As no charge is made for the insertion of Articles relating to Stolen Property in the Police Gazette and Hue and Cry, all Let- ters addressed to the Editor upon that subject, are reques'ed to be post- paid, otherwise the insertion requested will not take place. ROBBERY FROM THE PERSON. On Saturday night, the 2Gth ultimo, Thomas Jarvis, an En gineer, employed at Mr. Bowman's Sugar- house, Great Alie- street, Whitechapel, was knocked down near Cooper's- gardcns, Hackney- road, by a Man of whom he had inquired the way to the City- road, and who accompanied him some distance* for the apparent purpose of pointing it out to him, and robbed of a double- cased Hunting Watch, without the maker's name ; a plain gold Seal; and a gold Key, with the representation of a draw- well engraved on one side, and on the other the words ' All's well'; also one Sovereign and three or four Shillings.— The Man appeared about twenty- six years of a ® e, about five feet six inches high, and had on a dark coat, with light coloured waistcoat, and trousers. On Friday evening, the 18th ultimo, as Mr. Thomas Deane, Junior, was returning from Wallingford Market, he was stopped by three Men, and robbed of the following property, viz.— A gentleman's gold Watch, plain cases, enamelled face with italic figures, and maker's name ' Richard Ganthony, Lombard- street, London, No. 1016'; a gold Chain, with " broad round links ; two gold Seals— one a red cornelian stone engraved ' J. W. D.' and a Dove with an olive- branch, the other a plain white cornelian stone; two gold Keys : also two .£ 10 Notes of the Bank of Messrs. Simonds and Co., Heading, Nos. C209 and 0473, C.; and three £ 5 Notes— Nos. 7904 F, 309 G, 5763 F, 3061 F, and 7168 F, payable at Messrs. Williams, Deacon and Co.' s, London.— Two of the men are of dark complexion, and had on dark clothing ; one is about five feet ten inches high, and both had the appcarance of sailors. The other man is of short stature, and dressed in a drab fustian coat, light trousers, low shoes, cotton stockings, and appeared like a shoemaker. They were seen in company with a Woman, whom it is sup- posed is in possession of the property. One of the men is now | in custody.— Ten Pounds Reward will be paid on conviction of the offenders and recovery of the property. Information to be 1 given to Mr. Golding, police officer, Heading. HOUSE- BREAKING. On Friday night, the 16th instant, or early the following morning, the Dwelling- house of Mr. John Hartley, of Round- hay, near Leeds, was broken and entered, and Money and other Property stolen therefrom, viz. — Twelve Notes of Messrs. Beckett^ Blayds, and Co., for £ 10 each ; thirty- four Sovereigns, one Half- sovereign, about £ 4 in silver, a quantity of Copper ; four silver Tea- spoons and a Table- spoon marked ' II. R. E.'; a silver Tankard, ' C. J. G.'; and half a pound of Tea.— Who- ever will give information that may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property, shall receive Ten Guineas Reward; or a proportionate Reward on recovery of any part thereof. Application to be made to Mr. Edward Read, chief constable, Leeds. On Monday evening, the 19tli instant, between six and ten o'clock, the House of Mr. Thomas Allen, No. 9, Wellington- row, Bethnal- green, was entered, by means of skeleton keys, during the absence of the family, and the following articles were stolen therefrom, viz.— Six silver Tea- spoons; a pair of silver Sugar- tongs, marked ' S. II. E.'; and a pair of cut- glass Decanters. On Monday evening, the 12th instant, between nine and ten o'clock, the Shop of Mr. L. Benjamin, No. 17, Prince's- strcet, Leicester- square, was broken and entered, and the following articles were stolen therefrom, viz.— Two diamond Pins, with five brilliants forming a cross, having a fine- gold Chain and small Pins attached ; an emerald drop- shape Pin, with Chain and ditto; several single stone brilliant ruby and emerald Pins; a clustcr rose diamond Ring ; a silver- gilt engraved Snuff- box, no Ilall- mark, marked ' \ V. B.'; a ditto coffin- shaped Ditto, plain polished ; eighteen silver curb, and one other Watch- guard ; a silver- gilt Watch- guard ; a pink topaz and fine-" old Necklace and Brooch : a silver Hunting Watch; a double- bottomed Watch, capped and jewelled, maker's name ' Edwards'; a single- bottomed Ditto ; three pair of case Watches ; a pair of silver Snuffers and Tray, the snuffers with springs broken ; three fiddle- head silver Table- spoons, all odd ; a silver Marrow- spoon ; two pink and yellow topaz Rings, unfinished ; a spring pearl Locket, forming a leaf; a box and glass Ring, with ' the Memory of' round tfie box, and ' T. Clayton, died 18 March, 1 1834': a gold Pencil case; a large quantity of Seals, Keys, Rings, Brooches, Ear- rings, Pins, ring Eye- glasses, Scent- boxes, Thimbles, Pencil- cases; a small quantity of Edward II.' s Pennies, and other small Coins.— Information to be given to Mr. Benjamin, aforesaid ; and Thirty Pounds Reward will be paid on conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property. Between the hours of ten o'clock on Wednesday night the 7th instant and seven o'clock the next morning, the Dwelling- house of Mr. Woolf, No. 3, Grosvenor- street, Grosvenor- square, was feloniously broken and entered, and the following articles were stolen therefrom, viz.— Cloth : 18 yards of Imperial grey Drill, 12 § yards of superfine Blue, 6} yards of grey Kerseymere, 11 § of superfine Blue, 6f of dark mixed Dignal, 6J of light mixed Ditto, 3j of Claret- coloured, 2 yards of drab Kerseymere, 12 of superfine Green, 16$ of superfine rifle Green, 13 of super- fine Black, 2J of superfine Claret- coloured, 5J of ditto Brown, 17i of ditto Blue, 12 of ditto Black, 6J of Gold mixed Kersey- mere, 7 of Black ditto, 12 of Oxford- mixture, 3 of spotted Valentia, 6J light grey Kerseymere, 6J of dark grey Dignal, 20J of black Kerseymere, dj of blue mixed Dignal, 1J of Livery Valentia, 6£ of grey Kerseymere, and 14 yards of Blue Livery. Also, a double- breasted Frock Coat, with brown vel- vet collar and front: a pair of superfine black Trousers, a spot- ted silk Waistcoat, nine pieces of different coloured Waistcoats, and two pair of old Trousers of a fancy colour.— Twenty Pounds Reward will be paid by Mr. Woolf", to any person who will give information that may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to William Ballard, constable, Marlborough- street Office. On Monday night, the 12th instant, between half- past eight and half- past ten o'clock, the House of Mr. James Leinun, No. 4, Fuller- street, Bethnal green, was entered at the back door, which was left open, and the following property stolen therefrom, viz.— A silk velvet Waistcoat, a figured silk ditto with velvet collar, a black Gown- piece, three yards of Print, a plaid Gown, a gold Ring, a small Brooch, a gold Keeper, two Shifts marked ' AI. F.', a hair Brooch with ' J. M. G.' engraved, a pair of Stays, a green Shawl, three Sheets, three Pillow- cases, several lace Caps, two Duplicates— one for a claret- coloured silk gown- piece anct the other for a patchwork quilt, also £ 3. 15s, tid. in cash. 2550 POLICE GAZETTE; OR, HUE A ND CRY. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen or strayed, late on Sunday evening, the 18th instant, or early the following morning, from a field in Godney- Moor, in the parish of Meare, in the occupation of Mr. Joseph Ash- ford, of Wedmore, an iron-^ rey Horse, three years old, about tourteen hands and a half high, the near foot behind white, white streak down the face, a collar- ring on the near shoulder, and switch tail. Whoever will give information that may lead to the recovery of the said horse, shall, if stolen, receive Five Pounds Reward, on conviction of the offender or offenders; and it strayed, ten shillings, and all reasonable expenses, on appli- cation to the said Joseph Ashford. Stolen or Strayed, on Thursday night, the loth instant, or early the following morning, Iroin of! Old Sodbury Common, Gloucestershire, a Dark Brown Gelding, fourteen years old, near sixteen hands high, with broken knees, blind in the off eye, fired in both fetlocks for ringbones or quitters which is very observable, ' P. S.' burnt in the fore hoofs, white hind fetlocks, white stripe down his face, and short tail.— If stolen, whoever will aive information that may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive Ten Pounds Reward, 011 application to Ponsonby Sheppard, Esq., Rock House, Old Sodbury, Glou- cestershire If strayed, all reasonable Expenses will be paid 011 the said gelding being restored.— Also, Stolen or Strayed, at the same time and place, a Dark Bay Mare, between a Cart and a Hackney, above eight years old, fifteen hands high, switch tail, fore legs very much puffed, heavy in foal and ex- pected to foal in about a fortnight hence, has a little white just about the hoof on the off hind leg, has been worked very hard in harness, and shows marks of the collar. — If stolen, whoever will give information that may lead to conviction of the offender pr offenders, shall receive Five Pounds Reward, on application to Mr. James Hancock, Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire. If strayed, all reasonable Expenses will be paid on recovery of the mare. Stolen, on Monday night, the 19th instant, or early the fol- lowing morning, a Sorrel Chesnut Horse, Welsh breed, about fifteen hands high, six years old, white star on the forehead, a switch tail, broken mane, full at the back of the ears, and some hair and skin off the near thigh. The property of Mr. Charles Odams, Coal Carrier, Courthouse Green, near the Navigation Inn, Foleshill.— Whoever will give information to Mr. Prosser, high constable, Coventry, that may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive Five Pounds Reward from the said Mr. Odams. Lost, supposed to be Stolen, on Monday night, the 19th inst., or early the following morning, from oft'Cossey Common, near Norwich, a Brown Horse, about fourteen hands high, a white shim on his nose, and blind of the near eye.— Ten Pounds Reward will be paid to any person giving information that may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders, by applying to Mr. William Banham, of Cossey, aforesaid ; and if strayed, all reasonable Expenses will be paid. On Sunday morning, the 18th instant, a man of the name of EMERY, alias PRATON, alias PROCTOR, was shown a Mare which was for sale, belonging to Richard Tamplin, Esq., of Brighton, Sussex, and rode off with the same, and has not since been heard of. The Mare had on a good saddle, bridle, and martingale at the time ; is about six years old, and nearly thorough bred, of a dark iron grey colour, has a short switch tail, with a little white on the hollow of the outside of both hind legs, and stands fifteen hands two inches high. Whoever will give information so that the said Mare may be recovered, and the said EMERY, alias PRATON, alias PROCTOR, ap- prehended, shall, on conviction, receive a Reward of Five Guineas, to be paid by the Brighton Society for Posecuting Thieves and other offenders, and a further Reward of Five Guineas will be paid by Mr. Tamplin, Phoenix Brewery, Brighton. Stolen or strayed, on Sunday night, the 18th instant, or early the following morning, from a field at the end of Hospital- street, Nantwich, a Bay fielding, four years old, having a black mane and switch tail, two white fore feet, with a white hoof, standing about fifteen hands high, and thin in condition. If stolen a Reward of Five Guineas will be given, on the con- viction of the offendor or offenders, by Mr. Benjamin Roden- hurst, of Dysart- buildings, Nantwich ; but if strayed, a hand- some Reward will be given to the person restoring the same to him, or to Mr. Pritchard, police- officer, Nantwich. Stolen, on Sunday night, the 18th instant, from a field at East Harrington, in the out- parish of Saint Cuthbert, Wells, Somerset, belonging to Messrs. O. and S. Willcox, a Bay Pony Gelding, aged, about thirteen hands one inch high, with a white face, two white feet behind, the near lee before white, shows collar marks 011 his shoulders, has a little hair off both knees, scratches in his fore feet, and a small bunch on back- bone, oc- casioned by the saddle; and had when stolen, a very full mane, with a switch tail. Also, stolen from a field belonging to Mr. John Hurman, at East Horrington aforesaid, on the same night, a Bay Nag Gelding, about fourteen hands one inch high, with one white foot behind, black mane and tail, a sort of Roman nose, rather low in condition, and had when stolen a very full mane and tail. The two horses are supposed to be stolen by the same person or persons, and whoever will give such infor- mation as will lead to the recovery of the said horses, and to the conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive Twenty- five Pounds Reward ; or one moiety of the same on the recovery of either one of the said horses, and the convic- tion of the offender or offenders, by applying to the said Messrs. Willcox, or Mr. John Hurman aforesaid. Should one or both of the said horses be left or detained at any place, any person returning or giving information of the same to the owners, shall be handsomely rewarded, and all reasonable ex- penses paid. Stolen, on Monday night, the 19th instant, or early the following morning, from a Meadow, adjoining the town of Maidenhead, a Brown Mare, about fourteen hands high, rising six years old, large scar on the near knee, blind with the off eye, and wrung on the near shoulder.— Whoever will give in- formation that may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the mare, shall receive Four Pounds Reward, by applying to Mr. A. Hussey, butcher, Maidenhead. Stolen or Strayed, on Thursday night, the 15th instant, or early the following morning, from a Field, near Kilburn Lane, Willsden, a Black Cart Horse, nine years old, thirteen hands thpc inches high, white star 011 the forehead, black legs, long tail, and a little saddle- marked on the back: the property of Mr. Paul Russell, of Kensall- green, Harrow- road.— Informa- tion to be given at the Police- station, Paddington. Stolen, on Tuesday night, the 13th instant, from Timworth, near Bury Saint Edmunds, Bury, a Black Horse Pony, aged, a long mane and tail, about thirteen hands high, and saddle- marked 011 the back,— Information to be given to Mr. Whistler, police officer, Thetford, Norfolk. Detained 011 Corks Farm, in the parish of Ealing, in the county of Southampton, on the 16th day of April last, a dark brown Mare, with a switch tail, and a small white blaze in the forehead, aged, about fifteen hands high, dark legs, and saddle- marks, and has been fired in the off fore leg, and had 110 shoes on. Application to be made to Mr. James Lavington, at Corks Farm, aforesaid. Stolen or strayed, 011 Saturday, the 10th instant, or early the following morning, from near Bilson Colliery, in the forest of Dean, in the county of Gloucester, an iron grey Horse, aged, about fourteen hands high, in good condition, has a switch tail, and star or blaze in the forehead, a small substance about the size of a walnut on the near leg, by the outside of the knee, and marked on the knees. Whoever will give such information as may lead to the discovery of the offender or offenders shall, on conviction, receive a Reward of One Guinea ; if strayed, whoever will restore him to Mr. James Cook, of Little Dean, shall be rewarded, and all reasonable expenses paid. EDMUND ( or EDWARD) WILSON, late of King's Lynn, Norfolk, stands charged with horse- stealing, and has absconded. He is about thirty- five years of age, thin made, five feet eight or nine inches high, dark complexion, fore teeth rather pro- minent, and shows his teeth when he speaks, rolls in his walk, had on when he left a green frock coat, small- clothes, cloth gaiters, and shoes, looks like a horse- dealer, and is well known as a dealer at fairs in the counties of Warwick, Leicester, Northampton, and Norfolk. He is supposed to have left King's Lynn on Sunday, the 11th instant, and was heard of on his way towards Wisbech. Information to be given to Mr. John Day, of Coventry, or to the Mayor of Lynn, aforesaid. Stolen or Strayed, on Saturday night, the 10th instant, or early the following morning, from Marton, in the county of Warwick, a Brown Pony, marked K on the near side of the rump, a cut in the off ear, a wart inside the near thigh, two broken knees, and about thirteen hands high.— Two Guineas Reward will be paid, on conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the pony, on application to Isaac Pearson, of Marton, Warwick. Absconded, on Wednesday, the 7th instant, from Blundis- ham, Huntingdonshire, GEORGE CASBON, stealine and taking with him a Horse and Cart, belonging to his employer, Thomas Casbon, of Somersham, Hunts. The Horse is of a dark black colour, a few white hairs 011 the forehead, broken knees, and touched in the wind. The Cart is painted green, but the off- side rail being recently repaired was not painted.— GEORGE CASBON is about nineteen years of age, five feet eight inches high, middle stature, brown hair, and light eyes.— Information to be given to Mr. Casbon, gardener, Somersham, Huntingdonshire. Found, in the possession of JAMES BOLTON, a male Ass, with brown body, white face belly and legs, the hajr under the right shoulder and neck rubbed off, and in good condition. Supposed to have been stolen.— Application to be made at Bow- street Office. Stolen, on Monday night, the 12th instant, or early the fol- lowing morning, from a stable belonging to Mr. George Jellicoe, at Ettingsham, in the parish of Sedgley, in the county of Stafford, a yellow roan Gelding, six years old, about fifteen hands two inches high, with mane and tail nearly white ; one new Saddle, and two Bridles, one nearly new ; also one set of Horse- clothing, new, marked G. Stolen, on Tuesday night, the 6th instant, or early the fol- lowing morning, from a Stable, at Harleston, near Northamp- ton, a dark Bay Horse, five years old, about fifteen hands high, black legs clear from hair, a few grey hairs on his forehead, had not been docked, collar- marked on his shoulder, low in con- dition, and rather pacing in his walk. Stolen or Strayed, on Wednesday night, the 93d ultimo, from a Piece of Land, called Great Close, situate in the town- ship of Little Longstonc, near Bakewell, in the county of Derby, in the occupation of Mr. James Gregory, a Light Bay Filly, of the Hackney kind, three years old, about tourteen hands and a half high, long tail, a star in the face, and light coloured muzzle.— If stolen, whoever will give information that may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders, shall re- ceive Five Guineas Reward from the Treasurer of the Ashford, Great Longstone and Little Longstone, with Monsal Dale, As- sociation ; and also Five Guineas from the said Mr. James Gregory, the owner. Stolen, on Thursday night, the 17th ultimo, or early the following morning, from the Premises of Mrs. Mary Patinore, of Quendon, near Bishop's Stortford, a Black Horse, about fourteen hands high, about seven years old, and a star in his ioretiQad. Whoever will give information thut may lead to conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive a Reward of Ten Pounds, by applying to Mr. Mathew Woodley, of Stansted Mountpleher, near Bishop's Stortford, 1' reasurer to the Association for the Prosecution of Felons, at Bishop's Stortford, aforesaid. Supposed to be Stolen, on I'riday night, the 25th ultimo, or early the following morning, from a Field near Sawbridgeworth, Herts, a bright Bay Pony Gelding, about twelve or thirteen hands high ; the letters ' G. C.' cut in the hair on the side, the letters about six inches long ; white face and heels, with some white hairs in his tail.— Also a young Black Cart Mare, rising five years old, a star on the forehead, a white spot on the neck, and fifteen or sixteen hands high.— Also another Horse missing from the same field, the description not known.— Information to be given to G. M. Curtis. No. 29, Cumberland- street, Hack- ney- road. Stolen, on Sunday night, the 20th ultimo, or early the fol- lowing morning, from the parish of Bushey, in the county of Herts, Two Asses. One a Gelding, of very light colour, about four years old, large framed, long switch tail, and a spot where the hair is off the rump on the near side : the other a small Black Stallion, short tail, hair rubbed off with saddle, two white spots on the near side caused by the saddle, and about seven years old. Stolen, on Monday night, the 21st ultimo, or early the fol- lowing morning, from the stable of Mr. George Hutchinson, of Brocknole, near Cantley, a dark brown Mare, rising seven years old, about fifteen hands and a half high, with a few white hairs on the forehead, a little white on both hind feet, and a few white hairs on the shoulders, caused by the chafing of the collar; black mane and tail. Whoever will give information to Mr. Tymms, Police Officer, Doncaster, so as to lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders, will receive a Reward of Ten Pounds. A leather head- collar was also taken away at the same time. Stolen, on Sunday morning, the 27th ultimo, from the Stable of Mr. Gingell, Epping, a Bay Cart Horse, aged, about fifteen hands and a half nigh, has a sand- crack on the oft" fore foot, a cut in the left eye- lash, and walks very wide behind. — The horse was rode through the turnpike in the Kingsland- road, about half- past eight o'clock the same morning, by a Man about thirty years of age, five feet seven inches high, very much pitted with the small- pox, dressed ill a drab fiock coat, dark trousers, high shoes, and had the appearance of a Gypscy. -— The horse had on a Bridle with winkers, and a Saddle, which were also stolen. Stolen or Strayed, on the flight of the 3rd March, or early the following morning, from a Piece of Land, at Gornal, in the parish of Sedgley, in the county of Stafford, Two Dark Iron- grey Colts. One a Gelding, rising two years old, a strawberry roan mark on the cheek, rather long in the legs, low in con- dition, and likely to make a horse from fifteen to sixteen hands high : the other a Filly, rising one year old, with a little en- largement on the hock from a kick : they were both bred from ' Comet,' and the same Mare, which is a half- bred grey one.— Also stolen, at the same time, a small Dark Brown Cow, rather brindled on the body, with one horn broken off', and had lately calved.— Information to be given to Mr. Joseph Cook, high constable, Dudley. L.'; a buff Cashmere Waistcoat, a lilac figured Ditto, a woman's Night- gown, a new Shift, and a Child's calico Shirt with linen collar.— The Child was taking the articles to be washed ; and the felony was committed by a Woman, about eighteen years of age, dressed in a black frock, green shawl, and white straw bonnet: she said her name was SHEPHARD. Absconded, on Sunday, the 18th instant, JAMES RACK- HAM, stealing and taking with him £ 3. 6s. 6d., which he had received from Mr. Cottcrel, tallow- chandler, Kensington, on account of his employer, Mr. James Daw, butcher, Notting- hill, Kensington.— He is about twenty- four or twenty- five years of age, five feet high, dark complexion, and dressed in a fustian jacket, brown pantaloons, and low shoes much worn. Stolen, on Thursday night, the 22d instant, about ten o'clock, from the House of Mrs. Lakeman, No. 14, Albemarle- street, Piccadilly, the following articles, viz.— Six silver Tea- spoons, some of them marked ' J. S. L.'; a ditto Table- spoon ; a straw Bonnet trimmed with light ribbon, a pair of leather Shoes, and £ 1. 10s. In money.— Supposed by a charwoman named JANE BEALE. * Stolen, on Wednesday night, the 21st instant, from the ' Pickled Egg' Public- house, Crawford- passage, Clerkenwell, a silver Watch, a pair of Shoes, and 3s. in money. The pro- perty of William Smith.— By a lodger named JOHN MURRY, about sixteen years of age, five feet high, wry- mouthed, dressed in a cord jacket and trousers and fur cap. Absconded, on Monday night, the 21st ultimo, from the house of Mr. William Bull, watchmaker, Humberstore- gate, Leicester, a man who gave his name CAMPBELL, stealing and taking with him, a piece of Irish cloth, a carpet Bag, a silk Umbrella, a black silk Handkerchief, and a Clothes- brush, a Hat- brush, and a Nail- brush ; he also took a common pros- titute to the Fleur- de- lis Inn, and obtained a bed, stating her to be his wile, he got up in the middle of the night and robbed her of a silver Pencil- case, and other articles. Had on a brown frock coat, a Scotch plaid waistcoat and trowsers, and a blue and white chequered shirt; stands about five feet nine inches high, light complexion, little or no whiskers, and a particular mark on his left thumb, and Scotch brogue. Stolen, on Thursday night, the 15th instant, from the House of Mr. Maxton, No. 29, Albany- street, Edinburgh, the follow- ing articles, viz.— Silver : a Divider, two Sauce- spoons, a Fish- knife, eighteen Table- spoons, twelve Dessert- spoons, eighteen Tea- spoons, twelve Fish- forks, two Breakfast- forks, six Salt- spoons, six Egg- spoons, four Punch- ladles, and two Butter- knives : all marked ' M.', and some with an ' x' below the M ; all plain, except the forks, which are of a shell pattern. Also a Hat, made by ' Carfrae and Hagg, hatters, South Bridge, Edinburgh.'— By WALTER WALSH. He is between twenty five and thirty years of age, about five feet five or six inches high, a native of Ireland, and speaks the Highland accent, has dark brown hair, reddish whiskers not large but long, bload slightly broken on the cheek, chin rather long and ruddy, has a ltuik downetwt and rather Kullty look, and BtoQps a little ; he wore a black hat ( supposed to be made by ' Carfrae and Hagg'), and when last seen was dressed in black clothes a little worn, a white neckerchief spread down his breast and a gold pin in it. Absconded, on the 1st of January last, from the employ of Benjamin Ingram and Son, Timber Merchants, No. 38, Beech- street, Cripplegate, GEORGE commonly called JOSEPH WELLS, stealing and taking with him the sum of £ 5.16s. 104d. which he had received of Mr. Sherman, ' Oxford Arms,' War- wick- lane, for timber, on account of his employers.— He was employed as porter, is a native of Stow- market, about five feet five inches high, stout made, dark complexion, and about twenty- three or twenty- four years of age. WILLIAM WALWYN, commercial traveller to Mr. Har- rison, of Leek, in the county of Stafford, silk manufacturer, stands charged with embezzling and stealing several Sums of Money, which he had received on his employer's account.— He is about twenty- five years of age, five feet eleven inches high, rather stout, ruddy complexion, long face, black eyes hair and whiskers extending under his chin, rather round- shouldered, a little in- knee'd, and rather club- footed ; he wore a black coat waistcoat and trousers, and black silk neckerchief. He left Ashby- de- la- Zouch ( leaving his horse and gig at that place), it is supposed for London, on Saturday morning, the 10th instant. He has the Staffordshire accent, and is a native of Leek.— In- formation to be given to Mr. Alcock, constable, Leek. JAMES MAGUGIN, a native of Ireland, absconded from his employer, John Jordon, on the 24th of March last, with Goods to the amount of £ 12 and upwards.— He is about five feet five inches high, pock- marked, strong legs, black hair, dark eyes, and cocked nose; he travels with Irish cloth, and his pack is marked ' John Magugin.'— Information to be given to the said John Jordan, Swan Inn, Shaftesbury. Stolen, from the House of Mr. Power, No. 4, Upper Russell- street, Bermondsey, an engine- turned silver Watch, and a ma- hogany Box containing £ 7. 12s. He is about five feet eight inches high, has a scar on the left side of his head, and was dressed in a white flannel jacket and drab trousers. Stolen, on Saturday evening, the 17th instant, between seven and eight o'clock, from the Apartments of Mrs. Dowell, No. 2, Little Turnstile, llolborn, a double- case Silver Hunting Watch, with the name of ' Oliver Dowell' on the face, instead of figures.— By a Woman named SUSAN TAPE, who has been living with Mrs. Dowell for some time. She is about twenty years of age, five feet five inches high, fair complexion, and stoops a little in walking ; was dressed in a dark cotton gown with short sleeves, and a straw bonnet with blue ribbon. Stolen, on Tuesday evening, the 6th instant, about nine o'clock, from the Room of Mr. King, in No. 33, Crown- street, Saint Ann, Soho, a Violin and Bow, also a silk Handkerchief. — By a man named HAYDON, about twenty- seven years of age, five feet eight inches high, florid complexion, no whiskers, full eyes, has a lump projecting from under the left ear, and rather stoops in walking; was dressed in a green coat with fancy buttons which he generally buttons close up, black trousers, and a shabby black hat.— Information to. be given to the said Mr. King. Absconded, on Monday, the 12th instant, THOMAS BIRKETT, formerly of No. 25, Castle- street, Ilolborn, law writer, and late a clerk in the Office of Mr. William Temple, No. 4, Blomfield- street, London- wall, City, stealing and taking with him several Sums of Money, the property of his employer. — He is about twenty- four years of age, five feet four inches high, rather pale complexion, small whiskers, light hair, near- sighted, and generally walks quick; had on, when he left, a brown coat, figured waistcoat, chequered fustian trousers, and white " loves. He was seen on the evening of the 12th instant, in a cab, in Essex- street, Iving's- cross ; and on the following morning, about nine o'clock, in Marylebone- lane, near High- street : and is supposed to be about Islington.— Ten Guineas Reward will be paid on his conviction. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONS Description of two Convicts, who absconded from Van Diemen's Land, having seized and carried away the Govern- ment Schooner, Badger: GEORGE HARDING DARBY, mariner, born at Southampton, Hampshire; tried at Taunton, for housebreaking, March 1830, and sentenced to be trans- ported for life. Ho is thirty years of age, five feet three inches and a half high, hazel eyes, sandy hair, and slender person : face, arms, and hands, much sun freckled, inoculation left arm, scar left thumb, hair thin at the top of the head, high forehead. Sailed for Van Diemen's Land in the ship William Glen Ander- son, May 1831.— WILLIAM PHILP, mariner, born at Pad- stow, Cornwall; tried at Bodmin, for setting fire to a vessel, August 1830, and sentenced to be transported for life. He is forty- two years of age, five feet four inches and three quarters high, dark hazel eyes, dark hair, and slender person : has lost three front teeth upper jaw, bald head, lost first finger right hand, third and fourth fingers crooked left hand, top of first finger off left hand. Sailed for Van Diemen's Land in the ship Argyll, March 1831. Both these men laid a plot when at Ply- mouth for seizing and carrying away the ship Argyll. WILLIAM BORODALE, late of Doncaster, labourer, stands charged with felony, in stealing, on the night of the 12th ultimo, a Bay Mare, the property of Mr. David Collins, of Clifton, near Halifax. He escaped from the custody of a con- stable of Newark, on Monday, the 14th instant, leaving the stolen mare in the constable's possession, and which has been claimed by the owner.— The said WILLIAM BORODALE is about twenty- one or twenty- two j ears of age, about five feet five inches high, light hair, and of fair complexion ; had on a short fustian coat, fustian trousers, worsted waistcoat, half- boots, and light blue stockings. On making his escape he cut a severe wound ori his neck. 1I< » is well known in the neigh- bourhood of Clifton near Halifax, at Askren, and Doncaster: his father has lately kept a beer- shop at Doncaster, where he was concealed until Friday night last, when he was removed.— Information to be given to the said Mr. Collins; to Mr. W. Workman, high constable, Adwick- le- Street, near Doncaster ; or Mr. Brierley, constable, Halifax. Description of a Man who has absconded from the employ of Mr. John Embrey, No. 7, Crown- street, Soho, stealing and taking with him the following property, viz.— One £ 5 Bank of England Note ; a silver Watch, double- cased, maker's name ' Andrew Bruce, No. 2806'; two Sovereigns, and £ l in silver. — He is about five feet five or six inches high, very much pitted with the small- pox, dark complexion, stoops a little in walking, and was dressed in a plush waistcoat, corduroy trousers, and ancle boots. He has been in custody at Marlborough- street Office, for stealing harness.— Information to be given to Mr Embrey, as above. Escaped, on Thursday morning, the 17th ultimo, from the House of Correction at Halsted, Essex, the following Prisoners, who were committed for trial on serious charges of Felony, viz. — JOSEPH FULLARD, twenty- eight years of age, five feet eight inches and a quarter high, fresh light complexion, light hair, grey eyes, has scars on his forehead, fore finger of his left hand, and left cheek ; supposed to be a nailmaker, and a native of Gornale, Staffordshire : had on a black hat, light fustian . shooting- frock with pockets one above the other and the buttons nearly all broken off but the shanks left on, a waistcoat having double pockets, cord breeches, and gaiters; and FREDERICK HOWES, twenty- one years of age, five feet two inches high, dark complexion, light brown hair, hazel eyes, and small visage; he wore a black hat, smock- frock over a dark brown coat, waist- coat, fustian trousers, gaiters, and shoes : his father, Henry Howes alias Owers, he has stated is a shoemaker, and resides in Jubilee- place, Halfway- house, Commercial- road. These two Men re suspected of being connected with a formidable and desperate gang of thieves who infest country fairs : they travel- led in company with many other suspicious characters, with four horses and tilted carts.— Whoever will apprehend or cause to be apprehended the said offenders or either of them, and lodge them or either of them in any of His Majesty's Gaols, shall receive Five Pounds Reward, on the apprehension of each of the said offenders, on application to Mr. George Wright, Keeper of the House of Correction, Halsted, Essex. PROPERTY STOLEN. Stolen, on Tuesday morning, the 20th instant, from William Jiggles, labourer, of Blenheim, Bedfordshire, sixteen Sovereigns. — By a Man with whom he slept on the previous night, at the ' Mitre' Public- house, llighgatc ; who contrived to abstract the money from a letter he had written for Jiggles, and which was taken to him after the sovereigns were inclosed, for the purpose of sealing it: four halfpence were substituted in lieu of the six- teen sovereigns.— He is between thirty and forty years of age, five feet seven or eight inches high, middle stature, dark swartny complexion, dark nair and whiskers mixed with grey, walks with a stick and limps; he was dressed in a dark velveteen shooting- jacket faded, cord breeches, grey stockings, laced shoes, and a very old silk hat. He said he was a dealer in rags and bones. Stolen, on Monday night, the 19th instant, between eight and eleven o'clock, from the House of Mr. Allen, No. 41, Rupert- street, Haymarket, a large size double- case silver Watch, maker's name on the dial ' Gutbush, Coventry- street, No. 1820'; and about 13s. in silver. Stolen, on Thursday morning, the 22d instant, about half- past seven o'clock, from the Hall of Mr. Blanchard, No. 187, Piccadilly, a blue cloth Cloak, a brown Great Coat, and an old silk Umbrella with the name of ' Mr. Richard Blanchard' en- graved on the handle.— The felony was effected during the time the dustmen were removing the dust. Found, in the possession of a Man, now in custody for felony, a pair of silver Salt- spoons, and a pair of old- fashioned Sugar- tongs marked ' M. G.' Supposed to have been stolen.— The prisoner stands charged with stealing a Surgeon's Case of Instruments, by calling when the gentleman was out; and it is supposed the above articles have been obtained under a similar pretence. Stolen, on Wednesday, the 21st instant, between eleven and twelve o'clock, from a little Girl, named Eliza Evans, about twelve years of age ( living at No. 45, Upper Ebury- street, Pim- lico), whilst near the gate at the entrance from Spring Gardens into Saint James's Park, a Basket, containing the following articles of dirty Linen, the property of Mr. Latham, of No. 2, Brydges Street, Covent Garden, viz.— Two linen Shirts with full fronts, marked ' J. L.'; four Shifts ( three baby's and one large); three Table- cloths, marked ' C. H. L.': seven Towels, three of them marked ' J. L.'; two children's Frocks, a pair of Stays, a Cover for drawers, three baby's Night- gqwns ; three ditto Caps, marked ' C. L.': and three Pillow- cases, ' J. L.' or'C. L.'; also one Half- sovereign.— The felony was com- mitted by a middle aged Woman, about five feet two inches high, thin pale visage, long nose, black hair curlcd in the French style, dressed in a green plaid cloak, white straw bonnet, brown stuff apron, and white stockings: both her person and dress had a very dirty appearance. To accomplish her pur- pose she enticed the girl intp the Suttling- house, Saint James's Palace, where she gave her a biscuit and some ale, with which it is supposed she mixed poison, as the girl was found in a senseless state in Saint James's Place. On Sundav morning, the 18th instant, between twelve and one o'c| 6ck, " a decent- looking Man, about thirty years of age, dressed in a dark frock coat, called at Mr. Franklyn's, in College Green, Bristol, with the excuse that he wished to see Mr. F., who was gone to a place of Worship, and was asked to await his return ; during which time he broke open a Writing- desk and Drawer, and stole the following property, and then left word with the servant that he bad an engagement at one o'clock, and would call in the afternoon.— Nine Notes, of Stuckeys' Bank, viz. — No. 84790, dated 18th Sept. 1833, for £ 20; No. 92846, Oct. 23d, £ 30 ; No. 91308, Oct. 19th, £ 10; No. 91402, Oct. 19th, £ 10; No. 52848, March 18th, £ 5 ; No. 89767, Oct. 14th, £ 5; No. 93607, Oct. 24th, £ 5; No. 106598, 19th Feb. 1834, £ 5 ; and 110781, March 10th, £ 5. About twenty Sove- reigns, some Half- spvereigns, and a £ 5 Bank of England Note. Also, a gold Watch, the case engraved with the emblems of husbandry, maker's name ' Joseph Millis, London, No. 1299'; and an oblong mother- of- pearl Box, Foreign make, mounted in silver, and ' H. Stolen, on Friday morning, the 23d instant, between one and three o'clock, from the Carriage of Mrs. Coulson, of No. 24, Orchard- street, Portman- square, while attending a Ball at the Artillery Barracks, Woolwich, a French merino plaid Cloak, lined with cherry- coloured silk, very full cape with fringe round it, and a red velvet collar which fastens with a clasp and chain. Left, in a Hackney Coach, on Monday, the 12th instant, at Grove- street, Camden- town, and suspected to have been stolen, a Tea- chest, about ten inches long and five wide, made of different woods, having a plated handle: it contained two canisters, with half a pound weight of tea also some loaf and moist sugar, and two plain fiddle- headed silver Tea- spoons.— The property of Mr. Baxter. Stolen, on Wednesday, the 14th instant, from the House of Mrs. Benson, No. 16, Wilderness- row, Saint Luke, the follow- ing articles, viz.— A Brooch ; five Rings— one a mourning- ring set with several stones of a very brilliant appearance, one a ruby set in pearls, and another a chased gold ring; a Watch- key with cornelian stone, a red Shawl, and a coral Necklace. Stolen, from the Shop of Mr. Pite, Silk Mercer, No. 15, Cranbourn- street, Leicester- square, Three Pieces of Gros- de- Naples, viz.— A piece of Black containing seventy yards ; one piece of Ditto containing fifty- nine yards, and a piece of Slate- coloured containing forty- nine yards. Stolen, on Wednesday, the 14th instant, between ten and one o'clock, from a smaHcupboard in the back Parlour of the ' Freemasons'Arms' Public- house, Suffolk- street, Battle- bridge, kept by William Oyston, a black canvas Bag, containing forty- six Sovereigns : also a double leather Purse, containing a £ io Bank of England Note, No. 7702 ; a £ 10 ditto and a £ 5 ditto, numbers unknown ; also £ 6 in Silver. Stolen, on Saturday evening, the 17th instant, between four and seven o'clock, from the Grammar School, King's Road, Pimlico, the following articles, viz.— Three pair of youth's Dancing- shoes— one pair with the name of ' Enoch," another pair ' Revel,' and the other ' Maul,' written inside: three ditto ditto, names not known ; an oak Knife- box, containing two dozen Knives and Forks, different sizes, with white and green handles ; a pair of men's Boots nearly new ; and about twenty- seven pounds weight of Bacon. Stolen, on Sunday evening, the 18th instant, from the person of Mr. Price, of Steel- yard, Upper Thames- street, whilst in the High- street, Borough, a diamond Shirt- pin, value seven guineas. — By a Prostitute.
