AT THE LAST GENERAL ELECTION. 37 CHESTER. Number of Electors Registered for 1836 and 1837. Freemen - -- -- -- -- -- - 1,305 £. 10 householders --------- - 993 Number of Electors who actually Polled at the General Election in 1837. Freemen - - -- -- -- -- -- 944 £. 10 householders - -- -- -- -- - 513 W. Finchett Maddock. CHICHESTER. Number of Electors Registered. The above Return is prepared correctly, according to the registrations; but many persons being doubly registered, viz. as 101, electors and as scot and lot or freemen, the number of persons actually entitled to vote is less than the number above stated as the total. Number of Electors who actually Polled at the late General Election. The poll- books do not distinguish between the 101, and the scot and lot electors. It is therefore impossible to state how many of the one or how many of the other are included in the first of the above columns. 21 Dec. 1837. James Powell, Town Clerk. CHIPPENHAM. In the year 1836 : Freemen - -- -- -- --- 63 Other persons entitled to vote for the borough - - - 176 In the year 1837 : Freemen - -- -- -- -- - 60 Other persons entitled to vote for the borough - - - 180 The Members for the borough were returned without opposition at the last general election, consequently there was no polling. CHRISTCHURCH. The number of freemen, called burgesses, entitled to vote in the election of a Member of Parliament for the said borough - Persons entitled to vote in respect of property occupied within the said parish ---------- Persons entitled to vote in respect of property occupied within the parish or chapelry of Holdenhurst ------
