ON THE LOCAL TAXATION OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN. 261 PARISH OF ST. MARK. THE Churchwardens of the Parish of St. Mark return the following, for the information of Parliament, as the amount and particulars of Church Rates assessed in Vestry, and to be levied for and in the above- named Parish, for the Year 1822, for the necessary main- tenance of the church establishment therein. AT a Vestry legally called and held in the Vestry- room of said Parish, on the 16th day of April 1822, to assess the Parish Rates, the following were agreed to; viz. s. d. The curate, for early service for one year - 100 - - The vestry clerk, for one year's salary -------- 32 10 - - - D° - - for stationery for vestry - 1 14 if Parish clerk, for one year's salary, in lieu of the ninepences - - - - 20 - - - D° - for one year attending early service ------ 5 13 9 The organist, for one year's salary - -- -- -- - 30 - - - D° - for instructing the children in psalmody - 10 - - The sexton, for one year's salary ------- 40 - - Gallery sextonness, for one year* s salary - 13 13 - V estry- maid, for washing surplices, & c. -------- 4 11 - The beadle, for one year's salary and clothing ------ 28 8 9 The grave- digger, for poor graves - -- -- -- - 10 - - The bell- ringer, for one year's salary - -- -- -- - 10 - - Bread and wine for the sacrament - - - - 10 — — Coals for the church - -- -- -- -- -- 15 — — Samuel Loughlin, ( sexton) additional for one year ------ 10 — - Engine- keeper, for one year's salary - -- -- -- - 11 7 6 Coffins for the poor, for one year --------- 40 - - Apothecary, for medicines for the poor, one year ------ 34 2 G 40 - - 467 - Ik The above is to be considered as the usual and annual church rates, assessed in vestry, and levied on the parish, for the maintenance of the church establishment therein, and liable to little or no variation. The following Items, included in the account of last year, are not to be considered as part of the usual yearly Rates, but are merely balances of accounts due from preceding years, as each item sets forth:— TO Balance of account due the Morning Post, for advertisements on parochial business Mr. Underwood, for printing, & c. & c. & c. ------- Freeman's Journal - - d° - - - Mr. Clarke, for ironmongery for the church ------- Mr. Thomas Hand, for coals for - - d° Mr. Robert Lovely, slater's work for - d° Mr. Cockburn, stonecutter's work for - d° Mr. Shaw, wine for sacramental uses - Mr. Peile, for coals for the church - -- -- -- - Balance of account due to the coffinmaker, for poor coffins - One year's assessment from above ------- Dublin, April 16th, 1822.
