XV.," as they cannot be published without his authority. INFORMATIONS MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Description of a man named THOMAS DELANEY, charged with the manslaughter of Michael McLoughlin, on the 8th ii stant, at Wolverhampton : about 25 years of age, 6 feet 7 inches high, dark brown hair ; dressed in dark cloth coat, cord or moleskin trousers, and dark cloth cap ; has worked as a labourer in ironworks ; he was traced to Bilston, where he slept at a common lodging house on the night of the 8th, and left for Birmingham on the morning of the Oth instant. Information to be given to Captain Segrave, Chief Constable, Wolverhampton.— Bow- street, October 22. On the afternoon of the 24 h instant, the Body of a new- born male child was found on the Sands, near the West Pier, Brighton. An inquest was held on the 25th instant, when the Jury returned a verdict of Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown. Whoever will give such information to Chief Constable G. White, Town Hall, Brighton, as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders shall receive £ 5 reward.— Bow street, October 26. On the 20th instant the body of a female Child, apparently about three weeks old, was found in the Glamorganshire Canal at Cardiff, wrapped in a long coloured nightgown and the end of a bag made of coarse cloth ; the infant had a string round its neck, and the skull was fractured. A coroner's jury have returned a verdict of • Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown.' Information to be given to Superintendent Stockdale, Cardiff, Glamorganshire.— Bow- street, October 22. Early on the morning of the 8th instant, by means of the explosion of a large quantity of gunpowder, contained in a tin can thrown or placed in the cellar of the dwelling- house of William Fearnehough, of New Hereford- street, Sheffield, an attempt was made to destroy the said dwelling- house, with intent to murder the persons therein. The sum of £ 1,100 will be C'lid to any person or persons who will give such informa- tion aU. i' evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the offender or offenders, .£ 100 of which Her Majesty's Government has authorized to be offered ; and Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State will advise the grant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice ( not being the actual offender or offenders,) who will give such information and evidence as aforesaid. Information to be given to Chief Constable Jackson, Town Hall, Sheffield.— Bow- street, Oct. 19. when she left home ( Glasgow) she had only two dresses with her, one a heavy dark winsey and the other a light fancy with a flower through it, and a light coloured cloak with large bottons down front. A warrant against Greatrex has been issued.— Metropolitan Police, A Division, October 24. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON Stolen from the person at Devizes Fair, on the 20tli inst., a double- bottomed silver hunting Watch, maker Philips, Geneva, No. 27030— 1317, the ring broken away from the bow. Information to be given to the Superintendent of Police, Devizes, Wilts.— Bow- street, October 24. Stolen from the person of a gentleman, on the evening of the 17th instant, in Maidstone, a gold duplex compensating Watch, makers J. McCabe and Co., London, No. 18751, with a long link gold Chain, two gold Seals, and gold Key attached, one of the seals has engraved on it a crest— two serpents entwined in a gemmed ring, the other, a lion rampant and the crest. Information to be given to Head Constable Barnes, Borough Police, Maidstone, Kent.— Bow- street, October 22. Supposed to have been stolen from the person of a gentle- man, in a first class carriage on the railway between Stafford and Cambridge, by Bletchley, three £ 5 Bank of England Notes ; stopped at the bank. £ 3 reward will be paid on the restoration of the notes and conviction of the offender or offenders, if stolen. Information to be given to Head Constable Turrall, Police Office, Cambridge.— Bow- street, October 22. Description of JOHN SCOTT, who absconded from Hartlepool on the 14th instant, charged with stealing from Robert Mann seven Sovereigns and £ 1 10s. in Silver, whilst passing over Hartlepool Moor : he is a native of Ireland, 23 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion and eyes, dark brown hair, and proportionate figure ; dressed in a cotton cord jacket and vest, fustian trousers, { black cloth cap, and strong navvy boots ; has lost an upper front tooth, has a scar on the temple, and is much addicted to drinking. Information to be given to Superintendent Davidson, Durham County Con- stabulary, West Hartiepool.— Bow- street, October 19. given to Iuspector Coates, Woodstock, Oxon.— Bow- street, October 24. Between 5 and 9 p. m. on the 14th instant, the dwelling- house of Ann Clarke, of Little Heath, Audlem, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom: 4 breast Pins— one mourning, round head; one horseshoe, set with pebbles; one gold 6tirrup; one round Ring, green stone in centre. 1 gold collar Stud, embossed. 2 gold Brooches— one octagon, broad blue flowers; one FORGERY. Description of JOHN HENRY GREATREX, charged forgery : a photographer, about 38 years of age, nearly feet high, stoutish build, weight about 13 or 14 stones, military appearance, gruff voice, and generally speaks quickly and nervously, English accent, sallow complexion, prominent nose, dark hair combed over to right where it is brushed into a sort of curl, large grey eyes which he usually opens very • wide when speaking ; it is supposed there is some imperfection in his upper lip, but it is concealed by his moustache ; when last seen he wore large bushy drooping whiskers and moustache and long beard of a dark colour slightly tinged with grey, but these have been shaved off; has large feet, and walks erect with a theatrical gait. He was for some time in business in Regent- street, London, as a photographer, at which business he is considered an adept ; and it is believed that he has previously been an actor. He was a member of the sect called the Plymouth Brethren, and was very fond of speaking in public, having frequently preached at street corners. He has travelled in America and Australia, and it is said was accustomed in his youth to a sea- faring life. He is now supposed to be accom- panied by a woman, about 22 years of age, ordinary height and make, genteel and good- looking, round pleasant face, brown hair which she generally wears crimped ; she was employed as BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Between II' 30 p. m. on the 24th and 3 a. m. on the 26th instant, some person burglariously entered the dwelling- house of Mr. William Gelson, No. 68, King William- street, Black burn, and stole therefrom the following property : a dark blue doeskin cloth Overcoat, black silk velvet collar, bound at the edges with black cloth, black covered buttons, two pockets in seams at sides, one pocket in left breast, a ticket pocket in right side, a very heavy coat ; a grey rough cloth Overcoat, black and white striped lining, black covered buttons, three outside pockets and one inside left breast, a small hole burnt near the right pocket ; a pair of patent leather Leggings, reach above the knee in front, part worn, the glaze broken in places; and a pair of brown knitted Muffatees. Information to be given to Chief Constable Potts, Town Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire.— Bow- street, October 29. Stolen from the dwelling- house of Mrs. Jones, near Wrex- ham, on the night of the 2Cth or morning of the 27th instant, the following property : a black silk Dre6s, with two rows of crape round the bottom of the skirt; a black merino Dress, with one row of crape round the skirt about half a yard wide ; a black quilted Skirt ; a black merino Shawl; a box of Cigars ; fib. of Tobacco ; 1 lb. of Butter, a loaf of Bread, and some Beef. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bradshaw, Wrexham, Denbighshire.— Bow- street, October 29. On the 20th inst., the dwelling- house of Robert Williams, of Bosley, near Macclesfield, Cheshire, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : a blue cloth corded Coat and Vest, with black horn buttons; a pair of grey mixture Trousers ; a gentleman's gold Ring; and four pairs of grey worsted Stockings, quite new. Information to be given to Superintendent Williamson, County Constabulary Office, Macclesfield.— Bow- street, October 26. At 1 a. m. on the 21st instant, the house of Mr. J. Gittins, Shoot Hill Ford, near Shrewsbury, was broken and entered, and stolen therefrom : £ 15 in Gold in a yellow canvas Bag, and an old silver Watch with hair Guard attached. By four men who went into the bedroom and demanded the money, one was rather shorter than the other three, and wore a jimcrow hat, they were all dressed in dark clothes, their faces were con- cealed, and are supposed to be from Birmingham or Liverpool. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to their apprehension and conviction. Information to be given to Superintendent Ivins, Shrewsbury.— Bow- street, October 24. On the night of the 22nd instant, between 7 p. m. and 6 a. m., the shop of John Hall, of Tackley, was entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : a set of Dies with frame; one J- inch Taper, one J- inch Plug, and one finch Tap ; one |- inch, one 4- inch, one i- inch, and finch Dies; one small Spanard ; and one tin Can. The i- inch plug tap has a bit broken off at one end, and a tap was made out of an old file. W, C,' By THOMAS GANDERTON, a ticket- of- leave convict, con- victed at Stafford, 31st December, 1860, aad sentenced to six years' penal servitude. He was discharged on 5th August, 18C5, and went to Birmingham, and afterwards transferred to Walsall, which latter place be left about three weeks ago, without reporting himself to Police. He is about SO years of age, 5 feet 0 or 7 inches high, sallow complexion, hrowu lialr, grey eyes, rather good looking, tuft of hair under chin, no whiskers, blue 6peck on left hand, scars on eyebrows, mole on left arm and shoulder blade, and ' E. C.' on left arm; dressed in a pepper- and- salt long coat and billycock hat. Information to be given to Superintendent Laxton, Nantwich, Cheshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Oct. 22. Duriug the night of the 19th instant, the saddle- room belonging to G. Pai doe, Esq., of Nash- Court, parish of Bur- ford, was broken into, and stolen therefrom: a pair of cashmere Breeches, four pearl buttons on each knee, also a pair of red Braces aitached to them ; a dark brown mixture stable Jacket, lined with brown tweed ; a pair of dark cloth Trousers, lined with calico; 2 white linen Shirts, marked ' W. H. T.' on collar ; 1 pair of light lace- up Boots, with brass eyelets; a pair of top Boots; a silver lace hat Band. Information to be given to Superintendent McWilliam, County Constabulary Office, Bridgnorth, Salop, or to Police Constable ( 44) J. Powner, Burford, near Tenbury, Worcestershire.— Bow- street, October 22. On the night of the 20th instant, the drapers Bhop of James Faulkner, at Cheadle, was broken aud entered, and the follow- ing property stolen : two white linen Jackets, men's size, with metal buttons; two new woollen Mufflers, one black and scarlet, the other peach and white ; three paire of men's blue grey woollen Stockings; and about 13s. in Silver and Copper, amongst which is a 4d.- Piece with two holes in it. Informa- tion to be given to Superintendent Steer, Stockport, Cheshire. — Bou>- slrect, October 22. About midnight on the 18th instant, the premises of Hyman Phillips, pawnbroker, Cardiff, were broken and entered, and stolen therefrom: 1 Melton Coat, pockets at side. 1 light Coat, pockets at side. I 6 Vests. 7 Crimean Shirts. 1 black French Hat. 2 black Handkerchiefs. 3 fur monkey Jackets. 1 second hand ditto, sleeves moth eaten. 1 pair of black cloth Trousers. 1 pair of speckled cloth ditto, fly fronts. Information to be given to Superintendent Stockdale,^ Cardiff, Glamorganshire — Bow- street, October 22. Absconded on the morning of the 17th> instant, breaking out of the house of Mrs. Murray, boarding- house keeper, New- port, Monmouthshire, a Scotch sailor, called BEN, stealing a pair of moleskin Trousers, a grey Crimean Shirt, a light ditto, a check Shirt, a black cloth Waistcoat, three singlet Shirts ( one of them bound with red), a duck Jumper, a pair of Wellington Boots, a white calico Shirt, a long Towel, and two loaves of Bread ; all the clothing belongs to seamen. lie is 2G years of age, about 6 feet high, brown hair, and clean shaved; dressed in brown and white striped trousers, blue overcoat with velvet collar, and plaid shirt; he talked of going to Liverpool. Information to be given to the Chief Superin- tendent, Borough Police Office, Newport, Monmouthshire.— Bow- street, October 19. Between 11 a. m. and 7 p. m. on the 16th instant, the dwelling- house of William Bowe, of Hunton, farmer, was broken and entered, and the following articles stolen therefrom: a Bilver verge Watch, ' W. B.' engraved on the inner case, a silver Guard, and a gold wedding Ring. Two men of the following description were seen loitering about the village, and are suspected : one about 40 years of age, 6 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion, stoutly built, and slightly pockpitted; dressed in a dark pilot jacket, dark trousers, and black billy- cock hat: the other about 30 years of n- e, 5 feet 8 inches high ; dressed in pepper and- salt- coloured coat aud trousers and black cloth cap. Information to be given to Superintendent Walmsley, North [ tiding Constabulary, Leyburn, Yorkshire. — Bow- st cet, October 19. HORSE AMD CATTLE STEALING Stolen during the night of the 27th instant, three Lambs, from a field in the parish of Ahy, the property ot Mrs. E. Mackinder, Belleau. Thsy are marked on the near side with the letter ' M' in pitch, and uuier the brand they are skin marked with a dot of red paint, one has a hole punched or. the near ear and a dot of red paint on the top of near hip. Infor- mation to be given to Inspector in vis, Couuty Police Station, Alford, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, October 29. Supposed to have been stolen on the 22nd instant, from Hailing, the property of Mr. Charles Vane, a very dark grey mare Cob, 3 years old, 13 hands hign, long mane and tail, the fore shoes are off, and has not been worked. Information to be given to Superintendent Everist, Chatham, Kent- Bow- street, October 29. Supposed to have been stolen from a field in the borough of Maldon, on the night of the 26th instaut, the property of Wm. Keys, horse dealer, Maldon, a dark red roan Cart Mare, 16 hands 2 inches high, rather lklit in the body, 5 or 6 years old; a dark eheseut Cart Horse, 16 hands 2 or 3 inches high, 6 or 6 > ears old, has one hock swollen; and a light chesuut Cart Horse, 7 years old, 1C hands 2 iuchest high, rather worn in the hue le^ s, all in good condition. £ 10 reward will be given, it stolen, on the conviciiou of the offender or uffeuders. Found in the parish of Llanfair, on the high road leading from Llnnfair to Guthlwy. d Hall, on the morning of tbe 24th instant, supposed to have been stolen, ; t small light bay mare Pony, about 12 hands high, aged, ulack mane, tail, and legs, light muzzle, very active, in good condition, and wounded on left hip witiisome edged instrument. Found at Great Marlow, Bucks, on the 22nd instant, and supposed to have been stolen, a very dark grey mare Pony, about 4 years old, 14 hands high, in ver:. good condition, also a Mule, light chesnut colour, with broken Knees. Information to be given to Inspector Clear, Police Station, Great Marlow, Bucks,— Boa- street, October 20. Further information respecting the black nag Mare, sup- posed stolen fiom a field at Bighton, on the 11th instaut, the property of Mr. C. Two men, of the following description, are charged with stealing Ponies, since recovered, between Chester and Bridge Trafford, on the 12th instant: one is 30 or 35 years of age. 5 feet 6 to 8 inches high, swarthy complexion, and dressed in old long dark coat, cord trousi rs fitting tight to the legs, aud old black cap; the other man is lr, 111 50 to 65 years of age, and dressed as a low horse dealer, and is well known in Chester and the suriounding counties, among liorsu d alers. Information to be given to Sergeant Hilton, Police Office, Frodsham, Cheshire.— Buw- strcet, October 24. Supposed stolen from a field at Bighton, near Alresford, oil the 11th instant, a black nag Mure, aged, 14 hands 2 inches high, white star on forehead, small white streak down to the nostril, near hind foot white, bang tail, the property of Mr. Cox Follott. Informali in to be given to Superintendent Everitt, Winchester, of to Sergeant Bennett, Hants Constabulary Station, Aliesford.— Bmo- urtrt, October 19. Stolen on the night of the 14th instant, from Laindon Hills, near Brentwood, a bay horse Cob, aged, 14 hands high, rough coat, in ^ ood condition, and in consequence of a con- traction of the sinews of the fore legs treads on the forepart of the hoofs, the shoe of the m » r fore toot is worked round the front of the hoof to protect it Also stolen, from Upminster common, near Romford, on t e morning of the 15th instant, a dark chesnut Cob, 13^ hands high, 4 yeurs old, st ir on forehead, rough coat, hind fetlocks while, ana very strongly made. By two men, having the appeal -. nee ot gipsy horse dealers : one is about 5 feei 7 inches high, 30 years of age, dark complexion, Hiid dressed in a blue guernsev, a j icket or coat over, and black cap ; the other is about the same age, light complexion, and dressed in a white coat, and light billycock hat: both have the appearance of oostermongers or low hoise dealers, and weie traced as far as Ilford, and appeared to be going in the direction of Woodford, i' 10 reward will b. given for such information as- thall kid to their appn heusioii and conviction, and recovery of the horses. Information to l e given at Brentwood Con- stabulary Station, Essex. — Box- street, October 19. Further information respecting the bay cart Mare stolen fiom Mr. Benjamin Burton, at Whittlesev, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 28th ultimo: ROBERT TOPPER, alias KETTERINGHAM, a knacker, horse dealer, and an occasional sub- contractor on public works, is committed for trial on the 2nd January next, for stealing it, but the mare has not been recovered; it was lasc seen iu possession of the prisoner at Potter's Bar on the 24ih ultimo, and is now likely to be found abandoned a short distance from Loudon. Information to be given to Superintendent Smith, Whittlesey, Cambs.— Bow- street, October 19. Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Handsworth, on the night of the 21st instant, a black mare Pony, aged, 11 hands high, long mane and tail, rough coat, marked ( P) on right shoulder, and in good condition. Informationjto be given to Sergeant Richards, Police Office, Handsworth, Staffordshire. — Bow- street, October 24. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT- Further particulars respecting the robbery from the trow boat at Stourport on the 22ud instant, advertised in the Police Gazette of tbe 20th instant: the trousers, vest, stockings, and shoes have been recovered, and are in the hands of the police at Stonrport. A wan t has bee issued for the apprehension of EDWARD HIGGS, boatman, for the felony, he was at Tipton Green, Staffordshire, on ( he 24th instant, inquiring for work as a boatman, and s supposed to b - in that neighbourhood working on board some canal boot ; he is about 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fair hair and complexion, whiskers on chin and tin oat; ch ess d iu a moleskin or plush waistcoat with sleeves, aud moleskin trousers and cap ; very fo d of drink, and nhen he is diunk is very quarrelsome. Information to be given to Superintt ndent Stanton, Stourport, Worcestershire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bout street, October 29. Stolen from the ' Wilson's Arms,' public- house, Oaken, shaw, in the township of Crofton, about 1 p. m. on the 25th instant, a dark browu silk Umbrella, with walking stick handle, steel frame, aod two leather tassels attached to the handle. By a man, 34 years of age, 6 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, scar on hreast; dressed in shabby cloth clothes, black cloth cap, and lice- up boots; he is a framework knitter by trade, a native of Tring, Bucks, anl lant resided at 122, Pipe- street, Nottingham. He left O; . tnshaw Station at 1' 40 p. m. for Sheffield, with the umbrella in his possession, and stated that his wife resides at Abbey- street, Leicester. Information to be given to Superintendent Hall, West Riding Constabulary, Wakefield, Yorkshire.— Bow street, October 29. Stolen between 5 p. m. on the 21st and 4 a. m. on the 22nd instant, from 2, Sawmill- lane, Crayford, £ 2 in Gold, 10s. in Silver, a plaid woollen Scarf, and » pair of common Earrings.
