Number of freemen on the register of 1837 as entitled to vote in the election of Members to serve in Parliament -------- - 370 The Town Clerk has no means in his own power of ascertaining the number of such freemen who are not entitled to vote by virtue of any other qualifica- tion for Members of Parliament. Number of such freemen who are not municipal electors - - - - - 385 There is not a revised list of municipal electors for the year 1837, the Act ( 1 Victoria, c. 78,) not having been forwarded in time to admit of the election of revising assessors ; but The total number of municipal electors on the register for the year 1836, and yet in force, is - -- -- -- -- -- - 917 Number of such electors who are not also qualified to vote for Members to serve in Parliament - -- -- -- -- -- - 320 Number of such electors qualified to vote as freemen - 507 But how many of such electors are so qualified as freemen only the Town Clerk has not the means of ascertaining. 29 December 1837. The number of freemen is 24, of which number 8 are not entitled to vote by virtue of any other qualification for Members of Parliament, and 12 are not municipal electors. The total number of municipal electors on the register after the revision of 1837 271, of which number 96 are not qualified to vote for Members to serve in Parliament, and 11 are qualified to vote as freemen only. 15 December 18- 37.
