Sotlcc.— It is requested that all communications for the pur- pose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolen property, may betir the Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to Mr. W. D. BURNABY, the Editor, Police Court, Bow- street, London, W. C. Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre hended, and the name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As HO charge is made for the insertion of any article in the k'OLICE GAZETTE, all Letters addressed to the Editor moat be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the Names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from the Militia, as well as those from the regular Army, intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, may be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War 0ffic2, Pall Mall, London, S. W.," as they cannot be published without his authority. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING On the night of the 20th instuut, some person shot at, and wounded Samuel Beeson, with intent to murder him, on the highway near Little Kingshill, in the county of Bucks. xoo reward will be paid to any person who will give such informa- tion as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender. Information to be given to Chief Constable Drake, or to Superintendent Denson, Police Office, Aylesbury.— Bow- street, March 29. Further information respecting the murder at Boxley, advertised in the Police Gazette of ' he 10th instant: at the coroner's inquest a verdict of ' Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown.' was returned. The murder is supposed to have been committed with a pistol loaded with small shot and having brown paper wadding. Two men were seen on premises close by about ten minutes before the murder, supposed for the purpose of rabbit and poultry stealing : one a short, stout man, dressed in black billycock hat and white slop ; the other a rather tall man, dressed in black clothes. A reward of £ 100 will be paid by Her Majesty's Govern- ment to aiiv person who shall give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murderer or murderers ; and the Secretary of State will advise the grant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the actual murderer, who shall give such informa- tion as shall lead to a like result. Description of HENRY KING, charged with cutting and W undiog Matthew Hammell, at Kyo, in the pan- h of Lan Chester, in the county of Durham, on the 28tn ultimo: he is about 38 or 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, stout make, small dark eyes, long face, high cheek bones, slightly pockmarked, light brown hair, ginger whiskers, has a blue mark above and below one of his eyes, large scar on left breast and arm, caused by a burn, he is a pitman, aud a native of Sligo, Ireland. Information to be given to Superintendent Thompson, Consett, Durham — Bow- street, March 17. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Between 2 and 5 p. m. on the 22nd instant, the dwelling- house of Frederick Hemsley, in the parish of Buxted, Sussex, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein, viz. : a nearly new double barrel Gun ; a silk Necker- chief, black ground, white diamond spots in the middle, and red border. Supposed by a man. about 25 years of age, light complexion, pale thin face, light brown hair, a few light whiskers at tip of chin, and slight figure ; dressed in a dark rusty cloth jacket, trousers and vest, black and white woollen scarf, dark cloth stitched hat, soft crown and stiff brim, turned up at the sides, and a pair of thin blucher boots, no nails in them. Information to be given to Superintendent Peacock, Uckfield, Sussex, or to Sergeant Peerless, Mark Cross, Tuu- bridge Wells.— Bow- street, March 29. The house of Mr. Jude Roq, Britannia Grove, at Sale, near Manchester, waB broken into on the night of the 24th instant, and the following clothing and other property stolen therein : a black cloth Overcoat, a do. dress Coat, a brown Coat, a do. with braid and much worn ; a velvet garden Gown, much worn ; a ladies' grey Jacket, a waterproof Cloak without sleeves, and has been burnt on the back and sewn up ; 9 silver- plated Tea Spoons. Information to be given to Superintendent StaAD| AllllUbUaiu, OUcotiiio. . — On the 12th instant, about 10 a. m., a man. unknown left a Pony in the care of the ostler of the Gardener's Arms beer- honse, Wakefield, stating that some oDe would call for it in half an hour, but up to the present time no owner can be found, and the pony is supposed to have been stolen; it is from 12 to 13 hands high, bay or brown with white legs, has been clipped, and has a white star in forehead. Information to be given to Chief Constable Chipstead, Police Station, Wakefield.— Bow- Urea, March 19. Stolen from a field near the Fenton Railway Station, Staffordshire, on the 8th in* ant, the property of Mr. Richard Hammonds, shopkeeper, King- street, Fenton. a dark iron- grey cart Colt, rising 3 years old. about 15 hands high, with a long mane and tail, has not been broken, and is in a rough state. At 8' 30 p. m on the 18th instant, seven wheat Stacks were discovered on fire, and bundles of straw laid between to connect the stacks, which were consumed, in the stack yard of Mr. Ralph Wilkinson, of the Grange Farm. Supposed by a man about 22 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, proportionate make, dark complexioD, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, thin dark whiskers round chin, two 6mall scars on forehead, large wart on back of head, and dressed in an old blue pilot coat, pockets on hips, grey vest, dark grey mixture trousers, black cloth cap, and old blucher boots. ( See Police Gazette. 8th July last) On the 2nd July last he WSB committed to Northallerton Gaol for three months, for being upon Mr. Wilkinson's premises for an unlawful pur- pose, at which time he threatened to fire Mr Wilkinson's premises. Absconded on the 17th inst., from No. 15, Old Compton- street, stealing a £ 5 Bank of England Note. No. 73050. aud £' J in Gold and Silver : a man, 28 yea s of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes ; dressed in dark suit, dark speckled hat, arid lace- up boots ; has served in the Royal Artillery.— Metropolitan Police, C Division, March 22. Absconded on the 17th instant, from No. 4, Liverpool- street, King's Cross, stealing £ 69 18s. 9d. : a man, 28 years of age, 5 fee- 8 inches high, fresh cimploxian, lifjht hair and whiskers; dressed in brown ovetcoit, dark tjveed suit, and hat ; may visit at No. 44, Regent- square ; a traveller.— Metro- politan Police, E Division, March 22. Absconded from Macclesfield on the 23rd of January his", charged with stealing from furnished lodgings: ANDREW HALL, a plumber and glazier, and MARGARET his wife, he is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, full eyes, fresh complexion, sandy hair and whiskers ; she is about 35 years of age, middle height, stout, fresh complexion, aud dark wavy hair. Stolen on the 18th instant., from the dwelling- house of Mr. Thomas Watson, of Stockton- on- Tees a pair of grey cloth Trousers, fly fronts, a small cut on right knee ; a pair of Trousers and a Vest, black and grey striped cloth; a light tweed Coat, with broad fronts, flaps acro- s waist ; a light grey Vest, with watch pocket in left breast ; a blue Tie, with carved nut ; a fancy red Tie, with black jet pin in the form of a star, with a brilliant in the centre; a pair of Wellington Boots, which have been fronted ; a pocket Knife, marked ' A. A. ;' a brown slack Coat, bound with black braid ; a large Carpet- bag, the lock of which is broken ; four Handkerchiefs, one of which is marked ' R. P.;' and several pairs of Cuffs',- Collars, Studs, & c. By a man who lodged in the house two nights : 20 or 21 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, fair complexion, and dark brown hair, which is short and frizzy ; dressed in brown coat, dark vest, light trousers, lace- up boots, and grey mixture soft billycock hat.
