Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As BO charge is made for the insertion of any article jn the POLICE GAZETTE, ail Letters addressed to the Editor most be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the Names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from the Militia, as well as those from tbe regular Army, intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, mny be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War Office, Pall Ma London, S. W.," as they cannot be published without his authority. INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Description of a man charged with the wilful murder of Elizabeth Eastwood, alias Lizzy Taylor, who died at Dartford . BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. On the night of the 2nd inst., Stonehouse Court, Stroud, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : four large piliar Candlesticks, oval bottoms, plain pattern, and much worn ; four bedroom Candlesticks, two of which were marked with a crest— a hand holding a dart or dagger ; a Cruet Stand ; and the Tops of three bottles— all silver. Information to be given to Superintendent Hanbidge, Stroud, Gloucestershire.— Birw- utreet, Aprils. During the night of the 2nd instant, the Rectory House at Cadeby, Leicestershire, was entered, and the following property stolen therein : 2 pair* of gold Spectacles, pebble glass, and a tortoiseshell Case. 1 pair of silver Spectacles, old fashioned, marked * S. 40 ' on one side. 1 large gold oval Locket, double sides, with light and dark hair, set with stars. 4 silver tops of Inkstands, marked ' R. T. A.' in old English, crest— a squirrel uuderneath, and cypher at top. 6 silver plated defs » rt Knives, with white handles. 6 ditto Forks, with four prongs. 1 silver Tea Spoon, marked • R. T. A.' Also 16s. 6in Silver. The property of the Rev. R. T. Adnutt. Whoever will give such information as w111 lead to t he apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive £ 5 reward from Mr. Adnutt. Information to he given to Superintendent Moore, Constabulary Station, Hinckley.— Bow- street, April 6. Betwefn 10 p. m. on the 31st ult.. and 6 a. m. on the lst inst., the dwelling- house of Mr John Beach, of the parish of Shrawley, in the county of Worcester, was broken and entered and the following property Btolen therein : a £ 5 Note, of the Worcester Old. Information to be given to and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall ' receive £ 5 reward, upon application to Head Constable White, Borough Police Office, Gravesend.— Boui- strect, April 1. Between 1 and 6 a. m. on the 20th instant, a shoemaker's shop in Eglwysfach, was broken into and a pair of Wellington Boots, a pair of Watertight, a pair of half Watertights, a pair of half Boots, a pair of e'astic bide Boots, and a pair of half Boots of a woman's size, all quite new, were stolen. They have been traced to the possession of two tramps, one of whom is in custody at Llanrwst, and gives the name of WILLIAM JOHNSON, alias TIP, a native of Addison street, Liverpool, but bas been staving at a common lodging- house for the last five weeks in Mouot- stree', Wrexham ; the other is still at large, haviDg made his escape with two pairs of the stolen boots, the Wellington and strong new watertight, and is sup- posed to be making his way towards Wrexham : he is about 28 years of age, 6 feet 6 or 6 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and whiskers, meeting under tbe chin, has lost two of his upper front teeth, and dreuss.- d in a dark cap, old blue pilot cloth top coat, light fustian trousers, and wore, at the time he escaped, the above- men'ioned watertights; he is well known throughout North and South Wales, in all the common tramps' lodging- houses; he speaks with an Irish accent, and goes by the name of JACK. He can be identified. £ 1 reward will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender, and recovery of the property. Description of a man charged with housebreaking near Essenden, Herts, on the 26th instant, and stealing a Coat, Waistcoat, and Handkerchief, which lie pawned the same day at tbe shop of Mr. Phillips. He is 33 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, sallow complexion, grey eyes, light brown hair, end of right hand thumb off, first joint, cut mark on top part of left arm . rnvir elbow, also a cut mark on left shoulder, and wart on back of neck. Information to be given to Chief Constable Segrave, Wolverhampton. — Bom- street, April 1. PROPERTY STOLEN. Stolen from the Collingwood Arms inn, Cornhill, Lowick, on the lst instant, a large sized Table Cloth, marked on one comer ' Scott and Wilson,' and four peacocks marked on the centre of cloth, the property of Mr. Charles Scott, the landlord. Stolen from Tedsmere Hall, near Oswestry, Salop, on the night of the 30 h ult, 2 woollen Shirts, marked ' B. H. B. O.;' 2 jeisey Shirts, 3 paiis of brown woollen Stockings, marked ' S. H. H.;' and a pair of light tweed Trousers; from the • drying ground. Information to be given to Sergeant Martin, West Felton, Salop.— Boa- street, Apiil 6. Stolen during the night of the 2nd instant, from the pigeon ( jyOte, belonging to Mr. Wm Clapham, at Hatfield Magna, in the, r- » iibh of Sigglesthorne, iu the East Riding of York, about fi/ rty pigeons, ot tbe common breed, colours mostly blue. The thief is supposed to have had a net to put over the pigeon holes in the cote, and two men, strangers, had been seen loitering a' out in the village, during the afternoon, and they are described HS being dressed in dark clothes. Stolen from a garden at Yeadon, on the 23rd instant, a light drab Macintosh Coat, repaired ou sleeve, supposed left. A tramping singer is suspected who was accompanied by a woman who Carried a child. Description of s woman who left her lodgings at the Royal Oak Inn, Witney, Oxon, taking with her t wo Sheets, one of whL'h is unbleached, the other white calico, the property of the landlord, G. Heydon: she is about 34 or 35 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, full face, fresh complexion, brown hair, stout made ; dre- sed in a black tulle bonnet, tiimmed with brown leaves on the crown, green plaid shawl, brown jacket under, drab alp- tca dress, trimmed with block woollen ihree or four inches wide near the bottom. The shawl also is the property of Mr. Heydon, . she having borrowed it before leaving Witney. Information to be given to Superintendent Cope, Police Station, Witney, Oxon.— Bow street, March 30.
