Stolen from the person of Thomas Harrison, while asleep in a field at Wargrave, Berks, on the evening of the 20th inst., a gold Geneva Watch, No. 40,225, gold Albert Chain, with Locket attached, containing Mr. Harrison's likeness.— Informa- tion to be given to Superintendent Millard, Town- hall, Wokingham, Berks.— Bow- street, July 20. Stolen from the person of a man, while lying on the road leading from Hodnet to Shrewsbury, duriDg the night of the I5th instant : a double cased silver verge Watch, No. 3756, maker Hulme, Cheadle. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Haines, Whitchurch, Salop.— Bow- street, July 20. Stolen from the person at the Reading Races, on the 15th and 16th instant: a gold duplex Watch, maker French, London, No. 10224 ; a small gold Geneva Watch, seconds hand off, mak- rs Stiffel and Cartier, No. 18704. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Purchase, Borough Police, Reading.— Bow- street, July 23. During the night of the 16th instant, the dwelling- house of the Rev, George Rashleigh, in the parish of Horton Kirby, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a silver Sugar Sifter, a silver Tea Spoon, crest— oak leaf ; a quantity of ancient silver Coins, consisting of Crowns, Half- crowns, Shil- lings, and Sixpences ; small Coins of the reigns of Charles 1st and 2nd, James 2nd, William and Mary, William 3rd, Anne, George 1st, 2nd, 3id, and 4th, and William the 4th ; also a quantity of copper and brass Medals. Supposed by two men of the following description : one is about 30 years of age, 6 feet 9 or 10 inches high ; the other is about 5 teet 0 or 7 inches high ; both dressed in dark clothes and cloth caps with brass buttons at sides. They arrived at Farringdon- road Station at 10 p. m., from Blackfriars- bridge Station, with tickets for Rochester- bridge. Information to be given to Superintendent Brandon, Police Station, Dartford, Kent.— — Bow- street, July 19. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Between 11 a. m. and 9 p. m. on the 23rd instant a cottage was entered at Burston and an old- fashioned silver Watch with brass Guard and small white Shell attached, and ten Shillings stolen therein. Supposed by a man of the following description : about 30 years ot age 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high ; dressed in a dark rough jacket, over a dirty white slop, cord trousers, large at the bottom, and a dark cap with peak, and had the appearance of a stoker. Information to be given to Superintendent Hollington, Godstone, Surrey.— Bow- street, July 20. Between 2 and 7' 30 p. m. on the 22nd instant, the house occupitd by Mrs. Wallace, at Hampton, near Evesham, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therein : a £ 6 Bank of England Note ; six Sovereigns ; twelve large Forks, twelve small ditto, eight Tuble Spoons, a gravy ditto, four Dessert ditto, five Tea ditto, two Salt ditto, a Cream Jug, a Sugar Ladle, a pair of Sugar Tongs, and a Meat Skewer, all silver, and marked ' W.;' four gold Brooches; two hair Bracelets; three pairs of gold Eyeglasses ; and a gold Watch Chain. JEIO reward, or a re « tf in proportion to the amount recovered will be paid to any f& rson who will give such infor- mation to Superintendent Harris, Pershore, Worcestershire, as will lead to the recovery of the property and conviction of the offenders.— bow- street, July 26. During the night of the 20th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Macking, in the parish ot Sunninghill, was broken and entered, and a silver Dessert Spoon and five ditto Tea Spoons ( old), all marked ' T. Rtwo silver Silt Spoons, a long- handled clothes Brush, a pair of Scissors, a black felt Eat, a leather Cigar- case, and thirty Postage Stamps, stolen therein. Supposed by three men who had been in the neighbourhood during the day selling musk plants: one about 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high ; dressed in dark clothes and a black felt hat turned up at one side : the other two are about 25 years of age, 6 feet 5 or 6 inches high ; dressed in dark clothe?. They all had the appearance of costermongers. Information to be given to Inspector Reece, County Police Station, Windsor, Berks.— Bow- street, July 23. During the night of the 19th, or early on the morning of the 20th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. J. S. Walker, surgeon, Bucknall road, Hanley. was entered, and the following property stolen therein : a double barrelled breech loading Gun, unpolished walnut stock, in a black leather case, with lock at both ends, and brass key holes ; also a skeleton time Piece, with marble stand, and silver letters on the dial. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Baker, Police Office, Hanley, or at any Police Station in the county of Stafford.— Bow- street, July 21. Between 12- 30 and 5- 30 a. m on the 19th instant the dwelling- house of Mr. Charles Kitchen, chemist, & c., of Oakengates, Salop, was burglariously broken and entered, and the following articles stolen therein: three meerschaum Tobacco Pipes, one of which has a gold ferrule, with the initials ' C. K' engraved thereon ; a meerschaum Cigar Holder, imitation of a man's head and beard ; two wooden pipes, a tobacco Pouch, and an old 20- keyed Concertina. Five guineas reward will be paid by the Priors Lee Asasociation for the prosecution of Felons and a further reward of 2 guineas will be paid by Mr. Charles Kitchen to any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property. Infor- mation to be given to Chief Superintendent Richardson, Wel- lington, or to Sergeant Turner, Saint George's, near Welling- ton, Salop.— Bow- slreet, July 21. Between 1 30 and 3 p. m. on the 15th instant, the houBe of Mr. George Boroughs, of No. 2, Victoria- street, in the borough of Reading, was entered during the absence of the inmates by means of skeleton keys, and the following property stolen therein : a pair of old- fashioned gold Ear- rings, a plain gold Wedding Ring ; three silver Tea Spoons, marked ' C. li. ;' a man's black cloth Jacket, pockets on hips ; a pair of black and white mixture Trousers, with black stripe down the side ; a Vest of same material; a woman's black Shawl, bound with black silk ; a silk Handkerchief, light centre, with spots and yellow border, marked ' E B.;' and about 28s. in money. Supposed by a man shabbily dressed, in blue clothes, of sailor appearance, from 30 to 40 years of age. nose rather flat and bent, aod whiskers and moustache of recent growth; he was seen in company with another man, dressed in a light canvas suit. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Pur- chase, Borough Police, Reading.— Bow- slreet, July 19. On the night of the 14th instant, the larder of John Baker, Esq., of Ebberston was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : a Ham, aside, and shoulder of Bacon. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction ot the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property, or in proportion thereto, on application to Mr. Baker. Information to be given to Inspector Metcalfe, North Riding Constabulary, Falsgrave, Scarborough, York.— Bow- street, July 19. aORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen on the morning of the 24th instant, from a meadow near the North Station of the Great Eastern Railway, the pro- perty of Mr. George Cooper, High street, Colchester, a dark bay maie Pony, 8 years old, 13| hands high, very fat, black mane, and short black tail, black legs, has recently been fired behind, and had no hind shoes on when stolen. Information to be given to Head Constable Downes, Town Hall, Colchester, by whom all reasonable expenses will be paid. — Bow- street, July 26. Stolen on the night of the 18th instant, from a field at West End. in the parish of South Stoneham : a two year old Heifer which was sold the next morning at Romsey. By DANIEL HALLETT, a native of Lympstone, D von. 27 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, blac'. c hair, whiskers and moustache, whiskers cut Yankey fashion ; dressed in black felt deerstalker hat, dark striped trousers, dark waistcoat, had no coat; he left Romsey about 10 a. m. by train for Salisbury ; he is well known at Poole, Bournemouth, and Southampton, atid on Railway Works, in the name of Henry Jarvis. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Stannard, Hants Con- stabulary, Bitterne, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. - Bow- street, Julj/ 26. Stolen on the night of the 24th instant, from Seal Chart, in the parish of Seal, a light black cart Horse. 4 years old, 15 hands high, white star on forehead, white spot on right upper jaw and on left lower jaw. Information to be given to Superintendent Colman, Sevenoaks, Kent.— Bow- st., July 26. Stolen from a field at Fetcham, Surrey, on the night of the 23rd instant, a black Mare ( of the light cart- horsa breed), aged, 15 hands 2 inches high, star on forehead, a little white behind the near ear, also on the off shoulder, the property ot Mr. William Dodge. A gipsy, about 45 years of age, 6 feet 8 or 10 inches high, wearing a blue guernsey, was seen near the field, and is suspected ; had » very old van painted blue, with one shaft bound with cord. Information to be given to Superintendent Page, Surrey Constabulary, Dorking or at the Police Station, Letherhead, Surrey.— Bow- street, July 26. OQ the 22nd instant, a man of the following description, hired a brown Mare, about 15 hands 1 inch high, aged, short tquare tail, and carries her head rather low from Mr. Welliard, of the Swan Livery Stables, Hastings, promising to return it in a few hours, and has failed to do so. He is a^ out 21 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark brown hair, cut very short, no whiskers; dressed in a black deerstalker bat, and grey suit, with black velvet collar. On the same day, a Horse of the following description, was obtained from Mr Bailey, livery stable keeper, Priory- street, Hastings, in a similar manner, a grey Geldiog, almost white, aged, very dark tail, points the off fore foot wf. en standing. By a youth, about 15 years of age, 6 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, and short light hair ; dressed in a black cloth cap, and grey suit, with velvet collar. He rode away from Hastings iu company with the before mentioned man. Both were traced to New Cross, riding in the direction of London on the 23rd instant. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Glenister, Hastings, who holds warrants for their apprehension.— Bow- street, July 26. Found at Sandhurst, Berks, a supposed to have been stolen, a dark brown mare Pony, a^ sd, about 12 hands high, blind with both eyes, long mane frud tail, in good condition, and appears never to bave been shod. Stolen from a field in the parish of Babingley, on the 16th instant: nine Lincoln Ewes, in good condition, marked on the rump with a dot of red paint, the property of Mr. Charles Bradfield. Information to be given to Superintendent Rose, Docking, or to Inspector Carter, Grimston, King's Lynn, Norfolk.— Bow- street, July 26. Stolta during the night of the 20th instant, fi in a stable at Askham, belonging to Mr. Oxley : a bay Horse, Saddle, and Bridle, the horse is 15 hands 2 inches high, blacs legs, and has a small saddle| mark on the near side, also on fetlock, cut by the shoe, and a splint on the tore leg. Whoever will give such information as sh- ll lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders shall receive £ 2 re ward. Information to be given to Superintendent Sanford, East Retford, Notts.— Bow- street July 23. Stolen from the Freemen's Commons, Northampton, about the 9th instant : a dark brown Welsh cob Horse, abont 9 years old, about 14^ hands high, black legs, plain head, shod blank for cutting, throws forefeet rather wide, heels and ears clipped out. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, North- hampton.— Bow- sircct, July 23. Found in the p itish of Monk Hopton, Salop, on the 14th instant, and supposed to nave been stolen, a black mare Pony, from 12 to 13 hands high, 4 years old, tail cut square at bottom, branded on right side with the letters ' M. R.,' shoed on all four feet and in good condition. Information to be given to Superintendent Ivius, Bridgnorth, or to P. C. ( 81) Merrick, Ditton Priors, Salop.— bow- areet, July 23. Stolen from a field st Stan way, in the parish of Rushbnry, Salop, on or about the 14th instant: a 3 year old red barren Cow, of the Hereford breed, with white stripe down the back, white face and breast, an i white hair at the end of tail, the property of William Horton, E q.. ot Stanway Manor. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Baxter, Church Stretton, Salop.— Bow- street, July 23. Stolen from a field at Great Dunmow, Essex, on the night of the 19 h iustant, the propertv ot Mr. William Matthams, farmer : a black nag Gelding aged, 14J hands high, strong made, star on forehead, a little white on hind feet, switch tail, a small sore on off side of b- ick, caused by the saddle, and in good condition. Information to begiven to the Superintendent of Police, Great Dunmow, Essex.— Bow- street, July 21. Absconded, charged with stealing two Yearlings, from a meadow in the parish of Tilehurst, on the 17th instant : a man who sold them in Reading Market the same day ( they are recovered) : he is about 25 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high , thin face, very much sun burnt, and a tuft of hair on chin ; dressed in a brown mixture jacket, dark trousers, and black felt deerstalker hat. Information to be given to Super- intendent Crook, Berks Constabulary Station, Reading. Bow- street, July 21. Stolen from a meadow near Chalkwell, parish of Borden on the 15th instant, « bay Horse, about 15 hands high, 9 years old, has a mark < n right shoulder caused by a scratch from a piece of iron. By two men : one about 25 years of age, 5 teet 8 or 9 inches high, fair complexion, and slight red whiskers • dressed in dark suit, trousers fitting tight to the legs, and* straw hat. The other about 19 years of age, 6 feet 6 or 7 inches hich, and sallow complexion ; dressed in dark suit trousers fitting tight to the legs The latter rode the horse away towards Chatham or Maidstone. Supposed stolen from a field at Enville, about the 10th instant : three ewe Sheep, two marked ' J. K.' and one ' W. A warrant has been issued against HENRY SHERIFF, a watchmaker, late of Brighton, hut supposed to belong to Birmingham, charged with stealing ar, Brighton a Watch intrusted to him to repair, found pledged ; he has had several other Watches wh. ch havn r ot, been traced. He is about 27 years of age, 6 leet 3 or 4 inchts high, fair complexion, black hair and moustache, whiskers shaved off, rather slight made and rather bowleg « ed ; generally dressed in black clothes and high black hat, sometimes wears a straw hat. Chatties and Sons, Adam- street West, St. Marylebone, embezzling £ 55 13s. 7d. : a clerk, 28 yearn of age. 6 feet 7 inches high, very fair complexion, Jiiht hair, blight moustache, and bad teeth ; dressed in a black cutaway coat > ke' s on hips, light trousers, white waistcoat, and black hat. A man, 26 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fair complexion, hair aud eyes, thick lips, small whiskers, mark over left eye, and ' D.' branded on left side ; dressed in stolen clothes. Absconded on the 17th instant, from No. 1, Britannia St., stealing £ 1 12s., a silk velvet Jacket, 6 grey linsey Skirt, a blue stuff Dress, a white Petticoat, a Jacket, and a grey Petticoat. A woman, 20 years of Bge, 5 feet high, fair hair aud complexion ; dressed in the stolen clothes.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, July 21. Stolen on the 16th instant, from the Plough public house, Conway : £ 16 in Gold, and £ 2 in Silver.
