3O6 ELECTORS REGISTERED, & c. AT LAST GENERAL ELECTION. YORK. The total number of freemen on the register of 1837 entitled to vote in the election of Members to serve in Parliament ------ 2,086 The number of such freemen who are entitled to vote by virtue of any other qualification, impossible to ascertain. The number of such freemen who are not municipal electors - 1,360 The total number of municipal electors on the register after the revision of 1837 - 1,783 The number of such electors who are not also qualified to vote for Members to serve in Parliament ------- - 580 The number of such electors who are so
qualified as freemen only - 726 Note.— The Parliamentary and municipal districts are not conterminous, the former being much more extensive. This will in some [ measure account for the circumstance of so great a number of freemen not being municipal electors. 27 December 1837. Robert Davies, Town Clerk.
