32 RETURNS RELATING TO THEOLOGICAL PROFESSORS, BELFAST, & C. Sir, Bandon, 10 May 1862. IN reply to yours of the 7th instant, I have to say that, as clerk of the Synod of Munster, I am required to attend all meetings of Synod, both general and special, to summon special meetings when directed by the Moderator, to make a record of the business of Synod in the minute- book, to authenticate by my signature the annual congregational returns to Government; annually, at my own expense, to print and distribute among the members, lay and clerical, the minute of general and special ( or pro re nata) meetings; and to con- duct whatever correspondence circumstances may render necessary. RETURN of the Number of PUBLIC SERVICES at each Place of Worship receiving Government Aid on Census Sunday 1861, and the Number of ATTENDANTS at each Service, exclusive of Sunday- school. THERE are no means of obtaining this information, no provision for the purpose having been made in the Act for taking the census of the population in Ireland, or by the Com- missioners appointed under that Act. RETURN of Sects or Denominations of PROTESTANT NONCONFORMISTS in Ireland which do not receive any Grant of Money for their Professors, Ministers, & c. No Protestant nonconformists, sects, or denominations in Ireland, other than already mentioned, receive any grant of money for their professors, ministers, the widows of ministers, or otherwise howsoever, nor has the Government any official information with regard to any others.
