C. *.* Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- fiendJu, and the name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of ' he offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As HO charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Letter* addressed to the Editor most he prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the Names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from the Militia, as well as those from tbe regular intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, may be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War Office, Pall Mall, London, S. W.," as they cannot be published without his authority. INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING A female of the following description is charged on suspi- cion of having murdered her infant daughter, whose body was found in a ditch iu the township of Church Coppenhall on the 18th instant. An adjourned 10quest has been held. She is about 28 years of age, 4 feet 1C inches high, very sallow com- plexion, full features, broad set, tquare shoulders, and dressed th black hat, black cape or cloak, greeu plaid dress. She had with her a small bundle, and a small yellow box, such as is used for gloves ; she was accompanied by a man about £ 0 years age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, pale completion, grey whiskers, very thin, and stoops a little ; dre- sed in black hat, oat, snd trousers; he also had a small bundle. Tiiey travel from place to place, selling paper flowers and antimacassers. They were traced to Birkenhead by the 4' I6 p. m. train from Crewe ou tha 18th instant. Stolen from the person at Rainham, Kent, on the night of the 11th instant, a silver lever Watch aud Guard, No. 953, maker Hills, Rochester, ' M. A. M.' on outside case. Description of a person giving the name of CHARLES WHITE, sentenced to 2 months imprisonment in Beaumaris Gaol for larceny from the person during the Regatta on tbe 11th instant. He is 21 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, brown hair, dark brown eyes, fair complexion, proportionate build, scar on left side of neck, and small cut mark on end of nose. Says he is a native of Chester, but supposed to belong to Peterborough, Northamptonshire. Is a hawker. Had in his possession a brown overcoat, wi « h two outside and two inside pockets, a velvet collar, sleeveB and body lined with means of housebreaking, a gold Watch, No. 8838, gold Neck- chain attached ; a silver Geneva Watch ; two gold Lockets, one half moon pattern ; a dead- gold Breast Pin, about f in. long, about J- in. wide, oval shape, large carbuncle stone in centre, maroon c , jir, small blue pattern running round stone on a dead gold flit surface ; two German silver Caddy Spoons ; Iuformation tr. be given to Chief Superintendent Campbell, Town Hall, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.— Bow- strut, August 21. Stolen by means of housebreaking between the hours of 3 and C p. m. on the 18th instant, from the dwelling- house of Isaac Broaden, at Little Green Farm, in the parish of Eynsham, Oxon, £ 12 in Gold. Is in Silver, some Coppers, a gold wedding Ring, much worn, and a pebb e Brooch, oval shaped, dark red stone encircled by a gold wire band, and had the pin broken off. Information to be given ; o Superintendent Cope, Witney, Oxon.— Bow- street. August 21. Between 8 and 11 a. m. on the 19th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Christopher Blenkiron, of Mount Pleasant, in the township of Washton, in the North Riding of Yorkshire, was broken into, and the following Articles of Wearing Apparel stolen therein, viz. : two block cloth shooting Jackets and Vests ; two pairs of grey mixture Trousers ; a drab cloth Vest ; two pairs of woollen cord Trousers ; a grey cloth Top- coat, » ith velvet collar ; a brown, green, yellow and violet stripe woollen Shirt; two white linen Shirts; a black cloth Cap ; a leather Purse, containing 6' s. in Silver, and 4d. in Copper ; and a pair ot lace up Boots, with toe caps. Supposed by tramps. A pair of old strong lace- up Boots, with a piece cat out behind each heel, ann an old greasy b'ack cloth cap, were found in the bouse. Between 1 and 11 p. m. on the 14th instant, the dwelling- ARSON AND WILFUL BURNING- On the evening of the 16th instant, at about 8- 30 p. m., | wo ricks of Wheat, containing about 100 Bags, situate in a held at Earls Croome, occupied by Mr John Checketts, and jue ptoperty of the Earl of Coventry, were discovered to be on fire, and were entirely consumed ; supposed to be the act of | ' ticendiary. £ 25 reward will be paid by the Earl of Coventry to any person giving such information as may lead to the' aPPrehension and conviction if the offender or offenders.
