RETURN of the CONGREGATIONAL INCOME of the MINISTERS of the GENERAL ASSEMBLY of the PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in Ireland, and any Class or Denomination of NONCONFORMISTS in Ireland, who received portions of the PARLIAMENTARY GRANT of 1860; with the Number of Families belonging to such Congregation, particularising, in each case, the Congregation; Minister's Name; Date of Ordination and Installation ; Number of Families ; Stipend paid by each Congregation ; Aid from Home Mission; Value of Glebe Houses; Chaplaincies, Poor Law, Gaol, or Military ; Bequests, Donations, & c., and Total:— Also, whether the Proceeds of any Endowment constitute any part of the Contributions from Congregations or other Persons, required by Government to be made as a condition for obtaining Grants. Note.— The number of families or individuals, and the particulars of the Congregational Income, are taken from the certificates for the year ending the 31st March 1861 j but the payments for that year were ordered on the certifi- cates for the year ending 31st March 1860. Some of the certificates state the number both of families and individuals ; some only of the former or the latter. The salary derived from " Chaplaincies," where it appears on the cer- tificate, is placed in the Column headed " From other Sources," and distinguished in a note. The proceeds of any endowment where given are likewise placed in the same Column. Those Ministers who were endowed before the 1st January 1839, retain their allowances during their incumbency, notwithstanding the non- lulfilment of the conditions which are enforced in all other cases. Those Ministers who were in receipt of 92 Z. ( is. 2d. per annum on the 1st January 1839, or had previously to that date been appointed assistants on the faith of succeeding to that rate of allowance, retain it during their incumbency ( they are indicated in the Return by an asterisk affixed to their names); on the termination of their incumbency the annual payment to their successors is to be, as in all other cases, 69/. 4s. 8rf. In cases in which two Ministers are paid for one Congregation, the double payment is to be continued only during the incumbency of the present Ministers. In several cases the Parliamentary Grant is received by a retired Minister, the officiating Minister being regarded during the lifetime of the former as " Assistant and Successor." In these cases the " Assistant" or officiating Minister usually receives the Congregational Income except the Parliamentary Grant. The names inserted in the Return are those of the parties receiving the grant. First Class: 921. 6s. 2d. paid to each Minister in this class indicated in the following Return by an asterisk (*). Second Class : 691, is. 8d. paid to all other Ministers. I.— CONGREGATIONS AND MINISTERS CONNECTED WITH THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. CONGREGATION. Minister's Name.
