drawers ; a boy's blue pilot Overcoat ; an Oxford mixture Vest; a light tweed ditto ; two pairs of light tweed Trousers ; and a brown rip Skirt : a servant, 45 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and eyes ; dressed in black, brown shawl, and bonnet.— Metropolitan Police, T Division, January 9. Stolen on the 4th instant, from the dwelling- house of Mrs. Maria Seward, Crown Inn, in the parish of Llandogo, Monmouthshire, £ b in Silver. By a* man who slept in the house three nights prior to the robbery : about 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, rather stout build, rather dark complexion, dark hair and whiskers turning grey, and recently cropped on side of face ; dressed in dark grey jacket, vest, and trousers, black billycock or bowler hat, and old elastic- side boots ; isa baker, and states he has kept a large business of his own in London and Herefordshire, and is a native of Kent. Absconded on the ,£ 8th ultimo, from No. 104, Page's- walk, Bermondsey, charged with stealing £: 1 17s.: a lodger, 50 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion and hair ; dressed in dark reefing jacket, light cord trousers, and round felt hat.— Metropolitan Police, M Division, January 6. Absconded on the 29th ultimo, from the Berks Lunatic Asylum ( charged with stealing £ 5 in Gold, the property of Mr. Edwin Stott, the secretary), the hall porter, about 30 yrs. of age, 5 feet 7j inches high, sallow complexion, brown eyes, dark hair, no whiskers, slight dark moustache, proportionate make, and dressed in a brown overcoat, new dark suit of clothes, and billycock hat. Supposed to have gone to London, having an acquaintance at Fenchurch- street Station. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Johnson, Wallingford, Berks.— Bow- street, January 6. Stolen from an officer of the Royal Marines at Ports- mouth : a light suit of Clothes ; a dark ditto ; a dress Coat ; a Vest; a pair of Boots ; a velvet Coat ; a velvet Vest ; a Shako ; a pair of light Trousers ; two Pipes ; some Neckties; a brown great Coat; some Linen, Flannel, & c.; a pair of silver Buckles for braces ; three cat's eye Studs, set in silver ; a gold Ring, sapphire ; a gold pencil Case, marked ' Ed. E. Emanuel, 101, High- street, Portsmouth ;' a gold neck- tie Clasp, with diamond set in blue enamel ; a gold split Ring ; a gold five franc Piece, with a hole in it; several silver foreign Coins ; BURGLARY AND HOUSe BREAKING. Between 11 a. m. and 1 p. m. on the 1st instant, the par- sonage at Broughton, was broken and entered, and three silver Tea Caddies, and a silver Caddy Spoon, stolen therein : Supposed by two tramps, about 20 years of age, one about 5 feet 5 inches high ; dressed in black cloth cap, short black cloth jacket, and old patent leather leggings. The other a little shorter ; dressed in an old grey topcoat, which was much too big for him. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Thomas, Police Station, Mold, Flintshire— Bow- street, January 4. Between 1 and 2 on the morning of the 25th ultimo, the house of Isaac Delahoy, toll gate keeper, of the parish of Rushmere, was entered by two men, supposed from 30 to 40 years of age, one about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high ; dressed in dark clothes, and billycock hat, and mask on face ; the other a little taller, dressed in dark clothes, and billycock hat, smaL whiskers ; they stole about £ 9 in Money. Information to be given to P. C. Chase, Tuddenham, Ipswich.— Bow- street, January 2. Between 10 p. m. and 3 a. m. on the 27th ultimo, the dwelling- house of Mr. Thomas Edginton, of Play Hatch, near Reading, wras entered by breaking a pane of glass in the dining room window, and lifting up the sash, and stolen therein, .£ 12 12s. in Gold and Silver, and two small silver Tea Spoons, fiddle pattern, not marked. Stolen between 11 a. m. and 8 p. m. on the 25th instant, from the dwelling- house of Mr. Alfred Churley, Westminster- road, Handsworth, by housebreaking: a black silk velvet Mantle, satin trimmings ; twelve silver Tea Spoons, marked ' A. C.;' a pair of silver Sugar Tongs, marked ' A. Wallis, at Birmingham, and stealing therein .£ 40, her monies : she is abr ut: 25 years of two gold Japanese Coins; many old Copper ditto; a £ 5 Note, No. not given ; several odd gold Studs ; and a silver ditto. By an absentee from the Royal Marines, 20 years of age, 5 feet 0- j inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes ; dressed in brown overcoat, velvet collar, drab trousers, and felt hat; a native of Islington.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, January 6. A warrant has been issued for the apprehension of JOSEPH COULTON, traveller and clerk, who absconded on the 28th ultimo, charged with stealing £ 104, the monies of his master Mr. Harrison Love, spirit merchant and brewer, of Wolsingham, Durham : he is supposed to have not less than ,£ 200 in his possession, he is 34 years of age, but looks older, about 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair and whiskers, round chin, proportionate figure, very flat footed, turns out his toes ; dressed in grey cloth tweed coat and vest, cord trousers, and soft black billycock hat. Description of JOHN PHILLIP GAHAGAN, steward's clerk, who absconded from his situation at the Earlswood Asylum, Redhill, on the 7th instant, charged with stealing about J10, themonies of Mr. John Brown, the steward : he is 26 years of agev5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, light moustache, stout made, walks erect ; dressed in black frock coat and trousers, side- spring boots, and black silk hat. Description of a man for whom a warrant is issued on a charge of stealing Poultry at Newton- Toney and North Ted- worth, Wilts, on The night of the 13th instant, also stealing a- pair of short black leather Leggings, and a pair of elastic- side Boots on the night of 16th instant, from North Tedworth, which ire was - seen wearing mi the 17th : he is about 6 feet 6 inches high, 24 years of age, full face, no whiskers, dark hair, and dressed in an old cord jacket, old slop, elastic- side boats, and black leggings : he had a basket with him, and, upwards of a hundred wires for taking game, when he was seen on the borders of Hants, Wilts, and Berks. Was last seen at Inkpen, Berks, on the 26th, at a beer- house where he sold the elastic- side boots, which have been recovered, the basket containing the wires has also been recovered, the black leather leggings are still missing, which he is supposed to be wearing " Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Stretten, Marlborough, Wilts.-- Bow street, . Description of JOHN BENNETT, a returned convict, charged with stealing on the 22nd instant, at Alveley, a dark tweed Jacket, ' and a pair of Wellington Boots, the property of William Lane he is 40 years of age, 5 feet It inch high, fresh complexion, dark browh hair, sandy whiskers.; dressed in dark cord trousers, flannel jacket, White jimcrow hat, and strong boats; he is well known to the Police at Dudley, Netherton, Brierley Hill, and Wolverhampton. Information to'be given to Superintendent Ivins, Bridgnorth. , December 28. Stolen from a lodging- house in Leith, on the 17th inst.; a large tartan Shawl, with ' a good deal of red in it; two print cOtton Dresses, which are fastened in front with hooks and eyes : a white flannel Petticoat; a black and magenta striped Petticoat; and various other Articles, which have been found. By a woman, about 40 years ^ of age, tall and stout, small mark of cut or burn under right ear, fingers Swollen at joints, is affected with rheumatism, speaks with the Scotch accent; said her name was Mrs. McGREGOR, and that she belonged to Perth. Information to be given ' to Superintendent Grant, Police Station, Leith.— December 28. A warrant has been issued by the Maldon Borough Justices against JAMES LUKE WISEMAN BENTALL, charged with embezzling monies of his master George Gepp Ward, Esq., miller, Maldon, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 12th instant,. £ 2 reward will be given to any person . giving such information as shall lead to his apprehen- sion and conviction, in addition to any reward which may be allowed by the Maldon Association for prosecuting felons. Information to be given to Head Constable King, Maldon, Essex, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.—- Bow- street, ' December 28. Stolen on the 26th instant, from the house of John Curtis, Millbrook- rOad, Freemantle, the following property : five £ 5 Notes of Maddison, Pearce, and Co., Bankers, Southampton ; £ 10 in Gold ; a silver lever Watch, double case, marked ' J. C. ;' a pair of gold Maltese Earrings ; a quantity of gold Rings, some marked ' J. J. C. a gold Albert Chain, a Wl/ s long gold Chain, several gold Lockets, some " with portraits and some with hair in them ; and a small gold Maltese Cross. By two men : one is about 5 feet 6 inches ' high, rather stout, long white beard down to his breast ( sup- posed to be false), and wore a black round crowned hat and . shabby dark clothes ; the other is about 21 years of age, about u feet 11 inches high, small whiskers, and wore a black round crowned hat, blue reefer jacket, red muffler round his neck, and trousers with black stripe down the side. Missing from his home at Manea, in the Isle of Ely, on the 4th ultimo, ahd as not been heard of since, and it is feared some ill has befallen him LEONARD IBBETT, son of Joseph Ibbett. watchmaker, Hi years of age short and rather stout, fair complexion, rather full face, and nose flat between the eyes, grey eyes, and light brown hair ; dressed in new double- breasted pilot black cloth coat, black corded sleeve vest, mixed grey cloth trousers, black cloth cap with peak with his name in full inside has a relative residing near Manchester, Information. to be ' given to Inspector Mitchell, Chatteris.— Bow street January Description of a tramp in custody at Mold charged with" larceny and remanded till the instant. JOHN WINROW tailor. 22 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, light complexion, light brown hair the thumb and first finger of left hand, and is ruptured ; dreSsed in black , cloth cap with French peak, and old black cloth jacket, veSt, ' and trouSerS ; States that he is a native of Memphis, Tenessee, and that he has been in England for the last five years. ComMitted to Northallerton Gaol on the 7th instant, for tWenty- one days for larceny, a tramp, giving the name of WILLIAM BROWN, 28 years of age. 5 feet 6 inches high, hazel eyes, light brown hair cut short, whiskers shaved, mole on back, and two on back of neck ; states that he is a native of Dereham, Norfolk, and a labourer at ironworks ; dressed in blue pilot coat, cotton cord vest, fustian trousers, blue, worsted cap, and Lancashire clogs. Description of it woman and two men, committed for trial at quarter sessions, on the 2ud instant, for larceny from the person : MARY ROBBINS, alias MARGARET ROBIN- SON, alias MARY SHOTTIN, alias MARY HARRIS, 69 years of age, 5 feet 0| inch high, swarthy complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, oval visage, pockmarked, cuts over eyebrow,. And a native of Ireland ; CHARLES JONES, 34 years of age, 5 feet ' 4 inches high; sallow complexion, brown haw, dark eyes, oval visAge, cut On nose, says he is a hawker, a native of Birmingham ; JOSEPH WALTERS, 39 years of age, looks to be about 27, sallow complexion, light brown hair, grey eyes, thin visage, proportionate make, pockmarked. They attend fairs and markets, it is supposed they have been previously convicted, and wanted for offences elsewhere.
