PROFESSORS AND PENSIONERS AT BELFAST, & C. RETURN of the Rev. James G. Murpliy, LL. D. Sir, 19, University- square, Belfast, 19 April 1862. MY name is James G. Murphy, LL. D., T. C. D. I am professor of Hebrew, and the cognate dialects in the Presbyterian College, Belfast, under the care of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, whose ministers and professors sub- scribe the Westminster Confession of Faith. The following are the names of the students who attended my class in the session, commencing the first Tuesday of November 1860, and therefore within the period from 31st March 1* 860 to 31st March 1861. Samuel Irvine. 11. R. F. Stewart. Junior. 1. Andrew Burrows. 2. William Dixon. 3. James Wilson. 4. John H. Beare. 5. Silas Wilson. 6. David M'Kee. 7. Robert Milliken. 8. James Y. M'Clelland. 9. Robert J. Smith. 10. James Birkmyre. 11. Samuel Rodgers. 12. William Warner. 13. William R. Hamilton. The number in attendance during the session was 24. All are for the service of the Presbyterian Church, whether at home or abroad. Which department each shall follow is a matter in the hands of Providence. All completed the session. The session usually lasts from the beginning of November to the end of April following. I give six hours in the week to my class, two on Tuesday, two on Thursday, one on Friday, and one on Saturday. I receive a salary of 250/. per annum from Government; I receive no income from any of the other sources mentioned ; I receive a fee of two guineas from each student.
