A reward of £ 100 will be paid by the Police, and a further reward of £ 100 will be paid by Her Majesty's Government, to any person who will give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murderer or murderers, and Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Home Department will advise the grant of Her Majesty's Gracious Pardon to any accomplice, not beiug the person who actually committed the niuvder, who shall give such evidence as wil1 lead to a like result. JOHN JONES, alias SHON POBMAN, charged with stabbing and maliciously wounding Hugh Hughes, of the parish of Llangaffo, county of Anglesey, on the night, of t lie 11th instant; has been a sailor or marine on hoard H. MS., Hastings ; is a native of Cwanystwith ( not far from Pontrhy- digroes), Cardiganshire, and had an u icle living at Strata- whiskeis, and stubs on his face as if not shaven for some days. The servant fired a pistol at the time, and she thinks hit him on the left hand, or on the left, side. During the night of the 17th instant, the dwelling- house of Mrs. Sophia Yalden, of Eversley, was burglariously entered, and the following articles s Man therein: two silver table Spoons ; a pair of bilver sugar Tongs, marked ' T. Y.,' a brown silk Umbrella ; a small gold Brooch, with plaited hair inside ; a large black and white plaid Shawl ; a black Feather ; and an old pinchheck Watch. Description of WILLIAM COOPER, charged with forging a B. 11 of Exchange tor £ 98 10a : he is 44 years of age 5 feet 9J inches high, brown hair, blue eyes, large brown whiskers, fresh complexion, full round features, rather full eyes, proportionate build, good appearance ; dressed in dark mixture trousers, and shooting coat, black vest, and silk hat a cloth manufacturer, last residence Guiseley, near Leeds Infor mation to be given to Chief Constable Grauhan, Bradford who 1 olds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- sireet Dec 17 wart under right eye, and his two middle fingers of right haud contracted ; he is dressed in an old black coat and vest, white corduroy breeches, high boots, and hard round hat ; ho is a stableman and horse clipper, aud states he is a native of Penrith, Cumberland, and that he has worked in London and Kent; he first obtained the horse under the pretence of clipping it, then absconded, and sold it; it is strongly sus- pected that he is wanted for offences elsewhere, at d that he has beeu previously convicted. Stolen from a stable in a close near St. Ives, Huufs, between 6 and 7 p. m. on the 15th instant, a valuable bay Horse, 6 years old, 15 bands 2 inches high, dark mane and tail, white spot On withers, caused by saddle, aud one white hind foot, mane and tail very long, and coat rough, when the horse was stoleu. Stolen on the 21st instant, from a bedroom in a dwelling- house at Churwell, in the West Riding of Yotk : £ 15 in Gold, By a man of the following description, who had been lodging in the house for a few weeks : about 23 vears of age, 6 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair and eyes, slender build, prominent Roman nose, and very long thin neck ; he gave the name of BROWN ( supposed to be fictitious), and stated that his parents reside ut Middlesborough, at which place he served his apprenticeship to a cartwright. It is suspected that he is a deserter from the Army or Militia. In- formation to be given to Superintendent Pollard, Leeds.— Bow street, December 24. Absconded on the 18th instant, from 27, New Montague- street, Spitalfields, stealing six drab Chesterfield Overcoats, lined with Italian cloth to match, drab velvet collars, four pockets in each coat: a tailor, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark complexion, black hair, long nose; dressed in a chocolate coloured coat, velvet collar, and spring hat.— Metro- politan Police, H Division, December 24. Description of a man charged with stealing a pair of Boots at Eye. on the 17th iustant, wbich have been recovered: about 29 years of age, 6 feet 8 inches high, supposed to be a miller or baker by trade, very dark hair, dark complexion, whiskers supp .- d slaved off; dressed in a light grey suit, low- crowned black hat, old elastic side boots, aud had no shirt on. Description of CHARLES BOWES, late rate collector, under the Middlesborough Corporation, who absconded ou the 18th instant, afte.- embezzling divers sums of Money the property of the Corporation : he is about 46 years of age, 6 ft. 10 inches high, fie- h complexion, hazel eyes, brown half, turning grey large whiskers and moustache, which he may shave off, mark from a boil at the end of his nose, stout built, short thick neck, aud a little round shouldered, a native of York, w. ere his father and brother resides ; he has served 15 years iu ihe Oth Lancers, from which he was discharged in 1853, after that !>' was a waiter at the Station hotel, York, and fr.. m 1854 to 1864 ! <• served in the Middlesborough Police Force, ami held tbe rank of Inspector; he is well known to most ot th Officers in the North, East, and West Riding Police Foices. Information to be giveu to Chief of Police Saggerson, Middlesborough, who holds . warrant, and will pay all costs on his arrest.— How- street December 11. A warrant has been issued against JAMES FOSTER, alias MICHAEL DOLAN, charged with having, on 15th inst., stolen the following articles from a pawnbroker in llull : 6oz, of gold wedding Rings; twenty- four gentlemen's gold signet Rings, with various coloured stones ; a gold Geneva Watch, No. 424 , n silver English lever Watch, Mo. 3687 ; two silver Tea Spoons, one marked ' T. H. Bubit'. 1851,' the other ' F. G. Rowehl ;' and some silver watch Guards. He is 19 years of age, 5 feet 10 incite^ high, dark brown hair cut short, grey eye>, turn up nose with wide nostrils, moles near the left ear, ou the right arm, and on the back of lett hand ; he is a native of Manchester, aud when last seen was dresBed in a blue pilot cloth coat, white linen jacket, black vest and trousers, and black stiff billycock hat. He has been in the Market Weighton Reformatory, from which place be had a licence ; he has been convicted for passing counterfeit coin at Manchester, and has been imprisoned in Knutsford Gaol for a similar offence. Stolen from a garden at Chesham, on the 17th instant: two Shirts one boy's calico, mended, one man's white with blue stripe. By a man of the following description, about 30 years of age, 6 feet 9 inches high, black whiskers ; dressed in a dark coat, with pockets at the side, light cord trousers, and black billycock hat, and of decent appearance ; he went begging at the place wbere they were stolen from. He has a wife and family, and is generally accom- panied by his son ; goes about to small shopkeepers obtaining goods by false pretences, and supposed to be the same man who has been convicted at Bolton- le Moore for a similar offence. Information to be given to Superintendent, Williams, Detective Department, Town Hall, Salford.— Bmk- street, December 24. Description of HY. SPENCER, charged with being con- cerned with a man in custody, obtaining £ 50 by fraud : he H t) 0years of age, o feet 7 in. high, pale complexion, small dark whiskers j dressed in black suit and hat with mourning band ; the onier man is 40 years of age, fresh complexion, hair and whiskers black ; dressed in dark brown tweed suit and black hat. A warrant, has been granted and is in the hands ot Superintendent Dunlop, Vine- street Police Station.— Metropo- litan Police, C Division, December 24. Description of a man charged with obtaining charitable contributions under false pretences, of several persons in the neighbourhood of Worthing, on the 16th and 17th instant: about 19 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, and has lost some front teeth ; dressed in light jacket and trousers, white apron, and billycock hat. He is accompanied by a man., about 29 years of age, about C feet high ; dressed in a light brown coat, corduroy trousers, and billycock hat ; carrying a rush basket, containing a few carpenter's Tools. He is going round with a petition, stating that he is the brother of a man named Hammond, who is alleged to have had his wheelwright's shop, & c., burnt down in November laBt, at Ashurst. near Steyning ; the petition is beaded by a subscription of £ 2 2s. in the name of the Rev. J. Hill, vicar of the parish ; the whole story is false. He is supposed to have gone to Portsmouth or South- ampton. Information to be given to Inspector Henderson, West Sussex Constabulary, Worthing, who will pay all reasonable expenses for his apprehension.— Bote- street, Decem- ber 24. Obtained on the 14th instant, from Mr. Perren, 28, Park- street, Camden Town : a three wheel Bath Chair, painted b ue, glass front, some ot the wheel spokes slightly bent. Description of JAMES PHILLIPS, an Irish drover, remanded to the County Gaol, Cambridge, for eight days : he is 47 years of age, 6 feet 9f inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, a little bald on top of head, grey eyes, mouth drawn down on right side, cross- eyed and slightly defective; has a dirty tramp- like appearance, aud is supposed to have been imprfconed in some adjoining counties. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Stretten, Chesterten- road, Cambridge. - How- street, December 24. A man of the following description is charged at Cam bridge, with stealing wearing Apparel, from the public- house at which he slept on the 22nd instant: he is 40 to 45 years of age, about 6 feet high, dark complexion, grey hair, stubby beard ; dressed in a black cloth coat, wiih blue guernsey under, dark cloth trousers, old boots broken at the side-, glengarry cap, called himself a shipwrecked sailor ; he pawned the stolen thiDgs in the name of LOADER. Information to be given to Head Constable Turrall, Borough Police Office, Cambridge.— Bow- street, Dectmber 24, L Description of a man and woman committed at the quarter sessions at Bridgnorth, on a charge of stealing a large quantity of Jewellery and Clothes from their lodgings : JOHN WILLIAMS, alias EDWARD JAMES, of Truro, a hawker of Earthenware, 23 years of a^ e, 5 feet 6 inches high, pale face, stout make, and very active ; he has lived in Derby and Stoke- upon- Trent ; dresses well, in brown clothes, and black jimcrow hat, turned up at sides. He pawned in Shrews- bury, a Watch, No. 16168, maker Shwerer, Truro, and a quantity of new Clothes. The woman gave the name of MARY WILLIAMS, and passed as t is wife, but her name is supposed to be MARY CHRISTIAN KENDALL, of Liskeard, Cornwall ; she is about 24 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 6 inches high, fair complexion, rather good- looking, and very respectably dressed. Information to be given to Head Constable Cole, Bridgnorth, Salop.— bow- street, December 24. Description of GEORGE CLARKE, who was convicted at the Petty Session , Bourn, on the 9th instant, upon two charges of Larceny at Osgodley, and sentenced to six weeks hard labour for each offence, in the House of Correction, Falkingham : 25 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, sallow Complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, and thin vis ge. a native of Bilston, Staffordshire, where he left about four months since and has since been working at Codney Park Canal. Derby- shire ; dressed iu dark brown velveteen coat, black cloth vest, white twill trousers, light- coloured billycock hat, lace up boots; had in his possession three pawnbroker's Duplicates : one for a slop, vest, & c., pledged at Frederick Pearson's, Boston, on the 7th September, 1869, in the name of Joseph Towell; the other for trousers and shirt, pledged at the same place and in the same name, on the 10th September, 1869 ; and the other for a coat pledged at James Atton's, Stamford, on the 10th November, 1869, in the name of Joseph Wright. Information to be given to Superintendent Pidgeon, County Police, Bourn, Lincolnshire.— how- street, December 24. Committed to the next quarter sessions at, Spalding, on a charge of felony: GEO. FITZJOHN, alias CAMBRIDGE, supposed to be a native of Royston, Cambridgeshire, 47 years of age, 6 feet 10 inches high, dark hair and whiskers, which are turning grey, long visage, bottom lip projects out, a good deal, and has a boil mark on left jaw. Information to be given to Superintendent Leaper. Spalding, or to Inspector Dauby, Holbeach, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, December 24. Description of a tramp who was, on the 21st instant, committed to Montgomery Goal for seven days from Welsh- pool, for vagrancy : he gave the name of THOMAS NOON a native of Ireland, said he had bt- eu working for the last nine years in the Docks at Hull, is 33 years of age, 5 feet C| inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, hezel eye3, scar on left cheek and on left shoulder blade, marks of cupping on chest, and large veins on left leg ; dressed in old military trousers, blue check shirt, old brown cloth waistcoat, old black alpaca jacket, and old black jimcrow hat.
