Description of a man charged with housebreaking at Tonbridge on the 28> h ultimo : about 28 years of age, 6 feet 8 or 8 inches high, dark hair, small light moustache, and dressed in a long black coat, vest, and trousers. Stolen during the night of the 26th instant, from the dwelling house of Charles Gurney, of Ledbury: a pair of Blucher Boots, six lace holes on each side, three or four new square headed hobnails in the outside of each heel; a 2- foot Rule, which has been broken and repaired with brass plates ; two plated Table Spoons ; a pair of silver Spectacles ; a pair of olack Gloves; two Tablecloths; a Pocket handkerchief; a Towel; ami a steel Tobacco- box. A youth, a convicted thief, a native of Ledbury, of the following description, is suspected : about 18 years of age, 6 feet 9 or 10 inches high, sallow com- plexion, brown hnir, thin face, turns out bis ties when walking ; supposed to be dressed in black jacket and cap and light trousers. Information to be given to Superintendent G. Tanner, Ledbury, Herefordshire.— bow- street, August 31. Between 2 and 4 a. m. on the 29th instaut, four dwelling- houses at Little Horwood, Bucks, were burglariously entered, and there were stolen from James Wakes, two new calico Shirts, one with lrteh linen front; 8 yaids ot new Calico; a shepherd's plaid Shawl; a homemade Hearth Rug, red, black, white, and grey bordered cloth, 4 feet by 3 leet: and from Thomas Quainton's, a silver Table Spoon, marked with three initials; a pair of old- fashioned silver Sugar Tongs, plain; a silver Caddy Spoon, plain ; a silver plated Caddy Spoon, plain; three small very old- tashioned silver Tea Spoons, plain; five german silver Tea Spoons, plain ; about £ 1 in Silver and 2s. ' in Copper; three parts of a bottle of Gin; a lj- pint yellow earthen Jug; a blue and white Basin ; and a red and white Tea Cup. Supposed by a man of middle height and size, dressed in light slop, dark trousert ' it or cap, and had serosa his arm a dark coat; has the appearance of a bi icklayer's labourer. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent Breary, Fenny Stratford, or to Sergeant J. Markham, Wiuslow, Bucks.— Bow- street, August 31. Between the hours of 11 a. m. and 1 p. m. on the 26th instant, during the absence of the family at divine service, tbe dwelling- house of Elizabeth Hirst, Cartwright- street, Doncaster, was broken into, and the following property stolen theretrom: 1 large old- fashioned gold Watch, with gold dial. 1 gold Locket, with miniature portrait of a young man. 1 small gold Pencilcase. 1 gold beat. 1 old- lashioned silver verge Watch, with gold seal. 2 Table Spoons, 11 Tea Spoons,. Jjlt f , on, 1 Mustard Spoon, and 1 pur Sugar Tongs, all silver, 3 silver Pins, 2 gold Rings, one with white stone, and one with red. 1 gold Wedding Ring. 1 large gold Brooch, enamelled, with dog in centre. 1 large gold Mourning Brooch, engraved ' In Memory of T. S. G.' 3 gold Brooches, one set with garnets, another with a purple stone, the other with hair in centre, forming the initials' W. E. H.' 1 twisted gold plated Brooch, 1 Brooch of Scarborough stone, set in silver, with round hole in centre. 1 silver Pin with crystal setting. £ 3 reward will be paid on conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property, on application to Chief Superin- tendent Gregory, Borough Police Office, Doncaster, to whom information is to be given,— Bow- street, August 29. Between 2 and 3 p. m. on the 26th iustant, a cottage near Pentrefoelas, Denbighshire, was broken ami entered, aud the following property stolen therefrom : tour silk Handkerchiefs, two brown with small while spots, one puce with a border, one brown and white with large spots ; two check calico Shirts, ' J. 0.' on the flap ; a pair ot women's Boots, cloth tops, five buttons on the side ; a pair of dark mixture cloth Trousers; a clasp Purse ; a Pocket Knife, wbite hill, rusty blade; and a double cased silver Watch, attached to the chain was a compass, the indicator ol which is broken. Supposed by two tramps who were seen near the premises: one about 26 years ot age, 6 feet 9 inches high, dark couiplexiun ; dressed in & black coat and vest, ribbed fustian trousers, juncrow hat, and clogs. The other about 25 years ot age, 6 feet 2 inches high, sallow complexion; diessed in black cost, fustian vest, cap, and shoes. They are supposed to be natives of Manchester, Information to be given to superintendent Pugh, Denbigh, or to Inspector Hammonds, Llaniwst— Bow- street, August 211, Between 3 and C p. m. on tbe 22nd instant the cottage of Richard Lloyd, at Sandford, in the parish of Severn Stoke, was entered by an unfastened window, and the following pro- perty stolen : a pair of men's lace up Boots, brass eyelets, fancy toe caps, lightly nailed, nails round heel; an unbleached calico Shirt, dirty ; a boy's ditto ; 1 lb of Sugar; 1 oz, of Tea ; 1 oz. of Tobacco; 1 lb. of Soda; and 1 lb. of Snap. Supposed by tramps who were seen in the neighbourhood, lolormation to be given to Superintendent G. Checketts, Upton- on- Severn, Worcestershire.— Bow- strut, Augu- t 27. During the night of the 23rd instant, a burglary was committed at the house of Mr. Larkin, St. Edith, Kemsing, and the following property stoleu: a gold Geneva Watch, gold face, figures, and hands, chased back ; a gold link Chain with Keys and two Seals attached, one seat with a letter and the word ' Reply' on it, the other a flower and the word ' Forget- me- not', the chain was tastened on the watch and could not be taken off without beiiig broken. Information to be given to Superintendent Colman, Police Court, Sevenoaks, Kent.— Bow- street, August 27. The rectory at All Cannings, the residence of the Rev T. A. Methuen, was broken into, during the night of the 24th or morning of the 25th instant, and tbe following article) stolen : a silver Teapot, two silver Table Spoons, a smr. ll silver Cruet- staud, two Cruet Tops, and a Wine Strainer, all with crest— a wolf's head; two small gold Seals; 10s, worth of Postage Stamps; a Half- sovereign ; 20s. in Silver; and a plum Cake. £ 5 6s. reward will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property on application to the Superintendent of Police, Devizes, Wilts,— Bow street, August 27. Between 11 p. m. and 6 a. m. on the night of the 20th ins, the house of Alfred Weaver, of the ' Lock Inn' in the parish of Kinver in the county of Stafford, was entered through the brewhouse window where they obtained access to the bar and stolen therefrom ; 1 quart of Rum, half- pint of Brandy, 40 Cigars, 31bs. ot Sugar, 1 loaf of bread, Jib. of Tobacco, 1 calico Shirt, and 1 black aud white straw Hat, the property of Alfred Weaver. Information to be given to Sergeant Baldwin, Enville near Stourbridge, Staffordshire, or at any Police Station in the County of Stafford.— Boa- streei, August 27, Between 11 p. m. on the 23rd and 5 30 on the 21th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. John Swan, Lower Walton, in the county of Chester, was burglariously entered by sliding back the kitchen window, which was left insecurely fastened and the following property stolen therefrom: two square brass chamber Candlesticks, a Coffee Mill, a « f elastic side Boots, much worn, and a pair of Blucher ditto, recently heeled, with two brass eyelet holes on each side, both pair boy s size ; a white corded Petticoat, needle work at the bottom ; a hue flannel Shirt, torn at the bottom of the front; a pair of new blue worsted Socks, white toes ; a pair of old light blue bocks ; a pair ot lamb's wool Stockings, much worn, ribbed at the tops • a pair of white worsted ditto, recently footed ; an old long black cloth Over Coat, much faded on tho back, lined with alpaca, with a pocket outside left breast., and one in each skirt behind ; an old Table Cloth, an old Towel, a Bottle ot Ginger Wine, part of a neck of Muttoo, and soma ceoked Lamb. Information to be given to Superintendent Andrews, Lynne, Warrington; or to Sergeant Morris, Police Station, Stockton, Neath, Chester.— Brno- street, August 27. During the nigllt of the 22nd instant, the dwelling- house of Mrs. A Whitfield, of Stanford, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therefrom: 3 silver Tahle Spoons, and I D ssert Spoon, marked ' A. H. W.'; 7 silver Tea Spoons; 2 silver Salt Spoons ; 1 Mustard Spoon ; a pint silver Cup, marked ' A. A. W.'; a silver Corkscrew ; a small silver Brooch with cameo ; an old silver waicii Case ; aud a small pocket Knife, ivory handle, and one blade broken. Also, on the same night, the dwelling- house of Mrs. Poore. of Stanford, w. is broken and entered, and the following property wa stolen : 2 light cloth Jackets, has been worn by a miller whilst drvwuw flour; a light Mackintosh ; a pair ot old flint and steel Pistols;. 6 silver Tea Spoons, marked ' N. W. ; 2 plated Table Spoons, marked ' P.'; 2 plated Salt Spoons ; 1 plated Mustard Spoon ; some Receipt and Postage Stamps ; 2 half Sovereigns; about £ 3 in silver; ayci about 10s. in coppers. Information to be giveu to Supeiintendent Johnson, Berks Constabulary Station, Farringdon — Bowsmet, August 27. Between the hours of 1 and 4 p. m. on the 20th instant, the dwelling house of John Edwards, Bettws, Abergele, was broken into, aud the following properly stolen tbereirum : a black cloth Overcoat, nearly new, with pockets at the sides ; a black cloth shooting Jacket, much wora; two black cloth Vests, single- breasted ; a double breasted moleskin Vest; a pair of brown mixture Trousers ; and a pair of light blucher Boots, nearly new. Radley, grocer and provision dealer, Market- place, Uttoxeter, was burglariously entered, and about £ i in Coppers and 10 lbs. of Chesee were stolen therelroin ( part of the coppercom was wrapped up in brown paper of 6s. each). Allen, Esq., on the London- road, ne » r Leicester, in the parish of Knuighton, was burglarously enter on the night of the 22nd instant, aud the following ai tides stolen therefrom : J. C. Information to be given to Superintendent Thomas Burdett, Aylestone, near Leicester, or at the County Constabulary Office, Leicester.— August 24. On the night of the 7th instant, the dwelling- house of F. Arkwright, Esq., of Spondon, was burglariously entered, and the following properly stolen therefrom : a black cloth morn- ing Coat, witii pockets inside skirts,, buttons covered with same material, the skirts are slightly rounded off, ticket pocket on right side,' F. Arkwright' on parchment under the collar, and about half worn; a grey mixture stalking Jacket, two pockets at sides, ntarly new. Whoever will give information ot the offender or offenders shall, on conviction, receive a reward of five guineis from the Spondon Association, over and above a reward of five guiueas by the said F. Arkwright. Information to be given to Superintendent Whieldou, of the County Police, Derby,— Bow- street, August 24. During the night of the 21st instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Benjamin Author, parish of Aston, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen: a pair of silver Sugar Tongs, marked ' W. E. G.'; a silver Cream Jug, mark defaced; a pair of men's Boots, elastic sides ; half a shoulder ot Mutton ( boiled); about 4 lbs. of Tea; and £ lb. of Butter.
