Duty performed by a resident curate. - - This parish be- ing convenient to Lisburn, where the consistorial courts are held, he dis- charges the paro- chial duties of it in person. - - Resides conveni- ent ; no glebe- house in the parish. Duties of this parish performed by a resi- dent curate. - - There is also a curate in this parish. - - There is also a resident curate in this parish. FROM the foregoing enumeration it appears that in the dioceses of Down and Connor are 75 benefices; that in these benefices are actually resident 56 incumbents, and that there are actually non- resident 16 incumbents, the remaining three benefices being vacant; and that in all cases of non- residence, the incumbents are either resident on some other preferment, or have no glebe or glebe- house. It also appears that, wherever the incumbent is not resident, his place is supplied by a resident curate, except in very few cases, where from difficulties hitherto insurmountable it has not been found practicable to provide a church or glebe house. It may also be remarked, that in various cases where the incumbent is resident, there is also a resident curate. Certified by Heny T. Higginson, Registrar.
